Do we switch him and Webster?

Williams is killing us. Like other posters have pointed out, he really lacks instincts.

Would the bye week would give us enough time to make the switch and prepare for the Steelers?

Thoughts......

Gold is killing us.
Gordon is killing us.

Gold is killing us.
Gordon is killing us.

I can see that. But the bottom line is I can really see Nate making the plays that
DJ can't based on instinct alone. Nate attacks, DJ doesn't.
As for Gold, who could possibly take his place?

There is a reason Nate Webster has been a backup his whole career.

There is a reason Nate Webster has been a backup his whole career.

And a reason why DJ has been on the outside most of his. Superior athlete, but not the instincts to play mike.

Ah but somehow on this board that logic doesn't apply to why DJ got kicked from Will.

No, Webster is worse. Anyone know why Teddy Lehman lost his starting job in Detroit? If it was injuries, and he's healthy now, you know he can play mike!

webster has the fire and the awareness. they are running right through him. move him webster cannot do any worse of a job then what dj has done. or hell move daniel graham there. on that note he sure isnt doing much on offense other then blocking.

No, for better or worse (more likely) we are stuck with the crap we have at LB this year.

Webster had just as bad of a game as DJ.

If Webster was the answer one would think Shanny/Bates would have put him there from the start and left DJ at his outside spot.

Theres a reason Webster has been the "backup plan" from the start.

Broncos are screwed there is no way to re arrange this garbage on defense and make it smell nice. Broncos defense will not be go dood this year period. We have all benn watching football to know that when you don't have one dominant player in the whole front seven you are in trouble.

Simply put, this is true. Maybe Shanny should just fax this to all his players.

I could not disagree more. I think we will be one of the doodiest d's in the AFC for a large portion of the year.

I voted no, only b/c I don't think it will make too much of a difference as long as Ian Gold stays on the field.

Replace Ian Gold with DJ Williams
Move Nate to the Mike.
Let Green or Lewis play the Sam.

Nate in the Middle goes a long way toward solving our issues. DJ at the Whiskey allows him to actually make some plays without all the responsibilities that are making him struggle at Mike. DD Lewis looked pretty good at Sam for most of the preseason. I don't think we'd miss too much with that kind of shake-up...at least not from the Sam.

Yes, b/c he's playing a position that requires him to be more reactive than agressive and he's more of the latter in nature. That's why he was overrunning plays. Hell, he was the only player to figure out the PA Rollout the entire game. Too bad he kept overrunning the play. At Mike he could be aggressive and atleast make some plays...something DJ is not doing yet and I'm not sure he ever will. DJ has the athleticsm to react to a play and make something happen. He doesn't have the "brains" to play Mike and understand where the play is going based on pre-snap reads. He's a reactive player with incredible athelticsm, play him at the Whiskey!
