Jags played physical ball and our gameplan was flawed. We didn't get run out of the building, we had a tough game and lost. We made mistakes.
1 loss and you guys are losing hope for the season...it's funny seeing some reactions of fans. The previous 2 games where we win, they act like it's not a big deal. Now we lose, it's the end of the world.
I can't imagine anyone here being a true competitive athlete...already declaring a loss.

I think this team can beat anyone on any given Sunday.
BUT, I think we have seen enough to know that they won't be able to beat the likes of Pittsburgh, Indy, San Diego, Baltimore, and NE in consectutive weeks in order to reach the Super Bowl.
We will be a 7 to 10 pt underdog next week.
It isn't the loss, it is the fact that for the third week in a row we were exposed as not_being_a_very_good_team. I said the same thing last two weeks as well but the homers were too busy thumping their chests with a win is a win.
Fact is, we should be 1-2 or 0-3. The coaching staff didn't get this team ready to play and if today was any indication, things are going to get worse rather than better. Our game plan didn't have a chance today where as last two weeks it was the execution and red zone play calling that let us down. This is an average team that will be lucky to make the playoffs. This is a rebuilding year and a year for Culter to hone his skills.

This team was physically and completely manhandled. Period. Your not going to solve that with a pep-talk. Shanny has thus far been unable (or unwilling) to find the big physical linemen that this team needs to compete physically. That's what I saw (just got back from the game).... there is a LOT to love about this team. However, we're lacking physically in the front 7. DJ isn't physical enough. Gold is a joke. And everyone along the line was consistently KILLED throughout the game.
This has to be solved with new personnel. Until then, 8-10 wins is a good season.
Just how I see it.

Wait, the Titans can keep up with the Colts, but we can't right?
Well, the Titans could run the ball on the Colts. With the way our O-line played today, I'm not certain we can. Also, the Titans defense is better than hours, it's that simple.

So if we won today, would you still be saying all of that? Honestly?
If we nailed out another come back win, not last second, but come back win, would you still be on that?
There was a bunch of things thats killed us that many people are overlooking.
That 11 minute drive put us in a hole, but it was still 7-7 afterwards.
What killed us today was PENALTIES. Some crucial penalties hurt us. We couldn't get the running game going, and they did. We had 42 plays, they had 70. They killed us in TOP...
We 2 lost fumbles too.
There were so many factors that it's not one thing that you can point at.
Those fumbles were crucial IMO...

I think this team has shown much more than I expected. Henry is exactly what we were looking for and for a "rookie" Cutler has shown great promise. We've got a young offense, are still in big repair on a mistake laden DL, and made a huge miscalculation on LB's. Also might I add my trademark need for a safety. But I don't think I've enjoyed watching the Broncos as much for several years. They are showing great promise and could majorly surprise as soon as this year. Maybe we're not going to the SB, who knows, but we could make some other teams miserable.

I figured that this place would be in full riot mode, unfortunately I wasn't mistaken; yes we are not a SB caliber team, however, we have a team loaded with talent, with a bunch of new guys learning at least a new defensive system, give them some time, it isn't the end of the world, we lost to a team that simply was superior in every facet of the game, if anything Shanny's teams have demonstrated throughout his tenure to have pride, we will bounce back and while next week looks really scary, I'm pretty sure that regardless of the outcome we will see some Bronco football again. Relax, the sky is not falling.

Don't be ludicrous, if you had been paying attention, you would have seen that while some fans may have been content by our previous 2 skin-of-the-teeth wins, most fans were very worried. I mean hell, if we can barely scrape wins against the crappiest teams in the league, what will we do against good ones? And it's a fair question.
How many pros will pick us to win next week? I'll guarantee it here: EPSN and CNN, we will get ZERO picks to win. And justifiabliy so. And while you we will harping about what horrible fans we are, us who are realists will be harping for less crappy playcalling, more pressure on the QBs, and more solid line play.
Nice...the meltdown of the board has begun. As much as the loss sucks and we look like a SCAREY team...the team has also done a lot of good things and I think we forget how many new players/coaches we have on this team.

I'm pretty thrilled by Cutler. He looks amazing!
But just look to a previous QB with solid receivers (i.e. three amigos) with crappy coaching to see the results. Our line during our SB years was incredibly better than what we have now. People need to realize - Gibbs is gone, move on! Do something different! We won't get by trying to be a relic of what we once were.

Reality has set in on Bronco nation. We're not very good. This team could've easily been 0-3. We're bad on defense. Just bad.
We could also be 2-1.
Oh wait, we are. This team grossly outplayed their opponents weeks 1 and 2 and the only reason those games weren't 20 point blow outs is because the bounces didn't go our way.
Now we see the result of playing a pretty good team that matches up great against us when the bounces still doing go our way.
You can either believe that this team is jinxed and we'll never get the bounces, or just hope for the karmic rebound where they will, at which point our offense, which is already scary potent, will actually start scoring TDs.
As it stands now our defense isn't all junk. We've got a very good secondary and some DEs who can actually pressure the QB. Thats a major change from last year. What we need is for the linebackers to pull their heads out of their asses and to get Gordon out of the starting lineup. Go trial by fire with Thomas, I bet by week 7 or 8 he's a solid difference maker. Bench Gold for Lewis, he's a much more solid tackler.
If we'd made those changes this game we'd still have lost though. Jacksonville is the worst possible matchup in the league for us. A big, powerful OL blocking for two capable backs and a mobile QB. Our linebackers couldn't contain that yesterday, and our DL can physically match up to them. Then on offense we face a DL that is big and physically powerful, i.e. the primary weakness of our zone blocking system. They're basically the single worst team for us to play, yet we seem to play them nearly every season, I don't know how and I wish it'd stop.
I'd give us better odds against Indy than I would against Jacksonville.

This is easily the most retarded concept for a thread I've ever seen out of anyone not named Bob. The entire basis for the argument that none of us are professional athletes or professional "anything" is that professionals don't look ahead. That is classic. Professionals look ahead all the time, both in terms of actual games, and individual plays within games. Anyone who thinks they don't is really kidding themselves.

i think it's lame to question anyones loyality here. especially if they are just saying there are serious problems with our team. Personally my opinion is that our coach,, Mr cocky Shanny is the biggest problem out there on the field and has been now since we lost the last of our extremely talented team. His "Brilliant Offensive mind" was just a smoke screen. Yesterday proved that in more than just one way,,,, Kubiak, with a broken and young team almost takes Indy out, I guarentee Mikey has no clue how to do that unless he gives kubiak a call or looks at Old tapes where KUBIAK told him which plays to run.
Point is, i have been a Bronco fan my entire life, and i dont plan anything different for the rest of it, but being frustrated with your team or coaches has nothing to do with loyality, Losing faith in a team does not mean you are going to go put on a black and silver jersey, so please stop with the retarded, im a better fan you are a bandwagon jumper, blah blah blah a fan is a fan...
And the Broncos have played horrible the last 3 games, not just this last one, so i think its getting to the point where poeple can start to bitch and ask for improvemnts and analize what is going wrong.
On a possitive note, Cutler is amazing me and i think when him and the offense get a little more comfortable its going to be awesome.
What the hell happened to the great and mighty Jim Bates, so far its been worse than last year, this guy to jurrasic to coach anymore..
PS. I want our entire special teams fired, but before that to do a full week of suicides then cut loose, worthless bastards and that includes your guy's "hixon" that boy is retarded and should not be resonsible for running the ball to the water boy let alone for a kick.

I'm thinking I'm taking the week off from this board. This is getting out of hand. People are talking about our offensive line as if they were dominated by a ****ty defensive line. This is, with or without Henderson(Meier is no ****ing slouch), one of the best defensive lines in football. Yes, we had some problems on the offensive line, but none that can't be fixed. Yes, we had a ****ty day on defense. We missed tackles, and got the ball rammed down our ****ing throats. I think, however, that the biggest reason we got our asses handed to us on defense was wearing #9 on Sunday. He was great. I think Bates did a poor job of getting our guys ready for such a mobile quarterback, for starters. I think that we missed tackles all over the place, but after watching a bunch of games, I don't think this is a problem of the Broncos as much as it's a problem for the entire NFL. We need to work on it, obviously, but I don't think it's just happening to those wearing blue and orange. I think, as I have for the longest time, that our defensive tackles are a ****ing joke. However, of all the problems I've listed here, this is the only one that can't be fixed in practice by Shanny. If I were a betting man, I would never take the Broncos against the Colts, but we have the talent to beat them.
I'd just like to, if I may, point out the awesome things about today's game. Dumervil was a monster. Cutler was incredible out there, seeing as how he had ****ty protection and no run game. Marshall was electric. Sauerbrun is the man. Oh, and on that note, that was a good 4th down call, I don't give a **** what Randy Cross has to say about that. The Jaguars were absolutely chewing up the clock, and we had no timeouts. It was our only shot at getting 2 scores.

I totally agree, we do not match up well against smash mouth teams. We are built now to beat Indy. We will run the ball against Indy to keep their offence off of the field. Cutler will be called to make key third downs and keep the chains moving. Our secondary will be okay against Manning next week. I feel confident that we will win in Indy. One loss does not make a season. The season is a marathon not a sprint. I do see things that need fixing though, until we stop the run teams will continue to run it or try running it down our throats..
