Reading through the top 3 defenders thread it becomes apparent that, Urlacher aside, these are AFC players. After a little consideration, this is the same on the other side of the ball.

Top Defenders
1. Bailey
2. Merriman
3. Urlacher4. Sanders
5. Polamalu

Top Offensive Players
1. Manning
2. LT
3. Brady
4. Moss
5. Palmer

That's one player on both sides of the ball that I believe warrants top 5 consideration. In my eyes, even the top coaches are AFC: Shannahan, Belicek, Dungy, Fisher

No wonder there's no parity.

You're talking about players that are already vets (by many moons). I wonder which circuit has the "better", more exciting up and coming players. You can list Carson Palmer, Cutler, Young (ugh), and perhaps Rivers as among the AFC QBs to watch over the next several years. In the NFC, there's Romo, ummm, (help me out, guys)...ummm...... Well, I think you get the point.

But the bottom line is that the "names" mean nothing unless they produce for their teams and do it consistently. And against "adversity", as they say. I would suppose there are a number of other good players in the NFC that i have not heard of, so my list would be biased....

Frankly, I hardly know anyone over in the NFC. Don't need to know except when - and until - the Broncos play them. Don't watch the games on Fox unless the Broncos are on it for what ever reason.....

Randy Moss is off to a fabulous start but he fell out of the top five after he packed it in last year. Based on year-in, year-out production, it would be hard to rank Moss ahead of Marvin Harrison or Chad Johnson. Otherwise, it's a good list.

I disagree. I don't think Marvin Harrison or Chad Johnson would scare a defensive coordinator nearly as much as Randy Moss when you elimate other variables (who's throwing to him, running game, etc).

Same quarterback, same team, etc, I think Moss is the most dangerous WR in the NFL.
