I really don't care for Billick. He is a whiney piece of crap.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Ravens coach Brian Billick accused the New York Jets of using an "illegal" ploy to draw Baltimore offside during Sunday's game.

Billick said Monday that the Jets' defense shouted out signals to intentionally throw off the Baltimore offense. Billick claimed the tactic led to the three illegal procedure penalties against the Ravens.

"They did an outstanding job. I credit the New York Jets. Their defensive line and linebackers did a very, very effective job of illegally simulating the snap count," Billick said. "They did it the whole game long. It needs to be caught."

Tackle Adam Terry bolted offside in the first and third quarters. Tight end Quinn Sypniewski jumped in the first quarter.

"That's not an excuse by any stretch of the imagination. But it is illegal," Billick said. "Our guys have to deal with it. I don't know how to help my linemen with that because, you're in the heat of battle and you're calling the snap count, and the guy across from you is also calling a snap count -- which is illegal."

The Ravens won the game 20-13. Baltimore took a 20-3 lead into the fourth quarter but nearly wilted under a comeback by the Jets, who benefited from four fourth-quarter penalties against Baltimore.

For the game, New York received two penalties for 10 yards and the Ravens were penalized 11 times for 100 yards.

"You have to look at the nature of the penalties. First off, the fact that we had 11 penalties and they only had two and we dominated the game," Billick said. "I have a hard time understanding that the team that was playing so well and dominating had so many penalties and the other team had only two."

I dunno ... I too have a burning hatred for the man and his team. I don't know exactly why, but I do.

Problem is, he's probably correct here. Plus, he won the game, so its not sour grapes.

Why even bring this up. Isn't this a league matter at best? He is an attention whore.

He's on the NFL network now with his little post game whine.

Learned that from his MLB also known as God's and ESPN's golden boy.

I think this should be perfectly legal. A HUGE element of football is discipline, and if his player's don't have it, screw em.

i think billick is just trying to make a point.

he probably thinks it was hypocritical of mangini to call out the pats when every team in the league probably utilizes some tactic that goes beyond the rules to gain a competative advantage.

which is why he made a point to make this statement.

it also makes me thing that billick was also using video and is now pissed that he will no longer be able to.

There may indeed be a backlash against Mangini as a "snitch" so now the rest of the coaching fraternity will call him out on the slightest rule violations.

I see cheating all the time in baseball and I keep wondering why managers don't make more of it until I realized that probably every team cheats and nobody wants to be the first one to blow the whistle for fear of being exposed as a hypocrite.

Billick is a smug little turd. I can't wait til he's done coaching.

He's right, though. You're not allowed to do that. Unfortunately he should focus on getting his offensive line more disciplined rather than whining about the other team to the press.

Stupid Ravens. Their own linemen were probably barking out the snap count and confusing themselves.

I'm sure he's right...this is an issue for the refs however. It's not that hard to id this on the field and call the penalties.

This would probably have been a complaint to the league office rather than a public calling out if it wasn't for the video tape bit. The stones are getting thrown and I'm sure the whole neighborhood is glass, so this will be interesting.

Billick is a crybaby. Never have liked him, always felt he good labeled a good offence coach becasue they had good players on the Vikings. Got luck winning the Superbowl, it was the defence not anything he did on offence that they won their Superbowl. The Ravens should have fired him two years ago.

Then the refs should have called a penalty.

The bad thing is with all these punishments is the league has opened up the bitch and moan sessions. All this will take away from the actual games.
