View Full Version : Can we get the Hardy Boys to solve why we cant score despite our perfect coach and QB
mattbeymvp

This has to be the greatest mystery to befall mankind.
How can the Broncos fail to score when Travis Henry rushes for 100+ yards, and the team puts up 440+ total yards, when both our QB and coach are so great that they're immune to criticism?
Should we find a way to blame it on Jake Plummer just to be safe?

A scoop and a half? That's the standard 1/8 cup right? Sounds a little weak to me. I roll with Folgers Breakfast blend. I used to like the Classic Roast, but the breakfast blend is less bitter, and provides a much smoother taste.

I don't know where the blame is to be placed on this one, but it's not a new problem.
We have been a poor red zone producing team for a few seasons now.
Back in the day of Elway & CO, you just gave it to TD who would run it in for six from outside the red zone.
The blame, in my honest opinion, lays on one of three, or a combonation of all factors.
A penetrating blocking up front offensive line. I know we have succeeded in the past with a small and faster O-Line, but maybe you need a red zone group of bruiser blockers.
Same with RB. It's nice to have a Travis Henry who while an improvement from RB's of the past few years, still does not have the breakaway spped, or has not shown it so far, that TD had. But even TD was not a Red Zone performer.
In the day Mike Anderson was groomed for that. I think more attention needs to be placed on Cecil Sapp for those bruiser yards, like Anderson used to be good for.
Lastly, Shanahan needs to be more creative in those situations. I know we have a "rookie" quarterback, but if the status quo isn't making it, you have to experiment with the recipe to keep everyone hungry.
That being said, we have won too ugly games against inferior opponents. But they could just have easily been losses, both of them. The Broncos showed determination, and as they gain confidence as a team, maybe we won't be asking these things in this forum.
But the big dogs are coming. We need to find some answers soon

I whole heartedly agree. Many saw my pain at the tailgate on Sunday. Had some milk and later ate out. Guess what was good enough for my tummy. Yep, chicken salad. It was soo good. What was the question again? Maybe someone else should have started it and we can get down to seriousness of it. Oh wait, talking food is very serious. Carry on food jackers.

When I went to school in Boulder, the Sink had the best damm bar-b-que sauce ever that went on their sliders and also was slathered in cheddar cheese. I ate a couple of them and a pitcher after every ball game, and just before getting laid.
They still have that sauce?
Reminds me of the cottage cheese appetizer at the Northwoods Restaurant in Denver. That was absolutely great, just before you tapped into one of their Porterhouse steaks and a couple of beers just before I'd get laid. Steaks were damm good and the chick was responsive IIRC......

I think the answer is simple: we have a young offense who has a lot of chemistry building to do. I can't believe people aren't exstatic about our performance thus far. I expected to finish September 2-2. We're right on pace for where I thought we'd be, and the potential to surpass my personal expectations is within reach. One more win this month seals that.

Your guy Matt has a pretty good question. Cutler is the greatest QB to come into the league since Manning and Shanny might be the greatest coach of all time according to this board. So where is the problem?
Seems that most of this board turns into the Iraqi Information Minister when posed with a serious question that they don't want to hear. "They have not captured Bagdad and I'm eating pizza for lunch..."
