Broncos released TE/OT Chad Mustard.

His release made room for Stephen Alexander to come back.:notworthy ROFL!

A returning Stephen Alexander won't be a bad thing. I have a feeling that Shanahan wants to use more TE sets, but he's not really that comfortable with the arsenal we have at TE. Alexander has sure hands and WILL catch balls thrown to him...

Poor Mustard....released 3 times already?

One of these days, Shanny will call him.....and Mustard will probably say, "No thanks."

I think it's about times we just start bumping old "Mustard Cut" threads.

Time to expand the rosters of the NFL teams by 2 or 3.

It seems it was already planned

The flattering testimonials for Stephen Alexander were nice.

The implication the veteran tight end was finished with the Broncos, however, was premature.
"It was only temporary," Alexander said Sunday. "I'll be back (today)."
The Broncos had only six healthy offensive linemen as of Saturday morning and coach Mike Shanahan wanted one more reserve for the game Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. A bruised calf was going to sideline Alexander another week. Unable to use him as a backup at tight end or as an emergency backup tackle, Alexander was released and tackle/tight end Chad Mustard was re-signed. "I told Mike, 'Go ahead and release me, I can take it,"' Alexander said. "I wasn't going to be able to play, anyway. I should be good for next week (against Jacksonville), though."

I don't know what Mustard's contract is but assuming it's near the min each time he gets picked up for a game he's making a cool $25K to $30K. Not bad for a days work.
