Talk about your homefield officiating. I've never heard that call made. Especially when it gives the opposing team a first down on the one. Of course, Nebraska has always been able to depend on this kind of cheap crap.

So the refs give the Cornholers a TD. If I'm Pete Carroll, I run up the score on these bozos and rub this refs nose in it.

Did I hear that right. Purify got 1 game suspension for 2 DUI's over the summer. Jeezus, they go easy on them there. Our criminals got 4 games.

Think about who was one of the greatest RB's in Pink Skirts history. That explains their take on off the field discressions.

Haha...I actually did not mind them during the John Robinson era and Paul Hackett era, but when they started using SEC style tactics in recruiting, that turned me off to the program.

Didn't that guy holler out a snap count? That's against the rules at every level of the game.
Nebraska looking really good so far. Offense is definetly clicking and the defense looked good after completely sucking early on. If we keep this up and don't lose confidence, we should be alright.

So what do you thing of the Wolverines decleating Notre Dame? I think the Irish faithful are starting to wonder about Charlie Weiss.

We were doing OK as far as being in position, but we need to learn how to tackle.

I can't get over how bad this run defense is. I mean I expected us to have trouble after losing all of our starting D-line from last year, but this is just stupid.

No run defense and our offense sputtered. Now it looks we are just going through the motions.

You've got to give the SC Oline some credit. They're blowing the holes open on that line.

Stephon Johnson has 140 yds. for 11 carries. That's a 13 yard per carry average. Ouch!

Did we get spanked? Yes. Was it disappointing to see our run D so overwhelmed? Yes. Did it fell like 01 Colorado all over again at times? Yes. Is it time to throw away the season? Hell no.
We got drubbed by the #1 team in the nation, and while I certainly expected a better showing, we're going to have to move on. Our front four are inexperienced, and should get better. Our offense should keep us in all our conference games this year, because we aren't facing anything like we saw tonight unless we make in to the BIg XII championship and see OU.
We still aren't at the level of competing with SC, which is a disappointment to everyone who felt we might be able to take that step (myself included), but life moves on. It will be important to get better over the year and show improvement over last season. For all the mistakes he sometimes makes, I am excited to see what Keller can do over this season. I think we may see some big games out of him and the offense, and I'm going to enjoy the ride. Hopefully the defense will be able to come along for it as well!

Ugh we are never going to be back. I know that USC is the best team in the college right now but still we needed to show more then that. We played them better last year.

I'm very unhappy about the loss, but lets keep it in perspective here. This is kinda a limbo year for us as we lost all of our d-linemen from last year and it's also the last year for any of Solich's old players.
Callahan has been doing a great job recruiting the last few years, so it should start to pay off soon. If not, he has no more excuses.

You guys are doing fine, I think Callahan has been doing a good job in recruiting, Nebraska continues to improve...I just think this year, as Breck said in another thread, LSU, OU, USC and Florida are just way, way better than everyone else.

The recruiting is great but you would think it would start to show after awhile. I guess its just hard to take. I'm not saying fire him or anything but we HAVE to beat a top 10 team someday. We played them well to start with then we got away from the pass. Keller was hot and we should have stayed with it. In my mind a win against them would have really did wonders for the recruiting class that we have coming in this year. Its already loaded but it would have made it better. Oh well we have to win the North and play OU. Good thing Texas looks beatable.

It has started to show, believe me. Can you imagine what would have happened if we played that USC team in Callahans 1st or 2nd year?
I'm with you, we need to be able to beat a top 10 football team, but this may be a tough year for Husker fans. Depending on who takes over for Keller and how quickly they learn the system, next year but be tough too.

When it comes down to it if we had played better (made a few tackles on defense, not thrown interceptions) we still would have lost. SoCal is right, that there 3-5 teams this year way above the rest. It's no reason to panic. From what I have seen of Texas this year we're probably pretty close to them, which is no cause for shame. Winning last night was not nearly as important as improving on last year's conference record. Granted, I'm not sure the Big XII championship will be as winnable as it was last year, but I like our chances better against a top team like OU later in the year than right now.

USC used their Red Shirt Defense in the second half. They put in all of the red shirt freshmen.
I couldn't find it on the web edition, but if you have a Denver Post, read John Henderson's column on the game.
