Wasn't that one of the newspapers Al Gore is now blaming for sinking his
2000 presidential campaign by spreading lies about him?

Why would you think that or is that suppose to be tongue in cheek or something?

We've been assured time and again that Democrats aren't scum like the Republicans are. Perhaps that was mere partisan hyperbole? Help me figure it out!

Greed's criminals come in all flavors, just more seem to be Republicans when it comes to public officials.

Perhaps the NJ Democrats are just following in the footsteps of those pioneering Republicans.

Hard to argue against that.

So, our team has less scum then your team. Ok, I guess that is positive points? I am sure we can come up with a nice list of corrupt politicians and what party they fall onto. Just remember when Duke Cunningham got nailed, Kerry wanted a bill against politicians like Duke named the "Duke Cunningham Bill" even though there were approx. 5 Dems before him that were found to be "corrupt" and resigned/arrested and kerry didnt do anything much on those 5. It isnt who and how many. It is what is done inside the party that bothers me. Corrupt is corrupt either by payola or people like Craig who is morally corrupt. Personally, I dont like either even if they are Republicans.

I get it - the Democrats don't subscribe to any values, therefore, when they're scum, we should just expect it. Thanks for the information!

So out of all the people mentioned in that article who are the Democrats and who are the Republicans?

Of those whose party affiliation is mentioned, all are Democrats:

As part of the sweep this morning, federal agents arrested Mayor Samuel Rivera of Passaic; Assemblyman Mims Hackett Jr., a prominent Democrat who is also the mayor of Orange; and Assemblyman Alfred E. Steele, a Democrat from Paterson who is also the Passaic County Undersheriff.

Federal agents also arrested five current or former Pleasantville school board members, two Passaic city council members and the chief of staff to the president of the Newark City Council, prosecutors said.

I think the debate was/is their are many more Republican scum than Democrat scum (public office holders). Hard to argue against that.

Well, of course there's more Republican scum - they pretend to be moral, so when they get caught, they're hypocrites. At least Democrats make no pretension to morality, so we should just expect them to be scum. Right?

Well, of course there's more Republican scum - they pretend to be moral, so when they get caught, they're hypocrites. At least Democrats make no pretension to morality, so we should just expect them to be scum. Right? Why, because they don't pretend to be the voice of morality? Getting caught is getting caught, no matter what flavor you are, as I already stated, and I wouldn't want to argue numbers on the Republican side.

No joke.

This board is full of partisans (especially on the dem side of the aisle), so I wouldnt expect much but a bunch of deflecting and "I know you are but what am I?" types of insults crowned by anti-Bush cartoons and Bush-hate high-fives.

Isnt that the progression of nearly every thread to pass through this forum?

Bingo.

For some reason, W*GS and his fellow right-wing extremists don't seem to understand this distinction.

So two out of about a dozen mentioned were Democrats?

And you can count on W*GS to focus on those two dems with laser beam intensity while totally ignoring the two dozen republicans on the list.

How would you determine which party is home to more scumbags? What's the mapping between (say) Larry Craig and Robert Byrd? Or Duke Cunningham and Jim Wright?

And you can count on W*GS to focus on those two dems with laser beam intensity while totally ignoring the two dozen republicans on the list.

The total list as reported was 11; 2 were identified as Democrats - however, this is NJ, so most of the rest probably are. In any case, there aren't "two dozen".

You must have learned math in a teacher's union-controlled public school.

BTW, how's the job fluffing Chavez going? Is it bitter yet?

It's a great amp. We're in the studio right now and I couldnt have picked anything more appropriate next the the Matchless DC30.

It's nice having an amp that articulates every inflection of tone and that is as versatile as it is. It has a matched set of a greenback and a weber blue dog running 20 watts. Its a beautiful amp.

I am not sure if its going to be loud enough for me though. The other players are loud in a live setting. I'm not sure if mic'ing it would give me the presence that I want.

The tone is immaculate though. Smooth and rotund and breaks up just right when you dial it in right on the edge and dig in.

Beautiful machine.

It's been 10 years since I've performed on a stage, and I am out of practice in that regard...Will the amp still have the same resonance and presence in the mix? Will I lose tone?

My partner has a 120wt Orange head and our drummer smacks the skins pretty hard. We're loud.

If you mic the amp you should be able to set your stage level wherever you want it - as long as there's a decent monitor setup (and someone who knows how to run it) that allows you to hear yourself clearly in the mix.

Yep - provided there's a good PA and monitor setup (in-ear systems are the sh*t when you get them) and a capable sound person doing the mixing.

This summer I played a string of outdoor concerts using a THD Bi-Valve 30 watt head (single-ended Class A amp) exclusively. I wanted to travel light, i.e., only have to worry about bringing a head and a small pedal board, and use the backline cab on the date.

The other guitar player was using the backline amp on almost every date (usually a 100 watt Marshall or a Fender Twin) and I was still plenty large in the mix (credit the sound guy.)

In Wiggy World, if Exxon Mobil funds the campaign of Bush/Cheney and their corporate executives are then invited by Bush/Cheney to write the country's energy policy (in secret), thereby dumping billions of dollars into their pockets (and one presumes, the Bush/Cheney post term in office pockets), why, that's exactly equal to some alderman taking a bribe in some NJ township.
