I like that parlay. Little worried about Seahawks and skins for you though.
Disagree with quite a few of your other picks
for example
Panthers
Ravens
Lions
Texans

Didn't place my bets yet for the weekend action. For tonight I have +53 ... though I'm historically really bad @ betting the over/under.
This year I try to stay away from parlays.

Glad we're generating some discussion. I'll tell you why I chose those teams and then let me know if you agree/disagree and your basis for your decisions please.
I think the Seahawks made great upgrades to their defense via draft/free agency and I see Tampa Bay as a former stout defense that has aged severely and lost key personnel. I see Seattle's offense healthy and hungry for the playoffs again. I see Tampa's offense desperate with major questions on the line, RB, WR and QB.
I don't exactly think much of Washington, though I think Campbell is talented and will continue growing, you cannot deny the Portis/Betts punch and a defense with the best safeties in the league and great coaching. Miami on the hand is another aging team with a first year coach. Ronnie Brown is in the doghouse. Apparently so is Chambers (trade rumors). Trent Green is stop gap at best. I think Miami is in the cellar this year.
I LOVE Steven Jackson and the Rams offense. That being said, I think Delhomme had a poor year last year and is going to bounce back. Carolina's D is still a dominant force and the class of the NFC. I'm ready for them to punch the Rams offense in the mouth and move the ball with ease against St Louis's weak D.
As for the Ravens... simply put I can't take Cincinnati's defense seriously and think between the progression of Haloti Ngata, that defense is going to be too much for an offense line that lost a key player to free agency to handle.
A lot's being said about the turn around of the Raiders but until I see a few new faces on their offensive line I can't say that I buy it for a single second. Obviously the Lions have losing traditions of their own but their losing culture/attitude seems to have come to an end and I wouldn't be surprised to see them approach 8-8 while Oakland struggles to see 6 wins.
Texans and Chiefs was hard for me to decide. On one hand, KC still has gonzo and LJ. On the other, their O line is in shambles. Houston's Johnson should abuse Law/Surtain and I fully expect Kubiak to generate a running game with Ahman Green and turn Matt Schaub into a game manager at least, a playmaker at best.
Your thoughts?

I'm not sure about that Cowboys pick
I think we saw the best of the best of the Boys defense in the preseason and I'm waiting to see what they can do when the games count
I LOVE the STEELERS pick (-4.5)...that is a freebie
STAY AWAY from Tampa for a few weeks....i dont think anyone knows what to expect from them this year...last year their O-line was decimated by injury and they had a 3rd string QB in there...they left the defense on the field way too much and it was hard to get a read on them as to how good they are
other than that i agree with a great deal of the picks

Really? I think the Cowboys, Eagles, Saints and Bears are the only teams that have a prayer at representing the NFC in the Superbowl.
I like the Cowboys because I think they have a veteran offense with leadership and an above average playcall. I REALLY like the Cowboys because I think Wade Phillips is having a wet dream with all the talent on their defense. I think he's going to turn Ware into Merriman and then some, I think their DL and the rest of their LBs are extremely talented. I think Newman and Roy Williams give Wade something he didnt even have in SD... a secondary with playmakers to work with.

Seahwaks still have some questions on that o-line, will branch and Hackett step up? not impressed with thier D either, 6 is alot to give up week 1 with the team they had last year.

Green is an upgrade from qb last year, Brown should be better (since he is actually healthy this week), Champers can beat Skins d.....Campbell is good, but I don't like thier wr's. Washington could very easily cover but I wouldn't ever trust my money on them
I LOVE Steven Jackson and the Rams offense. That being said, I think Delhomme had a poor year last year and is going to bounce back. Carolina's D is still a dominant force and the class of the NFC. I'm ready for them to punch the Rams offense in the mouth and move the ball with ease against St Louis's weak D.
This is one of those games where I have to go with home team..If it was in Carolina I would go Carolina...Jax will keep the d-line honest and get Holt, Bruce & mcmichael some time......Again..only because Rams are at home
As for the Ravens... simply put I can't take Cincinnati's defense seriously and think between the progression of Haloti Ngata, that defense is going to be too much for an offense line that lost a key player to free agency to handle.
I agree with Cincy defense, but I feel the same way about Ravens Offense.

Obviously the Lions have losing traditions of their own but their losing culture/attitude seems to have come to an end and I wouldn't be surprised to see them approach 8-8 while Oakland struggles to see 6 wins.
This is tough one here too...Radiers HAVE to be improved..don't they? They had a good d, while Kitna is Kitna and will try to force things a little too much. You know what Radiers d gets in facing Tatum Bell..couple fumbles or some non made 3rd downs late by tripping himself.
Raiders win......I THINK

Houston's Johnson should abuse Law/Surtain and I fully expect Kubiak to generate a running game with Ahman Green and turn Matt Schaub into a game manager at least, a playmaker at best.
Not sold on that o-line in houston...I don't see Green doing much this season, and LJ even at half the carries will be good for a couple scores, which I think will be enough to beat Houston this week.

I think people are underestimating the Giants this year and those games usually are 4 point, 3 point games
I'm just saying that i would stay away from it given some of the other choices out there
Although i didnt really get going last year until Week 8 on my picks
and I rode VY and the Titans to about $600

I don't Seattle giving 6 is that much, especially considering it's a home game against what I feel is not only a scrub team, but the cellar of the NFC south. And you don't think Seattle's additions on defense improve that unit?
Green in KC was an upgrade over last year's Miami QB... Green in Miami post head trauma won't be an upgrade over last year's Miami QB. Ronnie Brown has no running room and is already in Cameron's doghouse.
Carolina/St Louis, I just don't think St Louis has done anything to take their team to the next level. Meanwhile I think Carolina has been at that next level and will roll over teams like St Louis on their way to the playoffs.
I also agree about the ravens offense.
Bleh, I'm not about to knock Tatum. He won several games single handedly with some lightning runs. He was everyone's hero when he carried Ray Lewis for five yards. A couple injuries later and everyone hates him. Henry is an obvious upgrade IMO, but Bell will play good football for the Lions.

Great Idea for a thread. I wish we had a sub-forum for that so we don't have to blend all issues together.
Anyway, here are my "money makers" for week 1.
I usually avoid prime time game and almost never parlay.
Deuce's game of the week:
St Louis Rams (-1) over Carolina Panthers.
Other games to consider:
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. Under 38
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars. Under 38
Minnesota Vikings (-3) over Atlanta Falcons.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets. Under 41
Chicago Bears (+6) over San Diego Chargers.

Sure!
St Louis Rams (-1) over Carolina Panthers.
The line for this game look very weak to me. The Rams defense got a lot better last year under new head-coach and I expect them to improve this year and despite a very mediocre preseason their offense is still good IMO. Steven Jackson and Bulger to Holt / Bruce can control the clock and score points.
On the other hand the Panthers look like a declining team. Other than Smith no one scares me in the lineup, their defense is still good (in the NFC) but not enough to take over a game.
Add the fact that it is Rams home opener and on turf and I just can’t understand how the Rams are not at least -3.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. Under 38
I will avoid the spread in this game but will take the under.
Both teams are much different than last year and both coaches will be conservative trying not to lose the first game. Kubiak will put the ball in his ‘new toy’ hand’s Green while Herm will be Herm.
Both QBs are not scoring machine and both defenses might be good enough to slow each other.
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars. Under 38
Once again I will go with Under 38 on this game (trendy pick for me).
The Jaguars defense is good enough to slow down whatever is left on the Titans offense, while Tennessee can focus on stopping Taylor/Jones with 8-9 in the box. Gerrard have almost no threats to work with.
Should be a hot and humid weather that will not help.
Minnesota Vikings (-3) over Atlanta Falcons.
Atlanta problem are well documented. The coaching change in Atlanta will also help the #1 rush defense of last year to stop the ground game which look very anemic in preseason. Harrington to Horn just doesn’t sound dangerous.
The Vikings will rely heavily on the ground game and defense. If they can rattle Harrington they will sail for an easy win.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets. Under 41
Not much reasoning here, I just have a feeling of a low scoring, field position battle. Wouldn’t invest much here.
Chicago Bears (+6) over San Diego Chargers.
It will take the Chargers few weeks to adjust to the new coaches, the Bears defense is still very strong and I see them going after Rivers with multiply packages. Chicago can score in many ways against an unorganized, undisciplined Norv’s squad.
6 points is just too much IMO.

First time I bet was 2 seasons ago. I did ok on spreads, bad on over/under and really well on player bets (yards, completions etc., I really like those, but here nobody seems to play them...). Made 10 single bets every week and hit about 60-70 %, so around midway of the season I was at ~400. Then someone here hit pretty big on a parlay and I was tempted. Then I was really close on some parlays and tried them every week from then on. Well, at the end of the season, I had nothing ;D

This just seems like a no brainer. From the QB in Atlanta to Minns defense seems like easy money.

I started off on the right foot by fading Stanford again last week. They won't be the automatic go-against they were last year, though. Harbaugh had them competing hard in the second half last week, but UCLA was just too much for them.
These are the plays I'm considering for today:
Georgia -3 1/2 Vs South Carolina - The Bulldogs pitched an 18-0 shutout when these teams met last season in Columbia and I think the Gamecocks will be hard pressed to score many points today in Athens. South Carolina gave up 252 yards on the ground to Louisiana-Lafayette last week. I think Georgia could blow them right off the field. This is my top play of the day.
Not nearly as confident about a couple other games:
Boise State -3 @ Washington - The Huskies are flying high after smoking an overmatched Syracuse team last week and they should have their peckers up as home underdogs to a team from the WAC. I think the Broncos defense will put up a sterner challenge, especially against a sophomore quarterback making his second start. I also believe Boise State's multiple looks on offense will give an inexperienced Washington secondary fits all day. The Broncos want to build off of last year's remarkable season and they know the only way to gain respect is to beat quality opponents from the major conferences.
South Florida +7 @ Auburn - Big step up in class for the Bulls, but I'm counting on super-sophomore QB Matt Grothe and the rugged South Florida defense to keep it close. The Tigers barely pulled out their game against Kansas State last week and they gave up five sacks in the process. Auburn has suspended their top RB due to academic problems, so they're going to have to throw the ball to win. The South Florida defense only allowed 20 touchdowns all of last season and I don't think they're going to get pushed around by a one dimensional Auburn offense. Hopefully, Quentin Groves doesn't take over the game in the second half. He must be accounted for on every snap.
How's it goin' Slap?
I've got a 3 team parlay at the moment for tomorrows early games...
Steelers -5.5
Rams -1.5
Patriots -6

I like Philly -3 @ Green Bay tomorrow. The Lambeau advantage is non-existent anymore. They're 10-15 in their last 25 games at home. I also think McNabb is healthy and eager to prove something. More importantly, Brian Westbrook is healthy this early in the season, and when he's at 100%, he's as good as anybody in the League.
I also think Minnesota -3 Vs Atlanta is a strong play. The Falcons won't be able to run, so it will be up to Harrington to win the game. Just have to hope Tarvaris Jackson doesn't screw the pooch.
I'm considering Seattle -6 Vs Tampa Bay. The Bucs have nothing on offense and I believe a healthy Shaun Alexander will eventually wear down their defense.

I added Oregon +8 @ Michigan, but this Boise ticket is in big trouble.
Boise is down 14-0 and they had a 97 yard kickoff return called back. They just forced a turnover and immediately hit a 40 yard bomb down to the two right now, though. They just punched it into the endzone. This could be a ballgame after all.

Yea that could be a close one. 2 QB's who can run with it if all else fails. MJD and fragile freddy on one side and White and Brown on the other. I would imagine that the Jags will have the better D.

Week #1 is always tough for the obvious reasons. I expect things to get better from now on.
I missed bad on my game of the week (Rams) but overall was 3/6.
When you are trying to evaluate how good your picks were for the weekend, don’t only look at the final results (W/L). One ‘tool’ I use, is asking myself if the same game was to be played next week, would I make the same pick or not?
Deuce's game of the week:
St Louis Rams (-1) over Carolina Panthers. :thumbsdow
Other games to consider:
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans. Under 38
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars. Under 38
Minnesota Vikings (-3) over Atlanta Falcons.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets. Under 41 :thumbsdow
Chicago Bears (+6) over San Diego Chargers. :thumbsdow
Looking at my games, Rams and probably Patriots/Jets were bad picks. I would still take the Bears (+6) over SD.
I usually avoid MN games, and will do so tonight. Good luck!

I'll be picking every game again on wednesday/thursday, but the Colts giving 7 to Tennessee is free money.
I won my two team parlay with the Seahawks and Cowboys last night so that made up for the earlier loss plus a few bucks.

5-2 in the NFL after week one.
Green Bay pick 'em @ NYG - Looks like a solid play. The Packers extremely underrated defense should manhandle the Hefty Lefty.
New Orleans -3 @ Tampa Bay - Is this a trap game or what? Based on talent, you would think think the spread here should be at least 7 points. I doubt I'll find this game at a straight 3, but will still probably play NO at 3 and a hook.
Minnesota +3 @ Detroit - Might yet talk myself off this one, but getting a field goal in this matchup is attractive. I could see Peterson running wild against that Lions defense.
Atlanta +10 1/2 @ Jacksonville - What the **** are the Jacksonville Jaguars doing laying double digits to anybody? They look to me like a team that's looking for a soft place to lay down until they can get their coach fired.
Also looking hard at some other games on this card. Houston is catching 6 1/2 @ Carolina. I'll definitely get on the Texans if that number moves to 7.
San Francisco +3 @ St Louis is another interesting game. Losing Pace is going to probably destroy the Rams season. Their O line was barely average with him in the lineup.

Ohio State -4 @ Washington is the college play that's jumping off the board at me. The Buckeyes lost a ton of talent to the draft, but they've still got way more team speed than the Huskies have seen so far. I thought this line would be at least 7 points.

Ugh, this week is going to be interesting. There are a lot of road favorites with low spreads.
Cincy -6.5 @ Cleveland
Indy -7 @ Tennessee
New Orleans -3.5 @ Tampa
Dallas -3.5 @ Miami
The question is, which one of these teams is going to tank? One of them will. Road games in the NFL are tough, period. I'm thinking Cincy is a lock, especially with the QB drama in Cleveland. Indy too, they're just too powerful. I'd probably take New Orleans, but I'm not 100% confident on that. Same goes for Dallas. I'll probably just end up betting Cincy and Indy... Perhaps I'll put a small bet, like 5 or 10 bucks, on a 3 or 4 way parlay just to see if I can hit. But I think I will concentrate on Indy and Cincy.

5-2 in the NFL after week one.
Green Bay pick 'em @ NYG - Looks like a solid play. The Packers extremely underrated defense should manhandle the Hefty Lefty.
I like the Pack in this one as well. GB manhandled The Egirls offense last week. I know McNabb was coming off a big time injury but McNabb at 75% is 10 times better than Lorenzen at 100%. The Pack also contained Westbrook and last I checked, Tiki Barber is retired. The Giants WR's and Te are much better then anything the Egirls have to offer but, someone has to get them the ball.
I also like the under in this game. I can't see the Giants getting more then 10 points if they are lucky. As bad as the Giants D looked Sunday night, GB's offense was only able to put 2 field goals on the board. The TD came on a muffed Punt which was kicked into the endzone and recovered by the Pack. GB was the beneficiary of another muffed punt at the Egirls 25 yardline that lead to the game winning FG.
I like GB and the under.
New Orleans -3 @ Tampa Bay - Is this a trap game or what? Based on talent, you would think think the spread here should be at least 7 points. I doubt I'll find this game at a straight 3, but will still probably play NO at 3 and a hook..
If the line moves to 7, I don't care. This could be a trap and Vegas is dying for people to jump all over the Saints. Guess what? If it's a trap, I will fall into it. I can't see TB slowing the Saints down after they were embarrassed in front of everyone in the NFL. Add to that, the Saints had more time to prepare. TB has major injury issues on O. That is their weak point to begin with. Galloway and Cadillac are either doubtful or questionable depending where you look. No way will TB stay within 10 at the end, let alone 3.
Minnesota +3 @ Detroit - Might yet talk myself off this one, but getting a field goal in this matchup is attractive. I could see Peterson running wild against that Lions defense..
I don't like it. I don't want to touch either side here. Minn has taken 14 out of 15 in this matchup but Detroit's O looks tremendous. Minn has an awesome run D but their Pass D was weak last season. Detriot thrives on the pass. I don't like Tavaris Jackson at all but Dump offs and swing passes to Pederson could potentially kill Det all day. I could make a case for both teams in this game and that's why I won't touch it.
The other game I like alot is Dallas laying 3 1/2 to Dallas. Miami's O doesn't scare anyone and Dallas is loaded on O. I can see Dallas putting up 30-35 especially when the Skins put up 20 with half the talent.
One more.... SD +3 at NE. One word- REVENGE. The Chargers, LT especially have been waiting 7 months for this game. They are licking their chops. I think they will be highly motivated to, not beat, but, destroy NE. One more thing is that one has to think this whole "stealing signs" controversy has to be a bit of a distraction to the Pats. I may not go large on this game but I will place something on it.

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans. Under 46

Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) over Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals looked very bad last week, anemic offense and very sub-par on defense. Alexander should have a big game and the Card’s O-line will struggle to open running lanes and protect the QB.
Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans. Under 46
46 points is a very high number when on one side you line the Titans. The Titans surprised me last week and I will avoid picking winner here but I think they will either keep it close and low or get blown up by 3 TDs and still can’t see 46 points here.
St Louis Rams (-3) over San Francisco 49ers.
I will give the Rams one more chance as favorite at home against a team they usually kill on regular basis. The 49ers didn’t impress and Steven Jackson should be back in form.
N.Y. Jets @ Baltimore Ravens. Over 33
Questions about both QB here, but I think we’ll see few scores here from offenses and probably defenses. The Ravens game plan last week was very radical and I don’t think Brian Billick is ready to give up on that even with Boller.
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions. Under 42.5
The Vikings showed last week their defense is still ‘in form’ but the offense still struggle to find points. The Lions will ‘fill the box’ and will try to play to the Vikings disadvantage on offense. On the other hand I don’t see the Lions scoring in triple digits again…
Tampa bay buccaneers WIN (+170) over New Orleans Saints. <--- upset special
Two things play for me here:
1. Every year at least one team surprisingly start the season 0-2, the Saints are my pick this year. They looked very bad last week, and TB defense can still do some damage.
2. Jeff Garcia. Winner (?)(!)

No, because he won't be 100% and I expect Kampman and Jenkins to fold, spindle and mutilate him. My only fear in this game, and its the fear anytime you play Green Bay, is Favre might have one of his games from Hell.
The only game I have etched in stone right now is New Orleans.

Absolutely. I know the boys haven't give people a ton to be confident about, but IMO, 3 points in Denver is too small of a line to pass up. At the least, you've got a good shot at pushing if they just win by a FG.
I'm not crazy about betting on them either, but I'm taking it this week.

Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) over Minnesota Vikings.
In recent years I made a small fortune betting on the Chiefs at home, especially when they look bad. Arrowhead is a tough place to play, and the Vikings are notoriously bad on the road (although it is improving since the new HC). Home opener and 0-2 the Chiefs should win easily. I will go very “light” here though, since I’m 0-2 and the Chiefs do look terriable.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Seattle Seahawks. Under 49.5
49.5 ??, I know that the Browns covered that alone last week but this is still the NFL. Both teams will try to bounce back after last week, and the coaches will try to first strength the defensive side. Small chance of rain can also help.
San Diego Chargers @ Green Bay Packers. Under 43
Two good defenses. I’m not sold on the rejuvenated Favre hype, the Packers will struggle to score and will slow down the Chargers. Norv is feeling some heat and will stay conservative (+ Rivers looked very bad last week)
N.Y. Jets (-3) over Miami Dolphins.
0-2 Jets is a much better team IMO than 0-2 Dolphins. At home I will go with the Jets.
St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Under 38.5
Rams defense is much better than the Aints, the Buccaneers are not yet a powerhouse. On the other side the Rams will, once again, have problem protecting Bolger.
Denver Broncos (-3) over Jacksonville Jaguars.
I almost never look at the Broncos games, but this one is a steal IMO.

Jacksonville @ Denver -3

That was a good reminder why I usually avoid Broncos’ games, still can’t believe they lost at home to an expansion team. Got ‘back on track’ with my game of the week, but it wasn’t easy, I will try to get back to 50% next week.
Deuce's game of the week: (season 0-2-0, 0%)
Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) over Minnesota Vikings.
Other games to consider: (season 6-3-1, 67%)
Cincinnati Bengals @ Seattle Seahawks. Under 49.5
San Diego Chargers @ Green Bay Packers. Under 43 :thumbsdow
N.Y. Jets (-3) over Miami Dolphins. ???
St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Under 38.5

3 overs: Browns, Patriots, Raiders, Cowboys, Giants.
3 unders: Chiefs, Titans, Vikings, Rams.
3 Wins ats: Patriots, Steelers, Titans, Cowboys, Packers.

Out of 13 games, so far, there are 9 home underdogs.
As for the 4 home favorites, how about: (-4), (-9.5), (-11.5) and (-11.5)
Carolina, I believe, will be at (-3) with Delhomme and maybe a point less without.
Nothing jump out at me for the moment, but with so many road favorites there should be some nice action this week.

I hate huge lines, but I may have to take Dallas. The Rams suck, and are without Steven Jackson on top of it.

When I go to Vegas (which is not often), I exclusively bet with super teasers. I have an ultra conservative strategy. Usually just the minimum 4 teamer. This is what I would think about this week if I were going to Vegas which unfortunately I am not (5 games, need to take it down to 4..all these spreads include the 6 pt. super teaser):
Louisville -3 at NC State
At Troy -6 La. Monroe (FREE MONEY)
Iowa State +28.5 At Nebraska
One of the following:
At Miami -17 Duke
At Washington +27 USC
Don't know which of the two would be safer, Washington is pretty decent this year...and generally play well at Husky Stadium, 27 is a healthy margin...however USC is a threat to go for 50 any game and I am fearful there. I feel good about my Canes being able to beat Duke by at least 17 (ties win) at the Orange Bowl, esp after last week's game against the Aggies. It's still not a lock, though, we did lay an egg at home vs. FIU with just a 23-9 win which was pathetic the week before A&M, I still think its an ok bet, but not as good as I feel about the above 3 in the superteaser (especially Troy......I know Louisville lost last week but I think they were just down about the UK game, I know their D is bad, but that offense will shred a really bad NC State team...Nebraska's D is horrible, they should have lost at home to Ball St., all ISU would need is about 25 points against that D to make it almost impossible for Nebraska to overcome the 28.5).
Slappy, what are your thoughts on these games?

Baltimore -4
Pittsburgh -6
New England -7 (Might also want to take the over 52.5)

Dallas -13 (I hate big lines like this. However, Dallas most likely will demolish the Rams, who suck and will not have Steven Jackson running the ball. Oh and Bulger has broken ribs. Still might play, but he's hurting.)

Other games to consider: (season 8-5-2, 62%)
Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions. Under 45
Atlanta Falcons (+2.5) over Houston Texans.
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins. Over 41
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers. Over 39.5
San Francisco 49ers WIN (+110) over Seattle Seahawks. <--- upset special

Chicago Bears (-3) over Detroit Lions.
After the 2-0 start the Lions got back to earth last week. The Bears (even with the “new” QB) should handle them easily. The Bears defense should torture Kitna and the RBs, and the offense should do much better with Rex on the sidelines.
Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions. Under 45
The Bears should be able too shut most of the Lions offense on one side but will not be able to blow them out on the other. Score will be around 20-10.
Atlanta Falcons (+2.5) over Houston Texans.
This is what I call a “house bet”. The line looks to small and everyone is betting Houston here. Vegas is not stupid, yet the line doesn’t really move.
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins. Over 41
This game doesn’t appear to me as a defensive battle. Both teams will have few scoring drives and both teams might give some costly turnovers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers. Over 39.5
Just a hunch.
San Francisco 49ers WIN (+110) over Seattle Seahawks. <--- upset special
The Seahawks are favorites by 1.5-2, which is almost a pickem. Both teams didn’t impress me yet, I’ll surrender the points and will go with the home team

But since I’m not, I’ll just keep quite about it.
Well I put 10 bucks on the 'boys tonight -11.5 so hurry and bet on the bills. They're sure to win now.
Do you know that until yesterday the last time I bet on the Broncos was the SB we lost 55-10. Now yesterday 41-3. I will not jinx our boys like that ever again.

Strong weekend for me. The Chiefs, obviously, was a terrible bet but I feel just as happy with the Jets’ miss.
Both Chiefs and Broncos used to be a very good bet as a low favorites / underdogs at home. I wouldn’t put dime on them right now.
Another thing to look at: Vegas is doing very good this year, thank you for asking. The public is wrong on most consensus picks of 70% or higher. Something to look for in the next few weeks.

As for myself, I did a quick look back after 30 games and 5 weeks.
I’m edging just over 50% something I need to improve (I usually finish the season around 63%) but when I break down my picks:
Against the Spread: 5-7-1 (41.7%)
Over / Under: 9-4-1 (69.2%)
Upsets: 1-2 (33.3%)
Overall: 15-13-2 (53.6%)
I’m usually better on O/U but this year the discrepancy is too big. Need to push ATS back to 50% and keep up the good work O/U.
I will look back at my database later and will post a few trends.

I think the Ravens will continue to suck against the number. I think the Bills +3.5 @ home is a great play today. The Ravens are banged up and, to a man, the Bills defense has expressed a strong desire to kick Willis McGahee's ass today. McGahee knows it and has spent the whole week hiding under a rock, trying to say the right things when the media comes around to instigate.
I also like the Texans +1.5 as home dogs today. Tennessee has been a fantastic cover team since VY took over, but everybody is aware of it now and I expect a market correction. The lines adjusted on them two weeks ago. Now they're road favorites behind Kerry Collins? That doesn't make sense to me.
The Lions -2.5 @ home is my final game this morning. Tampa Bay has injuries on the corner and the Lions get Megatron Johnson back in the lineup @ 100% today. I think the matchup problems will be there all day for Tampa and Kitna just has to be patient and exploit them.

Some interesting line movements this week. San Diego opened -8 @ Minnesota. Almost all the money coming in is on the Chargers, yet the number has dropped to San Diego -7. Logic dictates the number should be moving the other way. This indicates a lot of wise guy money on the Vikings this week.
The play I like best is Buffalo catching a point at home against a Cincy team that has flat out quit on Marvin Lewis.
I also think Dallas -3 @ Philly is kind of attractive. The Eagles are in so much turmoil right now. I hesitate slightly because all the recent trends between these two teams point to Philly. Also, being a home underdog in a national TV game against a division rival is going to provide some degree of motivation. Still kicking this one around, but leaning towards Dallas.
^ Well I like Minnesota, Buffalo and Dallas so you better go the other way ;D

Picks in bold.
Date & Time Favorite Line Underdog Total
11/4 1:00 ET Washington -3.5 At NY Jets 35.5
11/4 1:00 ET At Kansas City -2.5 Green Bay 37.5 I think GB will have a little hangover from the high last week, KC tough at home.
11/4 1:00 ET At Tampa Bay -3.5 Arizona 38.5 Coin flip here.
11/4 1:00 ET At Tennessee -4 Carolina 35.5 Carolina is a great road team but is a mess at QB.
11/4 1:00 ET At Atlanta -3 San Francisco 37 SF is overrated and ATL has been great ATS all year.
11/4 1:00 ET At New Orleans -3.5 Jacksonville 40 Jax getting points here is a good value in my opinion even though NO is playing better. Due for a let down.
11/4 1:00 ET At Detroit -3 Denver 46 Denver has been the worst team ATS last two years, enough said.
11/4 1:00 ET At Buffalo PK Cincinnati 43.5 Buff is undefeated at home ATS and Cincy has played bad enough to cost Lewis his job so I wonder why I picked them.
11/4 1:00 ET San Diego -7 At Minnesota 41.5 Don't really feel anything on this one other than if SD scores 20+ they should cover.
11/4 4:05 ET At Cleveland -1 Seattle 46.5 I have missed all year on these two coin flip.
11/4 4:15 ET New England -5.5 At Indianapolis 56.5 When was Indy getting points at home over past few years? NE is due to lose ATS.
11/4 4:15 ET At Oakland -3 Houston 41.5 Coin flip so I'll take the points
11/4 8:15 ET Dallas -3.5 At Philadelphia 46.5 PHI is a mediocre and Dallas plays well in spotlight. Coach Reid has more than football going on I like Dallas.
Balt +9 vs Squeelers. Don't feel anything here so I'll take points in a rival game.

Indy -3.5 @ SD
I just think the Colts are on a different level than the Chargers and I'm sure they're still angry about letting New England off the hook last week.
Also, small plays on these two games:
Ten -5 Vs Jax
Risky because the Titans usually play everybody tight, but I'll be surprised if the Jags are able to do much on offense today. Crap. Already down 7-0.
StL @ NO Over 46.5

Pats -16.5 sems like a lock to me. They win 45-10 or there about
I kinda like Houston +6.5 and minnesota +3
Not too many other lines there I would touch.
