You have the number 10 team in the country coming to town and your stadium is only 80% sold out according to the Post. If you want college ball to be taken seriously in Colorado you need to step up and support your team.

Sad that college ball in Colorado is not supported the way it should be isnt it? Why the hell CU and CSU cant sell out their stadiums half the time is pathetic.
I blame the apathy on all the johnny-come-lately people who fouled up the state by moving to Colorado and not supporting the teams, the alumni from out of state who dont throw their support to our teams and to the Denver media for not supporting the buzz that these clubs should create every week.
How I long for a SEC or Texas school type of fanbase

You should go up there Garcia. Ft. fun is only an hour away and they have good micro breweries in town. I would go, but the wife has me locked into plans Sat morning.

Its sad that our schools couldn't sell out Mile High for the game. This was the first year in 6 that I have missed going. If it doesn't sell out it will be played on home fields again and that takes the fun and special feeling out of it for the fans.
Plus when you don't sell out the games the teams who have a fan base infest your stadium. I have season tickets to CU and I see it all the time.

Personally, I hope there is never another CU football game at Invesco. It's funny if you read and listen to the media, they've portrayed the last two games at invesco failures because they did not sell. I think there has only been one sellout at Mile/Invesco in this series history in 2003. Meanwhile, the 2004-2005 CSU/CU games at Folsom were electric and sell outs.
Sucks that there are still 4,000 ticket left for the FSU game.

It looked pretty packed on TV. I guess the cameras knew which areas of the crowd to shoot...

The upper deck was maybe half full. The lower levels looked to be pretty full.

This is how a real college football fan supports his team:
http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=710120
"Mitch Lavinghouze, from Jackson, Miss., attended his 400th consecutive Ole Miss game last week. During that stretch, he has had two sons serve as kicker for the Rebels."
That's 35 years+/- attending every game home and away for a team that has been a loser more than a winner.

Has this been a long lingering problem with CU or just recently following the Rape scandal?

I have been going to CU games for 30 years. Had season tickets for about 15 years. I split tickets with another guy now. I did sit on the east side south corner above the student section Now I sit right on the 50 yard line. My problem with the crowd has always been that they are a social crowd and seem to care little about football. I'm trying to watch the game and people on each side of me are debating politcs or discussing day care centers. Like Pez says, we need real college football fans in the stands. I bet if you asked what conference Tennessee is in half would get it wrong.

Fickle CU fans has alway been a problem, but that's not unique to CU. Hell, even SC during the 90s was about 60-70% full.
After this got brought up here and on a CU board I post at, I decided to take a look at the numbers for CU. Since 2001, they have been somewhere between #30-40 in Average game attendance in the country .
Here's a look at how full the stadium was in terms of %
1998 91%
1999 92%
2000 96%
2001 91%
2002 95%
2003* 94%
2004 89%
2005 94%
2006 86%
*First season with new club seats and luxury boxes.
It's not quite as bad as some would have you believe.

I have tickets to FSU and Misery. Might make another game dependong on my travel schedule. Let me know again where you tailgate. we sometimes hook up with others over at the Harvest House (whatever it is called now) and harrass the opponent's fans.

You are on rivals, correct?
We are going to have a good long TG for FSU. Big tailgate too. You should definitely stop by.

I have stopped into Rivals a couple of times. Mostly just try to stir up troulbe with the kids. Do they have a separate CU or Big 12 board? I check out a Big 10 and an SEC board quite often as I see a lot of those games.

I will say the Folsom is an awesome field and why you guys don't sell it out every game is a mystery to me. I wish I could make it up for the OU Game.
Wish you guys the best vs. FSU...ITS DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL! IT'S THE BIG XII! GO PLAY INTRAMURALS BROTHA!
I love that! I really do enjoy Hawkins...
