Raiders Cut DE Moses By Mistake (http://mvn.com/nfl-cardinals/2007/09/02/thanks-oakland-cardinals-jump-on-moses-after-raiders-reportedly-cut-him-by-mistake/)
Can't sign their #1 pick, cut a promising rookie who reportedly had done well throughout pre-season and camp. This franchise is a joke.

You would think somebody like Al Davis or Lane Kiffin would take a glance at the cut list before it was faxed to the NFL. What a dysfunctional organization.

MOSES WASN'T CUT BY MISTAKE
Despite from Internet rumors and reports that the Raiders accidentally released defensive end Quentin Moses, the team's third-round pick in the 2007 draft, an industry source tells us that the cutting of the rookie was not the result of a mistake.
Moses received a $610,000 signing bonus when he signed with the Raiders, and will keep that money as he heads to the Cardinals, who claimed him on waivers. For the Cardinals, it made their decision to dump third-rounder Buster Davis (who also received a $610,000 signing bonus) a wash.

This is like when Al Davis denied Adam Schefter's report about the imminent firing of Art Shell.

They would never admit it, but Kiffin had a laundry list of reasons that Moses was cut. I personally think they meant to cut him. It would be a nice story if it was true...for us and the Cardinals, anyway.

The only bummer for Moses is that he left a crappy team and got picked up by a $hitty team.

Thats kind of funny really. I was thinking yesterday about the cuts and what the processs is on how they do it. Does Shanny send his right hand man to go around with a list of players. Then he taps them on the shoulder and says the man wants to see you. Or does Shanny bring everyone in individually and tell them they either made the cut or didnt ? Or what if they cut the wrong guy by accident thru the paperwork, just like the Faid allegedly did. Maybe I cursed the Faiders by thinking this yesterday...YES !

Either way it is equally pitiful and funny...Either they accidently cut their 3rd rounder by mistake or they drafted a guy on the first day that couldn't even make the roster. Either their administration skills are horrible or their talent evaluation.....or likely both.

I heard that Kiffin wanted to keep Moses but Davis cut him anyways and got into a big tiff with Kiffin.

that's what I've been seeing, too ... if only Al Davis would accept more of the responsibility of the Raiders' failures in recent years, he would do the organization a favor and fire himself. He sure does know how to place blame :loopy:

It seemed like a strange cut for sure. Moses had at times been projected as high as late-1st/2nd rounder ... I am not surprised he was immediately picked up. He is definitely the Bates type, long and lean and fast. Maybe a 3-4 team could make something out of him.
Either way - accident or on purpose - this is humiliating for Al. And to think 400 might be right, that Al's hollering with the new guy already? :oyvey:

It sounds like Al, doesn't it? Why would be bother to consult with the 32 year old tool he hired?

Despite his lousy senior season, he was a high character guy. Didn't fit with the Fade.
