I saw David Diaz-Infante doing some color analysis of one of the college games the other day, and it gave me an idea for a thread. kind of a where are they now thing. Lets see how many former broncos we can come up with that are still in the spotlight in some way.

Not currently playing obviously ... okay:

TD (NFL Network)
Shannon Sharpe (CBS, unindicted co-conspirator in Vick case)
Elway (Circuit City commercials with Ditka)
Floyd Little (auto dealer, book by The Moops)
Reggie Rivers (FSRM)

Tom Jackson (ESPN)

Mark Schlereth (ESPN)

Okay, I got the easy ones outta the way ...

Why? Because he owns a pitbull?

Glenn Milburn is part owner of an arena football franchise here in Austin.

Oh, and about Diaz-Infante. He did a pretty good job. Who knew these linemen could actually speak.

He's owned numerous pitbulls, initially defended Vick, said "leave him alone," and was known to socialize with him. We don't know of course, but I put 2 and 2 together.

BRATTON BOLTING FOR DEBARTOLO'S SHOP

Several weeks ago, there were strong rumors that recruiter Melvin Bratton would leave the firm of Lock, Metz & Malinovic. While seemingly insignificant on the surface, such a move could have huge ramifications for the last remaining unsigned rookie -- No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell. Bratton delivered Russell to LMM, and many believe that Russell will follow Bratton.

The story died down after it appeared that Bratton has been persuaded to stay put.

But we're now told that Bratton is telling members of his current crop of recruits that he's definitely heading to Eddie DeBartolo's agency.

The big question is whether Russell chooses to leave, too.

If he does, the decision has to be initiated with Russell, in theory. Bratton is not allowed to contact Russell, in theory.

Russell's current agents would be entitled to compensation for the time that they have devoted to his negotiations, if Russell makes a change. If the deal gets done before Russell leaves, the current agents would receive the entire fee unless and until a new deal is negotiated.

As reported by www.profootballtalk.com

I believe this is our fullback from years back.

Here's some fringe players that ended up in the CFL.

Jarious Jackson, former 3rd stringer QB is now with the BC lions and is currently starting because of injuries to the incumbant Dave Dickenson (former backup QB with the Chargers)

Matt Dominguez, former WR in 2002. Made a career in the CFL with the Roughies in Saskatchewan.

John Avery, we traded Marcus Nash for this guy from Miami back in 99. Now a veteran RB with the Argos in Toronto, he played backup to Ricky Williams last year.http://canoe.ca/Argos/Team/Roster/John_Avery.html

Adrian Madise, was a promising 3-4 WR back in 2003-04. Great moves and great speed, but was a little small and had hands of stone.

He ended up getting cut by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this year. Current whereabouts: unknown.

Wow, if Shannon is involved in dog fighting it would break my heart.

I was in medical school at CU with Tom Lyons, starting left guard for the Broncos in the early 70's (played 71-76).

Started up through 76, when he quit the team to continue school, graduated 1977.

I can remember him talking about studying for tests on the plane flying to and from games. I was always amazed he could do medical school and play for the Broncos at the same time.

He's a very accomplished gynecologic surgeon in Atlanta now. Conducted the Denver Symphony as a guest conductor one night, he's also a very skilled pianist.

Wow....a fellow Ottawan. Here's a couple more from the CFL (not exactly in the spotlight but more of a "where are they now").

Brandon Browner - Undrafted FA from 2005. Currently in Calgary.
http://www.stampeders.com/index.php?module=roster&func=display&ros_id=1139

Kliff Kingsbury - Stuck around for a cup of coffee on the practice squad in 2005. Currently in Winnipeg.

Todd Devoe - Was signed by Toronto in Feb but is not on the roster now.

He was a Brown.

You're reaching here. There is no evidence outside of owning a pitbull and him defending Vick. Do you know how many people have been defending Vick? Does that make them all also dog killers? He also hasn't defended him after it was discovered what he was doing. Unless something incriminating is brought out against Sharpe, to me he's a dog owner who thought Vick was getting a bad wrap.
