We could use his skills, but not the person. Good riddance.

Couple tidbits from Shefter
Denver and STL in the hunt for Simeon Rice
GB looking to acquire a RB this weekend either through trade or waiver wire.
They run the ZBS so HOU and DEN may be where they look first.
Bell or Sapp for a draft pick?

Free-agent defensive end Simeon Rice came and left St. Louis without a contract Friday. Apparently, Rice's surgically-repaired shoulder checked out OK. There remains a possibility that Rice will sign with the Rams in the future, but so far the sides have not had serious discussions about a contract.
Guess not.

It makes sense. I can't see the Broncos going into the season only 4 deep at DE (I don't think having Kenny Peterson or Alvin McKinley as a 5th DE would be a benefit depth wise). It seemed like they were making room for a move like this.

Here is another link on Rice that matches what Shefter reported...

TAMPA - Simeon Rice has narrowedhis choices to the Rams and Broncos and could decide this weekend.
Rice said he passed a physical Friday in St. Louis and planned to visit the Broncos. The defensive end, 33, was released by the Bucs on July 26 after refusing to take a $2.5-million pay cut from his $7.25-million salary.
He failed his Bucs physical and needed a few weeks to fully recover from shoulder surgery.
"I could've pushed it," Rice said by phone from St. Louis. "But there was no reason to after what happened down there. I'm in a good place. I'm weighing all my options and stuff like that. Making sure all my ducks are in a row.
"It's a real good situation in St. Louis. I liked Denver as well. Their uniforms are off the chain. That's where I'm probably headed next."
Rice said the Bucs have remained in contact with his agent, Tom Condon. Defensive end Patrick Chukwurah has a knee injury and could miss several weeks. Although unlikely, Rice said he wouldn't rule out a return.
"I told my agent if we're going to be in the same situation moneywise, I'll just go back and play in Tampa," Rice said. "It's possible. It all depends. They're still calling."
It's no surprise the Rams would be interested in Rice. Their defensive coordinator is former Saints coach Jim Haslett. Rice has 16 sacks against the Saints, more than any other team.

So the Bucs don't want to pay him any more than 4.75 Mil... It'd have to be more than that for him to sign, I don't know if a situational guy is worth over 5 Mil a year. I've heard he's really bad against the run... would this really be a good idea?

And it's a good thing I didn't ask you what I wanted for dinner... What's your point? I didn't say we should or shouldn't sign him, I was just asking those more knowledgeable on the subject whether those numbers would be worth it.
Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing!

Nice .... interseting that the Broncos uniforms might sway Simeon, "they're off the chain, yo." :~ohyah!:
BTW new guy Mecklomaniac ... much props to you for Jack Dolbin as Adopt-a-Bronco! Next to Kevin Kasper, he's the fastest white man to ever wear our "off the chain" uniform.

Donnie Edwards and Law are stopgap players, too. But they did - and will - get us into the playoffs. Washed up, they ain't. ;D
I doubt you can say that for Sam Adams and Simeon Rice.

Law is washed up (he got burned repeated times last year) do to being washed up and i don't give a ratz a** he lost a few pounds this year (who cares) and the only way your team gets in the playoffs is if another team lets you in by default.

Your deflecting bobo law got 1or2 timely INTs to keep him off the KC hate - radar but the guy gave up big plays based on being washed up (the game is passing him by) and you got your homer goggles set on clueless (nothing new there). Iam going to enjoy watching him chase youngsters all season being a step behind play after play.

Exactly! There were a ton of TY FLAW sucks threads at the planet until Manning threw the 2 picks right to Law. Wasn't even like he made good plays rather than misscommunication between Harrison and Manning.

Why don't you go ahead and outline those numerous plays. He got toasted against the Chargers and Seahawks, but outside of that the stuff he gave up was short. He wasn't toasted that much.
He didn't make as many plays as he should have for sure. But he wasn't a liability by any means. Better than Darrent Williams or Dominique Foxworthless, for sure.

I can think of the TY falling FLAW against the Steelers, Long pass in OT to J. Walker in first game at Denver just off the top of my head. Again you are in total flip flopping mode.

That was about a five-yard pass and a 40-yard run. Law slipped on the crappy field. Hardly his fault.
Javon Walker pushed off. It happens.

Classic excuse making bob. What about the fleaflicker to Chambers? I know your excuse is it was a fleaflicker and you can't expect him to cover that. How about Kevin Curtis beating him?

Law simply let him run past just as he waived goodbye. Ok, he was toasted badly, but give me a few minutes and I'll come up with a dumba$$ excuse.
Oh yea, he slipped, that's it, slipped. Hardly his fault.
Phew, do you think anyone noticed??
Noticed? It's hard to miss your BS.
