my team

QB Alex Smith
WR Terrell Owens
WR Javon Walker
WR Lee Evans
RB Steven Jackson
RB Maurice Jones-Drew
TE Todd Heap
BN Jon Kitna
BN Vincent Jackson
BN Jerious Norwood
BN Brandon Marshall
BN Daniel Graham
DEF New England
BN Denver

im probably going to alternate kitna and smith for during week depending on matchups.....my question is that i was offered this trade

I give up:

Javon
Jones-Drew
New England

I get:

Lawrence Maroney
Darrell jackson
Philidelphia

Jones Drew shares the ball with taylor so im kind of iffy with him as my starter. any suggestions? im also pretty deep at WR so im willing to give up javon seing i have enough denver players. thanks in advance for any input

You do have too many Denver players, but I wouldn't give up Walker.

Walker / TO / Evans is an ideal trio to have and VJ is great upside as a #4.

Now, about that trade offer... is this a PPR league?

Javon vs DJ = Big time downgrade here, DJ has been hurt and is older
Jones-Drew vs Maroney = If no PPR, then it's an upgrade
Pats vs Eagles = Team DEF/ST is a crapshoot and I wouldn't factor this into the equation to be honest with you.

I don't know what the other guy's roster looks like, but Jackson is likely a #3 or bench option for him. He's asking for 2 of your top players in return for an injured and old WR with a RB that has been wearing a non-contact jersey.

Sure, Jones-Drew splits carries, but if PPR is a factor - the guy is a beast.

I just don't like what you get in return at WR - it would not be enough for me to pull the trigger. I say run from this deal.

If it's a non-keeper league, then keep your top trio at WR and ship off the likes of VJ and/or Marshall. You don't need Marshall if you have Walker, he'd be the first to go.

You only have 1 backup RB right now... you should fix that and pick up another guy. I like Norwood a lot in that offense, but for sanity's sake... you need another guy in my opinion.

Also, don't be afraid to start Kitna over Smith - sounds crazy, but that's a nice offense up there and Kitna did well in 2006.

Don't do it. Giving up Javon and Jones-Drew is a mistake. IMO, Jones Drew is undervalued in EVERY league. He had 13 rushing touchdowns, 2 receiving touchdowns, and a kick return for a TD last year -- all despite sharing carries with Fred Taylor. How many people are taking Bryan Westbrook over MJD? Westbrook had 11 TDs last year, and only had 276 more rushing yards, and 236 receiving yards more. You're getting Brian Westbrook numbers from a guy who everybody is passing up in the first round. I like Maroney, but in the OM league, where I drafted 11th in a 12 team league, I locked up MJD before it swung back around and I picked up Maroney.

As far as I'm concerned, you have him outclassed in every position. It's a bad trade.

(PS. Mike Shanahan was high on MJD last year. That's how I knew about him, nabbed him in week 2, and rode him to the Championship.)

Ha! I have both of them in the OM league, TJ. That's hiliarious! I hope you're right!

I have Javon Walker and MJD in every league I'm in! I hope that I'm right too!

I'm confident that I am though. I'm VERY high on Maurice Jones Drew after watching him last year. I tried not to miss his games as the season wore on because he's so exciting to watch. It pains me that we didn't draft him.
