So I am watching the Pats game Friday night.
I hear Dan Dickdork rambling on about Marcia's 1st born son. Dickdork states in the story that Marcia Brady named his son, JOHN.
Coincidence? I think not, who better to name you son after but the greatest QB ever.
I wonder if Brady has a dog named Elway....Hmmmmm....

The local rag had people write in and vote what they thought the name should be.....the overwhelming favorite was "Peyton". Classic stuff.

I wonder if Marcia was overheard in the delivery room saying "THIS ONE'S FOR JOHN"

He was probably named after the place he was conceived at.

If the next one is named Porche, Ferrai, or Chevy, I will have to believe you.

I wanted to barf listening to Deirdorf swabbing Brady's knob all night. One of Brady's first passes about six feet over his receiver and Dan said something like "Good decision, Brady decided to throw that pass incomplete..." It was almost too much to bear.
I'll have to give the Pats some props though, their O-line and D-line were outstanding. They made the Panthers look like kittens. Julius who? Marcus what? They spent the first quarter ramming the ball right down their throat, then they started passing.
And, the 2 blocked field goals! I don't think I have even seen a kicking formation get so destroyed. It was like they were driving a truck into pedestrian traffic. I just can't imagine what the film session went like back in Carolina...

Even with all the dork buffing there, the best line, I think, was from - Who else? - Madden. He was lauding McNabb's throwing skills when he is rolling out of the pocket. "I think he is better at throwing the ball when he is rolling out like that than when he;s in the pocket. I think he is better than 100% when he throws like that." Cracked me up.

It was probably after John Madden...since he has this thing for Brady, Favre, Manning, etc.!

Brady should have phoned Travis Henry, that's a guy with experience at naming babies...

I like Dan Dierdorf.
Well, no one's perfect.
I will never forget the last year Dierdorf was on MNF. I believe it was a Minnesota game (though Ic ould be wrong) and there was a long bomb and in the replay on the upper level there was a sign big as hell that read "Dierdorf, get a job". Funny at first, but what made it priceless and memorable was that the replay guys kept replaying the ball going past this sign over and over and over again and Dierdorf said "For those watching at home, don't pay attention to the background". Funniest damn thing I ever saw on MNF.
