Did anybody watch the football world cup? I only got to see the end. Dont even know if it was live. Anyways, it was USA vs Japan and we barely won. It took the Japan team to miss a 37 yard field goal in double overtime for us to win. I knew Japan was second to us in football but I didnt think they would give us this much trouble. I always thought our scrubs would destroy any team in american football.

I forgot it was on. I probably wouldn't have watched anyway. It does surprise me the we didn't win decisively.

It truly was "our scrubs". John Mackovic (ugh...) coaching a bunch of Div I-AA guys, who practiced together for about 2 weeks, then played against the best teams the "world" could put together for this tournament. And we still won.

Maybe next time we'll face reality and get our asses handed to us ala the Dream Team. Then again, we could just put actual pro's on the field instead of college scrubs, and the football Dream Team would be light years ahead of the original basketball Dream Team.

Not quite sure where I'm going with this...but it's still an impressive achievement for our makeshift USA Football Team to beat the rest of what the world had to offer. U-S-A!!!

It's a good thing we didn't send Crolye and the chiefs as representatives of our country. The Japanese would have kicked their asses!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Figured it was a bunch of nobodies for the US. Surprised that there were enough teams to have this tournament though to be honest.

If there was a football dream team, US would win easily every single game. Like 80-0 every game. I seriously would wonder if any team could score on us. Heck, lets trot out a scrub defense and put Peyton Manning and his OL, LT, Holt, TO, Harrison and Antonio Gates. I highly doubt though any pro would do this because of the risk. All about them, not enough about their damn country, which is why the basketball team hit the ****ter.

I think this scrub team did beat Korea something like 74-0
