Maybe someone can help me out here. I've got 5 job interviews over the next three months. Does anyone here have first hand experience wrt the how good or bad the weather is OR anything else of interest with respect to the following cities. Pros and cons if known would be great:
Charlotte, NC
Wilmington, NC
Williamsburg, VA
Richland, WA
Knoxville, TN
Tampa, FL (actually just north up the coast a bit)
Economic conditions are reasonably easy to ascertain. However, first hand knowledge of the annual weather and anything else of particular intesest is another. Any help would be appreciated...thanks..dman

Seriously, you can't figure out how to find out weather information for different cities? And you listed 6 cities for your 5 interviews.

First hand knowledge speaks volumes. Second, one interview possibly involves two different sites...dman

I rephrased the question. I'm just looking for any first hand knowledge on any of these places. It's important enough to do a bit of homework before going there if you know what I mean..dman

Most all weather sites have them like this one (http://weather.msn.com/monthly_averages.aspx?wealocations=wc:USFL0481) and this one (http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/monthly/graph/USFL0481?from=36hr_bottomnav_undeclared)...

Williamsburg, Va is a nice place to live (a bit expensive for the region), but nice. I lived about ten miles from there (Seaford, Va) for about 12+ years.
The summers are "humid as hell" (at least IMO) and the winters are generally colder "feeling" than Colorado due to the high humidity and constant rain (in lieu of snow) If it does snow, GET OF THE ROAD. Virginians are clueless when it comes to driving in the snow. A couple of inches, and all goes to hell.
Spring and fall are wonderful but short.
BTW: if you do go there for your interview, take the extra time to tour Colonial Williamsburg and the Yorktown Battlefields.

This is exactly the type of information I'm looking for , thanks alot tailgate. I'll be there in October. I'll add this to the notebook on this place...dman
*Heard it was a bit expensive. Also heard some nice acreage to be had but haven't dug in on that one yet....I'm hoping I'm fortunate enough to work in the tours, sounds like some good quality time wrt history, appreciate it.

What type of job are you interviewing for?
PS: don't forget to have some of those "yummy" crabcakes while you are visiting. Chesapeake Bay BlueCrab are the BEST!!
I almost forgot another interesting "must see": Jamestown settlement, and if you take the ferry across the James river you can visit "Vicks' Killing fields". Just kidding. If you take the ferry across to Surry/ Smithfield, grab one of the "world famous" Smithfield Hams to take home!

Dman my parents live about 40 minutes East of Wilmington, NC. Its typical costal weather. Hot, and muggy in the summer. 50's average in the winter. Although they do get cold snaps and ice storms, but that may be more inland. You also have the threat of hurricanes. If you have lived in the South you know about 95% humidity and 95 degree weather. If you haven't then I would plan a trip and see for yourself.

It is right across the James River. from Jamestown Va.. You can either take the Ferry or use the James River Bridge to get to the southside. It depends on which airport you'll be using.
If you do get a job there, I'd suggest looking for Homes/land on the Surry side of the James River in Smithfield or Chesapeake, Va.
Hope you like HUMIDITY and Mosquitoes!

I went to school there and I agree with the weather assessment. I used to call it the swamp for a reason. As side note, it has decent house prices and the school are pretty good. The other problem is that one real road that goes in and out of the area and if there accident it a big problem. The major industries in town CW and the College.

Williamsburg is about 1 hour up the peninsula from Hampton/Newport News. Halfway between Richmond and Norfolk.
