2. I think the best move the Broncos made in the offseason was installing D.J. Williams at middle linebacker. It's a spot he's wanted to play, because he thinks he belongs in the Ray Lewis mode of fellow Hurricane linebackers, guys who are three-down players and never come off the field. "I've been waiting for this opportunity since the day they drafted me,'' he told me. He practices like that too.
Wait. What? I thought DJ sucks. At least that's what I've been reading here the past couple of days.
Maybe we should give DJ more than 3 quarters of work to analyze his transition? Nah, f*ck it. He's garbage. Let's get Trotter in here.

No doubt. If Peter King said it it must be true.Uhh
I read his stuff but I can't stand the fact that he gripes about having to go on the road in August to each training camp. What could be better?
Scheftner used to do the same thing.

That was what jumped out at me. I thought, "Good Lord! There's no way Tom Nalen is 40!" So, I looked it up. Sure enough - birthday of 5/13/71.
It made me look, though.

Yeah, way to miss my point jackass. Everyone has an opinion. It's just funny how everyone thinks their's is right and everyone else is wrong.
MY opinion is that people should give DJ more than 3/4s of a game before deciding he's a bust.

Exactly. The need for him (and Adam) to whine when they are talking about the long hours for a job that the majority of their readers would love to have....always kills me.
This artical is more than a few days old...hence some of his observations

So because Peter King said its the best move, that makes it gospel?
Peter King is mostly an idiot.

Wow, is no one reading the entire thread?
I was simply stating that perhaps we should give DJ a shot instead of having people flame him after 3 quarters of preseason action. There have many reporting (not just the village idiot Peter King) that say he was doing well in TC.

DJ is the man. I'm sure he'll come around plus its hard to play defense when you only have a few plays installed for the game.

I don't get why people have a problem with Peter King. I like him, for the most part. I get tired of his stupid coffee thing, and I REALLY got tired of reading about his daughter's high school field hockey exploits. But from a football perspective, I think he's pretty good (ESPECIALLY compared to others at SI).
Now Dr. Z - don't even get me going on Dr. Z! I write him unpleasant emails about once a month. So far, he hasn't put anything in his stupid mailbag.

It could be worse. You could be Peter Little. Or Peter Smegma.
In high school, my buddies and I used to talk about what the grossest word in the dictionary was. My vote was always smegma (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/smegma).

I don't think it's so much Peter King, but an affliction fans have towards the professional media and analysts (especially at the national level) in general. I think a lot of fans think that everyone has an agenda, but I don't know what agenda Peter King could possibly have by stating that he thought DJ Williams looked impressive when he was visiting Dove Valley. ???
That doesn't mean that I think people should agree with everything they say. But at the same time, it's kind of silly to dismiss everything just because of their position.

Mr. King shouldn't start each of his points with "I think..."
He is the one writing it for God's sake, so it's obviously what he thinks.... Just start out with what you think and it'll sound much more authoritative.

lorraine newman sneaked that word past the censors on the original SNL. my favorite alltime sneak past the censors was the end credits for the last episode of Space Above and Beyond. i spit my beer out laughing when i saw AMF.
as for the broncos...i havent seen a bronco team play that crappy in forever, preseason or not. but it is preseason and i dont even pay attention past halftime for these games.
ill wait til i see the starting D and O play when the real season starts before i get depressed or optimistic about this season.

Maybe DJ should give us something to justify him being our MLB and a vote of confidence. To date Nate Webster has brought more intensity and attitude to the position than DJ. People usually get what they deserve and so far I've seen nothing out of him to show he deserves the MLB position.

Perhaps there's a different take on this
Just becuase Peter King says it, doesn't mean it ISN'T true...
What he's said there about DJ in camp tallies with Kahn and Socal's camp reports - now I'm not suggesting those two are infallible but for those of us who've been on this board for a while they have been pretty much on the money the last year or two.
Weighing everything up its more a case of looking good in practice but then not getting it together in the games at the moment - which is not good but some way off from sucking completely and the 'sky is falling' scenario.
You just DON'T judge a guy on 3 quarters of preseason, especially when he's looked good in camp, you just don't.
Mr. King shouldn't start each of his points with "I think..."
He is the one writing it for God's sake, so it's obviously what he thinks.... Just start out with what you think and it'll sound much more authoritative.
And it'd read like ****.
He's a journalist, first and foremost he's supposed to write something that is entertaining to read. If you go into one of his articles thinking its anything but an opinion piece thats your own damn fault for being a moron and not understanding the concept of an editorial.

I like how King likes to comment on each teams respective dining qualities. He should try eating some fruit for crying out loud. Maybe a carrot stick or celery....
Also, he has been known on occasion to comment on the hotel he's staying at. He mentioned recently how the concierge washed his laundry without accepting money from him. Can you imagine having to wash that guys (King) undies? It would be like that scen in Austin Powers "Goldmember". Where Fat Bastard throws his garment into the laundry bag.

He used to call that section of his article "Five Things I Think I Think"..
He's aparently dropped the subtitle, and just assumes everyone reading the article has been reading him for years - and is a fan.
