Among many other important topics such as the war... but I believe we need to address three issues immediately.

1) We need to fix healthcare. <-- in-case you can't see that, it's a period at the end of the sentence. done.

2) We need to create a lithium-ion R&D foundation here as well as a manufacturing industry for them.

Why? Well, we scream (edited) and moan about relying on foreign oil and how it's the culprit funding terrorists, yet we're doing nothing about our futures. Li-ion batteries are the future of the automotive industry, and guess what?! The battery industry is located overseas, but this time the other "overseas."

3) Im not against CAFE, I just want to say that up-front. What I am against is ridiculous standards that are in legislation right now that are impossible to reach. What other country has CAFE to begin with? What good are we going to do for the world if we implement impossible to reach numbers, yet the Chinese infrastructure is running off 100% coal production? (just something to think about)

I don't intend to create a novel here, just wanted to speak what was on my mind.

I do understand the concern for health-care, i'm just not sure of even how to go about it. I don't understand enough about the costs (Insurance for patients & Dr's, etc). One can argue any # of ways to suit the needs for their own belief on what will fix it. But in reality i don't think it's all just malpractice suits, etc.

I also don't think the "energy solution" is a one size fits all solution. I think you are going to have to do it based on geography to meet the demands of the area. What works in Phoenix may not work to well in Maine, etc.

I don't think biodiesel is a 100% answer either. It could be great for freight trains/trucks. I also think we need to start utilizing mass-transit better. This is also a burden for the state to not pilfer the tax base to make mass-transit "cheap". I think if enough people use it, it can/would create competition that could keep costs affordable.

I'd love to take our war budget and put it to R&D to find a complete enery policy that can suit our needs.

Politicians are good at talking about it, but they don't do a damn thing to solve it. If you're looking for someone to support your points with action, you'll be searching a VERY long time...
