Cutler only threw two passes and led them to a touchdown on the opening series. Croyle's periotte (sp?) and subsequent pick was was perhaps one of the most unathletic throws I've ever seen forom a quarterback. It reminded me of Jake's left handed throw. To compare the two is like comparing, well, an NFL quarterback to a ballerina.

It's all about the ratings, good or bad, it doesn't matter, as long as they are there...Negative feed brings in a better rating then positive does, check it, we all know, as much as we don't like it, the negative crap keeps you coming back for more, thats why boob continues to exsist....It's kind of sad when you think about it, but the stupidity and complete idiocy of some of the drama sucking threads that get started are really just part of the whole sope-opera routine around here, and really the choice is to the poster wether to engage or not...So the next time you have a choice, make the right one and free yourself of the negative crap(boobs crapy threads) and just ignor the attention seeking troll...

Ratings? I don't understand this fascination that people have with the concept of ratings. Ratings? What ratings?
I'm looking at post #1 on this thread, and I'm having a hard time determining what rule got broke. A thread that tracks the progress of our quarterback against one of our most hated rival shouldn't actually ruffle that many feathers. Seems like a legitimate thread topic to me.
It's not about ratings. It's about allowing people the freedom to have a discussion of football topics. This is nothing new. We've allowed fans from other teams to post threads discussing football topics for as long as we've been active. This is not Fin Heaven, where folks are forced to only post good stuff about the Broncos or face being banned. Ratings aren't the goal here. Diverse discussion is.

It was/is my belief that it wasn't the type of diverse discussion thread that you are talking about because in Bob's opening post, he was using extremely deceptive statistics and going out of his way to reach absurd conclusions in such a way where I thought his only intent there was to just attention whore/aggravate/get under the community's collective skin, rather than have a serious, honest discussion about this topic.

If you had not moved it, SoCal, I would have. One has to consider the timing of the OP here... our team had just won its first preseason game. Broncos fans wanted to savor the win, not think about/discuss the Chefs.

I think it makes it way funner to have posters like Bob around to argue and trade insults with. People on this board are too sensative, too politically correct, and far too soft most of the time. This is football we don't cry about another fan making fun of the Broncos. All you little Nancy's need to grow some balls and stop complaining to the moderators to ban the Queef fans.
Besides what fun would it be when Broncos finally get a win in Arrowhead if Booby wasn't around to kick in the nuts? Instead of crying just try and get him back, maybe you will discover some lost wit in the process.

This is what the front page of the o-mane in the second week of on topic discussion has to offer? A comparisson between a starting quarterback and a second string work in progress? Further it is moved to the butt by a mod attempting to do his job as he sees fit, then that mod gets reprimanded in public and his decision reversed because the site whipping boy/ head admins lap dog started the thread? Well at least speaking of butts is still worthwhile. Congrats TJ, you have just taken one step closer to a soft-core porn site.

I just found the whole thread amusing from the standpoint that they aren't playing football for real, yet. They are trying to get their timing patterns right and everybody on the same page. There is no real game planning going on. Everybody knows it, but people seem to get jacked up for preseason because it's some form of football. If Bob wants to extol the "virtues" of Brodie Croyle, let him have it. It will only become funnier if Damon Huard gets the starting nod in Week 1....ROFL!
"Butt-worthy" threads, IMO, are threads which are inappropriate for the main forum or have stooped to an insult fest. Ignore the thread as the ramblings of an idiot and let it fall off the front page. Problem solved.

Croyle does fetch a mean gatorade. His footwork and timing are impeccable but he tends to get some spill over when he's trotting it back to the bench. Rookie mistake that can easily be corrected with proper coaching. Brandi has a bright future as Pine Bitch.

It's not that I like trolls so much as I like discussing how much better our team is than our competitors. I respectfully disagree with the moderators who moved this. As big a tool as Bob is, I think that there is merit to a discussion thread that compares Croyle and Cutler, even if it was started by someone with an agenda to paint Croyle in a more positive light. I fully realize what Bob's goal is here, and understand that he's going to try to say that Croyle is better than Cutler at ever turn that he possibly can. I'm ok with that because I don't honestly care what he has to say. His opinions don't anger me, so much as they make me laugh.

Well, Bob said the comparison starts with game one of the preseason and by having a higher completion percentage Croyle won. I asked what the QB rating was and he gave it. Since we were starting from that game it makes perfect sense to use it. Your attack is pretty lame. We aren't comparing who will have the better season or career its a game by game contest.

I'm not gonna agree that Croyle "stinks", but he is not in the same class of potential as Cutler, that much is certain. The issue is whether Cutler or Croyle develop to their potentials. That isn't happening for another couple of years. And the development o fthe team around them.
OTOH, too many people who know a whole lot more about QBs and the play of that position think and have stated that Cutler is very talented. Similar ratings for Croyle are noticeably lower.
Nonetheless, the season will be determined by the teams, not by a QB per Se.

Of course you would agree with this because its saying Croyle may be good. He won't be and you know what neither may Cutler. But at least Cutler has developed after a year in the league. And once again you make yourself look dumb saying Phillip Rivers isn't that good. He is good but he also showed some weakness dealing with the Blitz. I would take him as a ROOKIE over Croyle any day.

Rivers was one of the weakest links on the offense last year. He got into tantrums whenever things weren't going his way.
I think you are forgeting Cutler has played 5 games and Croyle has not even started yet. Of course Cutler is more developed. He has way more experience.
Croyle does not have to be a great QB in our offense. All he needs to do is make the smart throws like Damon Huard did last year and we should be fine.
I remember when Cutler made the same mistakes Croyle has made. It's called growing pains for a reason. Every QB goes through them. Look at Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, and your guys savior John Elway's stats in their first year starting. Not very impressive were they?
A QB's first year starting does not tell what kind of QB he will become 90% of the time
theAPAOps5

Again you lack to investigate before you post. Elway, Smith, Manning all played their rookie years. Croyle has sat and watched like they are supposed to and he still looks like crap so far. And just make the easy throws and your offense will be fine. You are an idiot. Your line is in transition, your RB is still not signed and you have no recievers except a rookie with Potential. Your QB has to do more than just make the smart throws.

Chief fans like to dump on Rivers because he played poorly in their second meeting last year. They don't look at the entire season. After reading and listening to all this homerism regarding Brodie Croyle, it doesn't surprise me that they have such a skewed football view.
Rivers stepped in where Brees left off and there was no drop-off. In fact, Rivers played better than Brees did in 2005 here.

Why do you ask questions to which the answers are obvious?
Personally, I don't think it's fair to judge Rivers fully yet. He's had lots of talent around him, and he succeeded. We haven't seen him with a sub-par offense yet, so we can't say how he'd do if he had one. He hasn't been asked to do much, but he's excelled at which he's been asked to do. Not to mention, he's excelled with very sub-par WRs. That's worth noting and commending.
I think Croyle sucks. I can't support it very well it, and you can't argue against it very well. I think Cutler's going to be a great QB for years, and there's a hell of a lot more to support that opinion than there is to support Croyle, or to support the opinion that Cutler will not do well.

Chiefs won't make it with their offensive line and QB consistancy issues. However, its preseason. Until it establishes itself in the regular season, its not a problem. You cannot really say the Broncos are unable to play Bate's defense or the Chiefs Solari's offense until you have the same starters in for 4 quarters.

Why should I need a quote when a Bronco fan in the same thread already knows it's true? Maybe you didn't get the memo.

No, he knows what really happened. It had nothing to do with playing the SB team and it had all to do with the time slot. You said it was because Bowlen didn't want to play the Steelers. Everyone else shut you down like usual. So again I await the quote that backs up your claim.

This is so laughable. You don't see other teams crying to the commissioner about their schedule do you? SD had a brutal schedule playing accross the US for 6 weeks and did they cry? Nope.
KC has the hardest opening and closing month in football. Only 1 home game in the first 4 games and 1 in the last 4 games. Are they crying?

People are very stupid. Last time I checked you had 4 quarter to play football and the team with the highest score wins. Starters on every team have not even played into the second half yet and there are so many trolls who think they will know how the season is going to play out. Damn, at least wait until ONE FRICKIN regular season game has been played and the starters play the full game before you start flaming. MF are there some stupid as_sss people watching football these days, starting with BOB. The #1 football idiot in the country.

I'm guessing you haven't realized that Croyle hasn't even played a real game yet and that Cutler has played 5 games. In fact, Croyle has only played a little over a game against good competition(1st and 2nd stringers) while Cutler has played about 6 and a half.
I like what I have seen from Croyle. He is making rookie mistakes, but that is part of the process. Even the all time great QB's made rookie mistakes when they were young. It happens to every QB.
Even Cutler is still making mistakes like the fumble. It's not like Cutler is perfect. He won't even be a pro bowler this year. Brady, Manning, Palmer, and Rivers are all better QB's. Even Roethlisberger might be better if he plays like he did in his first 2 years.

If you're asking the owner of this one, I think you guys are great at dick and fart jokes. I do think that the realities of a Carl Peterson run franchise have beat most of the homerism out of your fan base though, if that's what you mean. But frankly, I stopped visiting the Planet's football discussion area on a regular basis starting after you guys hired Herm. That was more Henry dropping the ball at he handoff than Cutler making a rookie mistake. I don't even know why it's listed as Cutler's fumble. I guess because Henry never got possession. Point is that Cutler hasn't turned over the ball yet.

Fair enough. I don't measure a D on whatever stat I can find. IMO the best indicator of how good a defense is is their rank in PPG(or points given up obviously).
Measuring a team by yards per game is dumb IMO. You win games by scoring points.
I think that a the team that gives up 400 yards of offense but allows only 12 points has a better defense than the team who gives up 270 yards but allows 28 points

Not quite. If you're giving up 400 yards, it usually means your offense just plain sucks and is going three and out all the time. So the D may give up 400 yards and only 12 points, but that'll usually lead to your offense scoring 3.

Not much, except for stat monkeys like you and Bobo. LJ ain't gonna carry you to victories this year as long as you field a QB who is the bastard child of Jake Plummer and Brian Griese.

Actually Bob was right on that one. Carl stated that he never got a phone call from other teams and never wanted to trade LJ.
Said it on HardKnocks
And you believe that? Especially after all the solid reports of the talks between the Chiefs and Green Bay (which my inside source confirmed while Bobo was still denying).

I remember you singing the praises of Todd Devoe Mr.
He did some nice things but I was never one of the people that thought he could be more than a backup if that's what you mean. I went back and checked and I don't know what you meant by "singing his praises".
There's these from my camp reports.
Devoe had a hard time today fighting through that injury. He had some key drops and left the field throwing his gloves on the ground. He wants to make the team but is hurt and knows that other guys are stepping up while he's hurting.
This was a flattering one, I guess, but has some negative to it.
Todd Devoe: Had some big catches including the only TD of the practice. Beat a safety and a corner to catch a deep BVP pass for a TD. Unfortunately he also had some drops including a pass from JaY Cutler that hit him right in the hands.
I found this one, which was nice but it was from 2005 when he was doing well in camp.
Todd Devoe: He has one great catch every practice and maintains relatively consistant play otherwise. This time he was down for a deep pass form BVP. It was perfectly thrown and he just beat his man and made the catch. He's got big play potential so he's someone who could make the team.
I suppose predicting he'd could make the team (which he did) was pretty good praise. He was great on special teams for us.
Here's what I wrote after he had that really good game against the Eagles.
I'm not ready to say that Devoe could be a star. He still has some work like that long TD pass he dropped from Mauk. I do think he makes a great fourth or fifth option, though.
I was never high on Devoe as a receiver, though I did like him on special teams. He had several tackles and forced fumble playing special teams.

I know man! How sad is it that a 21 year old guy has a better inside slant to the Chiefs than the 2nd in command for Warpaint Illustrated. LOL
