Chiefs' top pick Bowe ends holdout

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp07/news/story?id=2962177

The Chiefs have come to terms with their first-round draft pick, leaving just three first-round selections from the 2007 draft unsigned and holding out from training camps.

Former LSU receiver Dwayne Bowe, who was the 23rd overall pick in the draft, agreed to terms with the Chiefs on Sunday, sources told ESPN.com's John Clayton. Bowe is expected in camp Monday.

Panthers rookie linebacker Jon Beason, picked 25th, also signed on Sunday.

The remaining first-round holdouts are the Raiders' JaMarcus Russell (No. 1 overall), the Jets' Darrelle Revis (14th) and the Browns' Brady Quinn (22nd).22nd

Got him signed huh? What's funny is you started a thread a few weeks ago asking why Broncos had not signed any picks yet. Halarious that your team ended up having the most important pick this year miss tons of camp. The first week might be the most important. Rookie wr usually struggle. Rookies who miss camp usually struggle. Bowe is the double whammy this year.

So the holdout was for nothing? (His agent was waiting on the Brady Quinn deal to get done, no?)

Nice job, rookie.

Spam? Do you know what spam is?

Why is the signing of the first round pick of a division rival unwelcomed on a Broncos board? Is it because Bob posted it or do you really not care about critical events that may have an affect on the Chiefs season?

Did you mean to say that you get sick of the KC trolls? I think that some of the Chiefs fans are here to interact and learn about the Broncos rather than pushing buttons and talking smack.

Yes.

Agreed, and they are welcome.
But please take the Troll Boob home with you or to a Chief's board, and leave him there.
He does more to make an entire fan base look stupid than a stadium full of Raider fans.

Yeah, he's definitely trolling but he's not acting a whole lot more different than TJ used to act over on ChiefsPlanet. It annoys everybody and is good for traffic though, which is why he hasn't been banned I'm sure. I don't agree with the way he behaves here and I wouldn't do it myself but I'm not gonna tell him how he should spend his free time on the internet. He's having fun and even though Bronco fans are annoyed by him they're being provided entertainment in a twisted sense. Besides if you didn't have him to kick you'd be kicking each other. Every site needs a few trolls.

While it's a Broncos board, it's ultimately a football board. Talk about other teams goes on regularly without issue and talk with opposing team's fans sometimes occurs without issue. Unfortunately, Bob comes around and pushed too many buttons and even those who are generally decent KC fans get drawn into the arguement and thus comes the "Defender of Bob" comments. So you're absolutely correct in saying that it's the trolls that everyone has issues with but anyone who comes to the defense of Bob ultimately gets deemed a troll. Unfortunately, the combination of true trolls and overzealous smack talking Bronco fans generally kill any attempt at other team discussion.

100% agreed. I knew last year when he lost the bet that while he was gone, folks would still be talking about him. Sure enough, they did. He's one we love to hate.

That being said, it was still more pleasant without him.

He'd make a good door stop for a barn door.,
Or painted red and given a fishing pole, he'd make a fine garden ornament.....or a Troll from a distance.
Either way, he'd be more productive.

I don't actually see any trolling from Bob on this thread. Why don't you guys convert him? He likes to talk football.

He used to troll ChiefsPlanet. We fixed him there. You should put your heads together and figure out a way to convert him into a product member of your little community here. I know he comes off like an immature idiot sometimes but he actually contributes a lot at the Planet. Maybe you guys can find a way to harness his energy to your benefit. Ask him to do some research on the Broncos or something and start a thread about his findings. You might be surprised with what he brings.

Don't mean nothin' with LJ still out of the stable. He is definitely what the chef's need at wide receiver, but with no threat of a running game and defenses challenging the chef's passing game to beat them, Bowe will find it tough to get many chances where he isn't blanketed by defensive backs.

Bob's mind is far to weak to upset me. He has never even once gotten under my skin. A few times I have gotten a laugh over his stupid baiting and trolling. IMO the message board wouldn't be as fun without jesters like Bob to keep us all laughing with his stupidity. Keep it Bob it's funny and entertaining IMO. I mean what could be better then a dorky dude that thinks he's a sportswriter making a fool of himself on a daily basis? It's like watching someone sing Karoke that is really bad, but thinks they are good. It makes it that much more funny.

That's a common misconception. I don't consider myself a legitimate sportswriter. I write about sports and get paid for it, but it's more of a hobby than anything, a fringe benefit. I'm just happy to be up here at camp, and if doing a little writing pays my way, all the more better.

Now, I'll admit I've only been on Chef planet a half dozen times total but I believe he recently started a thread asking if fans would follow LJ if he were traded and Bob said he'd happily become an avid Cowboys fan if that's where LJ ended up... most of the other posters mocked him and laughed him out the door. How much of a REAL contribution does that make to the place? And if that's the best we could hope for after his conversion... I'll pass.

As for being a local kicking toy... we've got Angryllama and footsteps to kick around when things get too bad, we don't really need Chefs for that. We'd get by.

You may contibute highlight videos but if you're a douche the other 97% of the time... it's probably not worth the trade off. Going off how they talk about you in the few threads I've seen... I've gotta think theres plenty of garbage posts to go with the contributions you do make.

He makes a pretty significant contribution even beyond the highlight videos and pictures. He talks a lot of football. He's a passionate fan. Those kind of people are good for a website.

Naturally there are those who are incapable of forgiving his past transgressions. They trash anything he posts. But most of the planet has gotten over it and many of us recognize his worth. He might be best served starting with a fresh ID but I don't see that happening. He likes attention, any kind of attention.

It's gonna be fun to compare Davis and Bowe over the years.

Davis is absolutely lighting it up in camp. I know, it's just camp but it's hard not to be excited about the kid already.

Meanwhile Bowe has been sitting on his couch, eating doritos and twiddling his thumbs. ;D

Actually Bowe has been in Atlanta working out with his buddy JaMarcus Russell.

And IMO the best LSU WR is going to be suiting up and playing with his college team this year. Early Doucet..remember that name
