To make room on the roster, the club cut receiver Rhema McKnight and guard Wes Sims.

The team also worked out receiver Darius Watts, a three-year NFL veteran who last played for the Giants, and offensive lineman Nick Sobic, an undrafted free agent from Harvard.

Duckworth is 6 feet 4, 318 pounds. Jackson, who was cut earlier this week by Pittsburgh, is 6-2, 205.

With all the injuries we have, I would like Darius Watts back.

I really do believe Watts could have been a great part of our team. I believe he was a victim of "the little man upstairs" wrath. He was in Shannys dog house and we all know that once your tagged you might as well kiss your azz goodbye. Just look at Deltha, the D Lineman from Washington ( his name escapes me),Trevor Pryce, .. it goes on and on. Yes he had some drops but at times he was explosive and amazing. Come on Shanny put your selfish ego aside and act for the better of the team. Impeach Shanny!! - ok just kidding.

A VICTIM. A VICTIM??? If there is one thing you can count on. Shanahan would put anyone on that field that can produce when it counted. But he couldn't count on him. Simple as that.

Yes he wasnt the most consistant... but how about Trevor and Deltha. Sure they had down years prior to getting there heads chopped off. Look at the following years they had, Pro Bowl calibure. Why?
I really believe Trevor would have made a huge diffrence for us last year. Just saying give a guy a real second chance!
p.s. - Im not a fan of Deltha especially after the Monday night game against the Pats when he cost us the game. Just saying:ouwknow:

Hilarious! Memo to bap454...if your nickname is "the claw"...it's possible you're not cut out to CATCH PASSES in the NFL. The other examples...Deltha who stunk it up here and underachieved once he thought he'd "arrived", Pryce...who was also underperforming and expensive...and some guy you can't remember?

Please...

Watts attended Marshall University and finished his career with 272 receptions for 4,031 yards (14.8 yards per reception avg.), and 47 touchdowns. He was the squad captain as a junior and a senior. Watts ranks fifth in Division I-A history for receptions in a career, and second for touchdowns in a career. Darius also rushed 21 times for 188 yards (8.95 yards per carry average), and returned 15 kickoffs for 254 yards (16.9 yards per kick return average).

Just one more small name to prove my point. How about our current punter Sauerbutt. We had to have him soooo desprately. Do you thing he could have helped us last year? Hell yes!!! Then remind me ... why was he released ..... was it because he "didnt produce on the field". Hell no!! It was because he broke his promise to Shanny. His ego was bruised, tell me Im wrong.

Exactly.....the Giants are far worse off at receiver than the Broncos and they have no place for Watts on their roster. That tells me all I need to know.

OK, I'll explain that a little more.

Shanny felt let down by Sauerbruns failure of a drug test. It was a similar issue to Watts, in that he didn't want to rely on a punter that might suddenly get banned at any moment, so he favoured Ernster. Also, Ernster did play a lot better when he was competing for SBs job during his ban and only really started to suck as the restof the season progressed.

If 'ego' was at play he would NOT have allowed Sauerbrun back this year, and even Sauerbrun himself admitted that he let us down and owed us one.

Pryce did not play up to his cap number year before last and point-blank refused to restructure, so had to be let go - OK, so he goes to Baltimore and has a good year, but he did not play like that for us.

Deltha was always a good athelete but frustrated the coaches with his coverage ability - he had the athleticism to make plays but he wasn't consistent. Early indications from Cincinatti are that the coaches there are also beginning to get a little bit frustrated with him for the same reasons. The talent is there for all to see but he doesn't quite make the mostof it somehow.

As for iHOP...puuurleasse!!!! Possibly one of the most classless individuals to ever put pen to paper for this franchise.....when he publicly chewed out Shanny on the air he had to go, no question, and any coach who did not pull the trigger on that one would have been weak.

Maybe you're just being tongue-in-cheek by raising the old shanny/ego chestnut?

A one handed WR is about as useful as a blind QB... The only blame Shanahan takes is the fact that he wasted a 2nd round pick on him.

1. Deltha O'Neil - a CB who consistantly got burned on the big play. Shanny sis everything he could to keep that guy around, even tried to convert him to a WR. Deltha was terrible when he played for us, and you know what? He was terrible when he played(s) for Cinncinati. He gambles WAY too much which led to one year with a lot of picks, much like his rookie season, and a lot more years and games with egg all over his face. He isn't and never has been a great or even very good CB... next...

2. Trever Pryce was never in Shanny's dog house. He just wanted more money than we were willing to pay a player coming off a decent year after major back surgery, who tends to disappear when you need him most. It was a business move, and if you actually believe Pryce would have had anywhere near the season he had with Baltimore, on our line, with Coyer's schemes, you are kidding yourself. You would be asking why we payed a guy 12 mil to be a non factor... next

3. Darryl Gardner... a problem child in Maimi, in Washington and a problem child in Denver. You want to talk about egos for a second? This guys thought he was about 10 times better than he ever was. He gets a huge contract from Denver, shows up, and promptly hurts himself in a bar fight. Great! And how amazing was he after he left Denver? How many probowls? Oh right, none. He didn't play a single down ever again. You can criticize Shanny for taking him in the first place, but not for putting him in the doghouse... next...

4. Saurbraun. He's a PUNTER, who got busted for banned substances that he admitted to taking, hoping he wouldn't get caught... I mean come on! Also, please don't forget that Ernseter looked outstanding in the Todd's four suspension games. He didn't start to faulter until the pressure was off. Again, I don't understand how this has anything to do with Shannahan's ego.

5. Watts has a clawhand, and is soft. He is not cut out for the NFL. Ask the Giants and then ask the Saints when they cut him this fall.

You are just throwing names around that you have heard without any support for any of them and completely out of context, and you are wrong.
