Its on today, tonight and tomorrow it looks like. I'm watching the pedestrian WR's tear up the CB's. SD doesn't have a whole lot of weaknesses but if we can give Cutler time, I think we could have a major advantage here. I can see Javon working over the top a bunch a la what happened to NE and Baltimore last year. I think Cromroterie looks really really stiff. Florence doesn't look much better.

BTW, those uniforms look awful. Mustard yellow, baby blue and navy blue. Ugh.

Tomlinson: "you know when you are playing teams like the Patriots, Colts and Ravens you are going to have to bring your A game for 60 minutes, sometimes more if you are going to win..."

I hope we stick it to these cocky m'fers this year. I'm sick of their mouth running already. For a team that doesn't have a playoff win in how many years, they sure think they are on top.

He left out Broncos as a team that should be worried about. He's acting like SD taking the division is total lock.

I caught that too,but he actually said:Colts,Patriots,Ravens,Bengals, and Steelers as the teams they have too concentrate on and make sure they bring their "A" game and finish off these games strong...
I just hope the whole team overlooks us as 2nd rate trash, and when we meet,we destroy these arrogant peices of crap!!!

Javon will be just as effective as he was last year. And of course if you give Cutler time he's going to tear it up. Just like if you give Rivers time, he'll tear it up against your secondary (Bailey nonwithstanding). The question is do you think your oline can give Cutler the necessary protection and time he needs? Having Lepsis back will certainly help no doubt, but will it be enough to prevent what happened in the San Fran game from occurring again? And I don't mean getting Cutler a concussion.

Well, he didn't mention any other division opponent because it's probably a given that those games will be tough. You have no idea of how proud he is of this division.

I am sure he wasn't slighting Denver. I am sure he has beef with the Patriots because his little feelings were hurt when they mocked his teammates gay little dance for every tackle he makes. I totally respected LT but he looked like a little baby after that game. That retarded dance should be mocked.

This is why players really need to think carefully about what they say after a loss, especially one where so many chances were simply blown.

Yeah toe surgery. This means more than anything that Davis will have to step it up for the #3 role. Of course, he seems to be having a great camp so barring any injuries he should have that spot with ease.

Sensitive? :flower:

Maybe he mentioned those teams because they were 3 of the top 4 teams in the AFC last year and are the most likely postseason contenders?

Exactly because 99 out of 100 times he would be his classy self. Then he totally flipped out about a dance. Granted it was against Bellycheck and the gang but still it made no sense. It was his teams game to lose and they did he should have been more upset with his own team. O'well whats done is done. Can't wait to square up with you guys this year. I think we will split the series but they will be epic games.

Well, you know the rules, you can't be pissed off at your own teammates or team during any interview, especially because you have to see those guys again. But you're right, there's lots of people LT could have blamed on our team.
One person in particular was Cam Cameron. Our former offensive coordinator decided that since LT was tearing NE up in the first half, that maybe he should take it easy on NE and limit his carries in the second half.

Yeah I remember thinking to myself why on Earth are they taking the ball our of LT's hands during the second half.

I think LT's postgame reaction had more to do with what transpired during the game than what happened after. It was a dirty game with lots of bad blood and the Patsies were definetely inside our player's heads. I was rewatching the game a while ago and I watched one of the scuffles in slowmotion. It was disgusting. Shane Olivea got a personal foul after a PAT for diving into a pile. If you look on the bottom edge of the pile you can see a NE player with both hands wrapped around Jamal Williams' (i think) neck. That type of thing was going on all game, probably by both teams. That was probably the main reason that Tomlinson was upset. Teams mocked Merriman's sack dance all year long.

I'm sure frustration and/or disappointment was a part of it but I think the root of it was the Patriot players celebrating on the Charger's logo.

Remember, the Cowboys and their fans were pretty upset at T.O. when he did it to them.

Slightly off topic, but I guess this is what happens now whenever there is heavy activity on this board. That is to say all the AVs disappear in order to make it run more smoothly?

He was frustrated because there was no way you look at that game and say NE won other than the score(and that is the only stat that counts). LT shouldn't of used the mocking of the dance as an excuse and just said he was pissed because they completely CHOKED in classic Marty style.

In terms of the Chargers backfield. If the playoff game vs. New England is any indication then Quentin Jammer is in trouble. Jabar Gaffney lit him up all day and then when he couldn't play any worse they threw a 4th down bomb over him to Reche Caldwell. If they put Jammer on Javon and we get any kind of protection then this will be a nice advantage.

guys, don't forget since we have a good QB again, the first 15 will be scripted, and maybe now we will score enough early to take them out of their running game!!!!!

While I hate to give Tom Brady any props, that throw he made on 4th down was a thing of beauty. He couldn't have dropped that in any better. Jammer was inside of Caldwell step for step but Brady dropped it right over Caldwell's right shoulder. Perfect placement. Right in stride. Couldn't have done it any better.

Jammer was up in press coverage on that play with no safety help. Wade was banking on the pass rush getting to Brady, and it didn't.
