$62 million..damn! I can't believe the money that is being handed to all these players, especially the one's who haven't proven anything yet(AD and Brown).

The money is getting way out of control. However, the owners are willing to shell it out, so I guess I can't totally blame the players...
Levi Brown is one of the best young OTs in the NFL. If you aren't going to drop big money on your 20-something star LT then who the hell are you going to drop it on?

We don't know that, yet. Right now, all he has is a lot of potential. That goes for all the rookies in the NFL.

They said the same thing about Leonard Davis, and look how that turned out.
Sorry, was thinking of the wrong Levi, Levi Jones who should be getting a payday sometime soon. Wow, sad when I just mistook a rookie contract for what should be a young all-pro's new deal.
This deal is stupid largely because the Cards are giving him $20M more than Joe Thomas and only get one more year of control. I'm sure the guaranteed money isn't as high as Thomas' ($22-23M), and ESPN says a good chunk of the $62M is incentive based though. The Cards were probably worried about another hold out. They've had some major picks flop after long hold outs.

Wow! I am just impressed that the Cards got their 1st round pick into camp before the 3 or 4th preseason game. That is an accomplishment for them. Look at Leinart, Rolle, Thomas Jones, Wadsworth, etc. They are so bad at getting there picks into camp.

I know a lot of people liked Levi Brown here, I think BPC was one of them - but I didn't really see anything that special in him. A first-round talent, but a top seven guy? Sort of mind blowing if you asked me. I felt that the Cardinals could have went another direction, and perhaps used some of their other picks to move up and nab a guy like Staley in the late-first, or settle on a guy in the early second round.
To each his own, but it's likely that a lot of that money is bull**** bonuses he'll never reach.

All the deals signed by top picks are largely incentive-based, that's why the upfront money is large

Id hate to have some much pressure on me after being handed that much money.

Really? How many downs has he played in the NFL?
The contracts given out to un-proven rookies is ridiculous.
