Anyone think we need him?

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- Colts owner Jim Irsay said Wednesday night that he expected to release former Pro Bowl tackle Corey Simon within the next few days, ending months of speculation concerning Simon's future with the Super Bowl champions.

Simon did not pass his physical over the weekend. He was expected to report to camp on time Sunday but was never seen at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

Irsay on Wednesday tried to clarify Simon's status with the team.

"Hopefully, we'll have something worked out with that. I think he may pursue his opportunities somewhere other than here," Irsay said. "I think we may come to an agreement in the next few days and he may pursue other places to play. I think it's better to get it resolved in the next day or two."

Simon did not play last season and was eventually placed on the non-football illness/injury list with an undisclosed ailment. Since winning the Super Bowl, the Colts have been debating what to do with Simon.

Colts coach Tony Dungy said he had been in touch with Irsay concerning the move.

"I didn't know how far along we were but I knew that was the direction we were going," Dungy said.

well he IS a free agent and this HAS been posted on ESPN so i suppose by logic ANY free agent EVER should be posted about as a potential bronco because im sure that we can decide his fate by voting on it or polling or POSTING ABOUT IT OVER AND OVER UNTIL MY BRAIN EXPLODES

yes, he will be the next bronco QB

What was the rumored ailment he had last year? I say if Indy cuts him, the team who won the SB despite having one of the worst rush D in the league then there has to be something wrong. They need solid DLine play as much as we do.

It could of been HIV.

Its was deemed non-life threatening but limited his ability to train and condition. I wonder if it is Fibromyalgia that does nasty stuff to your muscles and nerves.

Wow where did that come from? Could be anything. Could be Diabetes.

Bring him in. If he passes a physical, then sign him to a one year deal, and keep him, Adams, Warren, and Thomas(Maybe Kennedy if he impresses) on for the season. The Colts may have just used the failed physical as a reason to cut him.

He's just a name at this point. If he's not right physically, let the skins sign him.
