NFL Players Honor Broncos Safety John Lynch
(CBS4) DENVER The NFL Players Association has honored Denver Broncos safety John Lynch for his good-guy persona off the field.
Lynch is well know for his work with children in the community and that has prompted the Players Association to give him its highest honor, the Byron "Whizzer" White Award."
The Broncos nominated Lynch for the JB Awards, which pays tribute to football players for their achievements in the community.
The Players Associations selects 10 award winners and from those, a single player is honored with White Award. That award is given in honor of the late Supreme Court Justice who played football at CU-Boulder before going on to the play in the NFL.
Lynch is being honored for his work with children through his foundation which honors children with his "Star of the Month" and "Lynch's Leaders."
He also throws a Christmas party every year for children in need.
The awards were given out in April but Saturday, July 28 CBS4 will air a program about the awards which includes interviews with Lynch and the other players who were honored.
