PFT reports Briggs deal done

PFT is saying that Jay Glazer and Adam Schefter were reporting it. They didn't have a link but it's not like they're claming "their sources."

BRIGGS DEAL, UM, DONE

Contrary to reports (as in our own) that reports that a deal between the Bears and linebacker Lance Briggs were not as close as advertised, Briggs and the Bears have a deal.

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Briggs will sign his tender and report to camp a day or two late, due to a prior commitment. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports (and we've confirmed) that the Bears sill not apply the franchise tag to Briggs if he plays in at least 75 percent of the defensive snaps this season.

We're also told that the Bears will advance to Briggs $1 million of the $7.2 million base salary that becomes fully guaranteed once Briggs signs the tender.

Yeah, you'd think that'd make things rough between him, the staff, and the fans. This puts him in a contract year though, he wont be doggin' it to spite anyone. Long as Samuel and LJ stick to their guns, I don't care much about Briggs.
