I was cruising around ebay just looking at cars and I found this 2005 hyundai elantra with only 18,000 miles for sale with no reserve and only 8 minutes left on the auction. The max bid was at $5,000. I quickly looked up the blue book value and found out the car blue booked for about $10,500. I figured why not. I imagine the seller has a max bid of $8,000 but I'll give it a try. So as the time got wihin 20 seconds to end I put my max bi of $6,500 and I won!! My winning bid turned out to be for $5,500!! That's quite a steal. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it but at 32 MPG I imagine I'll sell my Chyrsler LHS.
Here is the car.

If you go to ebay cars and then select cars within your area just keep look for a car with no reserve. There were a couple of cars like this. I also won an auction on a 1991 Nissan Maxima with a $5,000 bid but that didn't meet their reserve for it. That one too Blue books for about $10,000

I've bought two cars on E Bay, one steal and one good value....both are terrific.
The trick is to buy cars that still have warranty and a Carfax report.

And check out the seller's feedback and if they have any negative read it and ask the seller about it. You can't see responses from every person a dealership has sold a car to if you go to a lot.
I bought our Escalade on ebay. Got a great deal, and it's a great ride.

My dad bought a Jaguar of Ebay and it kept leaking oil. The seller was in Florida and he was in North Carolina. He kept having my dad send it to the dealership and they couldn't figure it out. So they told him to pick another car that they had for sale and he took a cadillac. Pretty cool of him to do.
I myself can't do ebay. I hate losing, HATE IT. So if I get out big I either get competitive or vindictive and always end up paying more than I should have. So I just stay away.

Sure - I bought a 42" Panasonic plasma HDTV off eBay
Prices regularly drop on plasma TVs but at the time I made this purchase I got it for about $700 cheaper than the best retail store price I could find
In that case, the savings offset the shipping so I still wound up paying a lot less than I would have if I went Best Buy, etc

No doubt you got a good deal, but I would hold off on selling your old car. I had a roommate who had an Elantra. She hated that car. It wasn't comfortable at all, maintainance was required frequently, and she claimed it was bad on insurance rates as well. You might want to hold onto it for a while and see if it is a good fit before getting rid of what you have now.

Have you ever bought a car and felt sick about it afterwards - sort of like, "What have I done?" I have been wanting a truck forever, and Ford is offering great deals and incentives on all their 2007 trucks. So, tonight I go into the dealership to drive a few F150s, and I walk out a couple hours later the proud owner of a Harley Davidson edition F150. It's a sweet truck, but I have never driven a motorcycle (a street bike, anyway) in my life. I just liked the options on the truck, and it has kind of a menacing look to it that I like. But the first five people who saw it said, "Why would you get a truck that says Harley Davidson when you don't drive a Harley Davidson?"
I think I'll be happy with it, once I get past the Harley Davidson questions. I'm so pleased to be a truck owner again.

No way, man! Maybe five or ten years ago, but not anymore. In fact, I have seen a lot of Hyundais rated as the best value for the money. They've REALLY improved their cars of late. And they have a great warranty.
Now granted, when they first came out, they were like disposable cars. They came out a year or two before the Yugo, if I remember correctly - and they were perceived (justifiably so) to be in the same class as the Yugo. They were complete junk.
But my brother-in-law just bought a Sonata for about $20K, and the thing feels like a luxury car. And it's loaded! A similarly-equipped Honda would be about $10K more.

I hate to admit it, but we beat up a girl once for being a midget. A few days later, we beat up a guy for being a toddler. And, to top it off, later that day, we beat up a guy with one leg and one arm (the one arm only went to the elbow) - we beat him up for knocking himself out during a seizure. It just irritated us.
We always wanted to make sure the odds of winning a fight were in our favor.

Those little guys can be the worst ones. One time, when I was beating this guy up, he jumped on me and started biting my hand. He was like a rabid possum, that one. All I did was say that I heard Elmo had copulated with his mother (he had an Elmo doll). The guy just attacked me. And what was worse is that he had a diaper filled with poop. I swear, I'm haunted now everytime I have a bowel movement - the smell just brings back terrible memories. And plus, this guy was WAY too old to be pooping in a diaper. Heck, I don't think it was even a diaper - it was one of those Pull-Ups that you use after diapers don't fit anymore.
I ended up getting the best of him, though. And when I was done, I ripped one of the arms off Elmo (and then ran like hell - I didn't want to have that guy jump me again).

After the tennis match I tried to jump this kid in the parking lot and even though he was a twerp I knew I would have to sneek up on him and I was going to beat him over the head with my racket, well, at the last second he turned around and saw me coming. I was running full steam no way he was going to stop me I raised my racket up to smash his freckled face in and as I raised my racket he cut off my scrotum with his hook that he used for a hand.
We were on a hill in the parking lot and I could see my balls rolling down the hill. I scramble on all four to retrieve them and I almost had one when a car drives by me and runs it over. I don't remember anything after that I guess the twerp jumped me and beat me unconcsious.
I woke up three days later in the hospital. They were able to sew my balls back on even though one of them looks like a pancake. Actually quite embarrassing in front of a woman if you know what I mean?
