As records come to light of work done by vocally anti-abortion Republican Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson, CNN ponders how it will affect Thompson's standing with his right-wing base.

In 1991 and 1992, long-time lobbyist and former Senator Thompson billed 20 hours of lobbying, of which he claims no recollection, for the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, which was seking to ease federal restrictions on abortion counseling.

Thompson is further incriminated by a videotaped 1994 response in which he states a belief that the Federal Government should not involve itself in 'that process.'

He was a lobbyist for J. Aristead to get him put back in power, that worked out well. But i guess sleeping on a pile of money is the best nights sleep.....

Hmmm, I would need to see the whole piece and look at him more completely to make a decision... I think is a good thing for things like this to come out, if true, to know these folks (the best one can through the various media filters that are out there.) I like the way Thomson communicates/holds himself --admittedly not sure of his whole message yet. It is sad that the process of selecting a pres is so largely decided months before we get to cast our vote.
