View Full Version : CAT PERSON or DOG PERSON? Or ... are you "like Mike"?

I posted something in the Mike Vick thread about how much I love dogs. Gunns, gadlaw, bronco610 and several others agreed. And we know what -Slap- thinks.
POLL QUESTION: Are you a CAT PERSON or a DOG PERSON?
Voting 99% either way does not mean you hate the other pet, just that you would never want one.

Never been a fan of cats, unless he/she has a very unique personality. Most cats I know have no personality whatsoever.
Definitely a dog person

Dog person....I can share a beer with my boxer during the game....cats would rather just jump up on the table and knock your beer over for the fun of it.

I love them both and have one of each but you can't say 50/50. I believe the bond that can be formed be a dog and human is much stronger than that of cat or probably any other animal. That is part of why these allegations are so despicable.

I like both. Prefer dogs if I have to make the call. Currently we have 4 cats and 3 dogs. The dogs are much more work to care for, especially if we leave town for a few days

How many Cats do you see sniffing for bombs? How many Cats do you see helping people re-hab in Hospitals?
How many Cats do you see leading Blind People? How many Cats are being trained to detect cancer? Come on...no offense to Cats, all animals are beautiful, with the exception of Mike Tyson, bit it's not even close.....

Not to mention how fiercely loyal dogs are and how selfish cats are. Cats only come to you when they want something for themselves. Dogs just like being around you because they like your company.
Nice adopt a Bronco, too!

I have a cat that acts like a dog (drinks beer, eats almost everything, likes to be pet all day everyday, and will follow you everywhere), so I'm torn...I mostly hate dogs

Then you've been blessed because you don't like dogs but your cat doesn't act like the rest of it's species: selfish and stuck up.
And that rep is funny, Anubis. :giggle:

Bingo. Same here Militia. My cat fetches bottle caps, wants to be around me 24/7, and is more loyal than any human friend i have ever had. And Kaylore, you do not want to tango with my cat oh great one. Had a party last summer and one of the guests was coming ( trying to ) back down stairs when my cat let out this loud screech. At first, i thought someone was killing my cat but when i peeked up the staircase the other guy was clutching the back wall as my cat was sitting on the staircase growling at him. I laughed my ass off at him and picked up my cat and put her away for the rest of the night. He was terrified. :~ohyah!:

I think it has to do with male and female cats....I grew up around female cats and yes they were selfish nad stuck up...but extremely loyal to one person in the family.
the males are still loyal, but seem to be very friendly to just about anyone

Animals are cool if they are in an environment where they can thrive as an animal. I live in Socal (obviously) where people are so damn lazy that they take their neglected pet that they just had to have, to a "dog park"! Yeah, too lazy to go for a walk around the neighborhood or find a trial or hiking area. Nope just go to the "dog park" let the little turd go, and talk on their cell phones for 20 min. OR i have to deal with the assclowns that bring their little rat dogs with them in their car, and spend more time giving the little piece of $h!t attention than they do to the road!
I am pretty mellow, but i swear nothing makes me more freakin angry than this! So i am not a big animal fan for this reason. Most people dont deserve the animal they have in the 1st place.
And whats with bringing the little rat dogs everywhere. Thats the new thing around here for ladies. Get a ugly little freaking shivering, skinny little frikin' rat, and take it into the bank or grocery store so they can draw attention to themselves.
OK now i'm on a rant so i am stopping. Too early to start this.......

If I ever find someone to stay home and take care of a dog, I might think about getting one. As of now, I'm not home enough to give a dog the attention it demands. My cats will suffice, for now...

I've never liked dogs. I don't like being around them. I just don't care for them for a number of reasons (that doesn't mean that I wish harm to any of them).
I've had cats, and didn't have a problem with them. They didn't bug me at all. All I did was have to put some food down and clean the litter box, both really simple tasks.
Dogs are too active. They do too much. Kind of annoys me. Cats just hang out. They lounge around. I like that.
The only thing that pissed me off about cats was that they tore up the toliet paper. We had to put it up high or it would get all torn up.

just found out today that my friend had to put his dog to sleep because of liver failure. Turk was about 10 yrs old and a great dog. Hearing about this mad me sad and realize even more why people are so upset with Vick and his dog fighting.

Jason you should get a snake then. You just throw a Rat in there once a week and keep water in the dish. Hell snakes love it when you just leave them alone and feed them. They love to lounge around and the poop doesn't stink.

Damn Kahn, that's I think the first post of yours that I 100% disagree with.
I have nothing against cats and had a really good one until his passing a few years ago but I very much prefer dogs. You come home and the dog just acts like he's going to bust with love and happiness to see you again. Your like a god to him. A cat on the other hand will usually act like, chit, you back already? ;D

I used to want a snake, but I'm pretty much done with the animal thing. I like people. I like being around people. I don't really need an animal to comfort me. They just kind of get in the way. I can deal with a cat, but that's about it.
