on NFL live stated that the defensive rookie MVP this season will be Jarvis Moss. That the broncos can count on atleast 10 sacks his rookie season.
He also said the scariest thing he faced on the field was TD running at him at the 2yrd line. He said that he took a knee to the head and woke up the next morning.
Can't believe I'm hearing all the love from Eric Allen.

I think Allens silver roots have starded to fade recently. He has gone from a certified hater to rather complimentary as of late.

I would be happy if he plays 30% of the snaps on defense.

Reggie Hayward....only two seasons ago. (Make that 3....did it in 2004)
And Berry had more than 10 the season before.
Pryce's 10+ sack seasons for the Broncos were well before either of them.

Is it really that hard to believe? He is more talented then Dum and he had 8.5sacks last year. Someone on our team will have 10 plus sacks this year. Just adding Bly to the secondary will cause the QBs to hold the ball a tad longer. I think as a team we could end up in the top ten in sacks this year.
I believe we will have more of a inside push from the DTs which will help.

Great....so does that mean he'll want twice what Freeney is now scheduled to make for his whole 5 sacks last season? :contract:

There was a point last year where the frustration had peaked beyond a sense of reality - I was convinced that even I could get 1+ sack in a game. Watching our defense last year has Bates just laughing I bet. I'm sure we'll get to the QB this year regardless of how many sacks each player has. And I'm 99% sure Lynch will be competing for the most with our huge DL rotation dispersing opportunity and the leaving the coverage to Champ/Bly the lock down corners. You know Bates loves to get some love to those HOF vets and I'm sure Sledgehammer can't wait! You gotta love the anticipation to see what this group can do with a great leader.

What's this? A rotational pass-rusher who will see limited snaps, but will still get a good number of sacks?

If Moss comes in right away and impresses and earns a starting job somewhere early on in the season, 10 isn't going to be that hard to get. If Dumervil can get 8.5 sacks, I'd assume Moss could. Well, I'd hope so. He couldn't be in a better situation.

Is Bradie Frail the best you got? you sir are a homer. if a bronco is hyed up he is god, if a chief or any other player is hyped up, he is crap...

Ahhh, Marcus McNeill was on the field quite a bit last year in his rookie season going to the Pro-bowl for the Bolts. And he couldn't drink very much because he had two broken hands the whole season (still only gave one sack). I look for his sacks against count to drop and his beer intake to increase this coming season.
Oops, never mind, I see you were talking about the two squaws mentioned earlier in the post.

The more Broncos score the more chances Moss and Dumerville will get to have a big year. If teams are ahead and running the ball they won't. If teams are behind and throwing alot the just might.

Its not so much rival fans as much as its rival trolls. KCDud has proven to be a huge KC homer, funny b/c he calls me one, but he never says anything of substance.
Take for instance his last attack on me saying its ok for a Bronco to be hyped but not a Chief. In my post I never mentioned the Bronco. I only mentioned the Bowe comment. My reasoning is not because I think Bowe will be a dud my reasoning is because the KC QB situation is in flux, their O-Line is in transition and they tend to lean on LJ more as of late. This all combined makes it very difficult for a WR to be a huge impact as a rookie.
As for our guy. Expecting 10 sacks out of the rook is pretty lofty but may be attainable. My fear is he will hit the college wall like many do and may even hit it earlier because he was kicked off the team in November. His legs might give and with another early bye week this year I think 5-7 sacks is more attainable. But hey thats just me.

There were several quality defencesive players that came out of this last draft...Guys like Adams,Willis,Okoye,Landry and Moss, just to name a few, will all have a legit shot at the D rookie MVP...I think this will be one of the closer rookie D battles there has been in some time...
I also,never thought i'd ever hear Allen giving us some luv,but, there's a 1st time for everything,I guess...

I use facts in my arguments. Saying Moss will completely destroy Brodie is an unknown. Hali had 8 sacks, 5 FF's, and an INT while being hurt for 3 games and Allen averages 9 sacks a season..
How is KC's QB situation in flux? Just because the media is making a big deal out of it doesn't mean it's a problem. Huard averaged 211 passing yards a game with the worst LT in the NFL last year. He made good passes when needed.
If Croyle starts, it will probably be even better since he has a stronger arm and ability to open up the field

good point...i think Willis will win it though. He has Mike Singletary to help him, plus he looked amazing in college all by himself. He IMO is the most passionate defensive player in this draft...

The fact that you don't even know your QB means its in flux, nimrod. Also I wasn't the one saying our guys were going to lay out Brodie Croyle. I just think its dumb for Bowe to be the frontrunner as the rookie to make the most impact. Not just based on the QB but the line, and the reliance to run the hell out of LJ.

Does that reassure you?
This is Herm Edwards, the guy who kept sending Chad Pennington out on the field when he was throwing wobbly ducks just 10 yards down the field not too long ago. Guy's arm had basically just been stitched back on and Herm figured he was the best choice to win games with.
Herm Edwards is not a guy who's ability to evaluate the QB I'd invest heavily in. If Al Saunders was still around I could see it. Your offensive coordinator previously was an OL guy (with a little double duty with TEs thrown in). You have a RB coach, an OL coach, an assistant OL coach. No QB coach. The only person you have with real experience working with QBs is your offensive assistant/quality control and he played QB/WR for South Florida about 15 years ago.
Croyle has some ok skills but he needs a ton of work to be a good QB. He didn't spend enough time on the field in college due to injuries as it was. Then you have Huard, a career journeyman who had one good stint with you last year.
I wouldn't call your QB situation in flux, that implies a period of transition, I'd call it flat out adrift. Lost at sea. Discombobulated to the extreme.
