Sometimes I wonder if Mock was just an "act" on the board. He pm'ed me a few times and seemed like a nice guy...his pm's were totally different from the way he is on the board.

OK, I'm starting to feel a little weird... Everyone keeps talking about these "nice" PM"s they recieved the one's i got from Mock were even more deranged than his public posts... Maybe i just have that effect on people.8')

No. My eyes were kind of blurry that night, but it looked like he called me a trucker. In fact, he called me a mother trucker - but DUH! I'm not a woman, so I couldn't ever be a mom; and I work from home. So wrong on both counts, man! Then he seemed to call me a piece of Mitt - I can only assume it was because he knew I was Mormon, and he was making reference to Mitt Romney. Then he said something about being a Jazz hole. I told him I'm a Nuggets fan - I don't even like the Jazz. Finally, he seemed to think I was the son of a rich guy. But seriously, my dad lives on a small pension and social security, so I have no idea where he would get that.

I guess I don't mind people calling me names. I just wish they could be more accurate.

Mock would rake me over the coals in a PM over some post that he had completely misinterpreted but than he would remember he loves to fish and that I might be a connection go deep sea sport fishing in Cabo and he would quickly send another PM back peddling like a kayaker being sucked over a falls.

I would always laugh my ass off.

Mock if you are reading this that fishing trip is waiting for you, if you can manage to stay awake that is.

Well, good or bad, I definitely think he's happy right now. And touched. I'm sure he's received my packet and 610's printout of this thread by today (Tuesday) at the latest. And Req's awesome card and packet by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. Add to that the dozens of cards and letters everone else is sending, and he's gotta be touched.

And surprised.

Think about it ... all the grief we give him (most deserved), occassionally talk of even banning him. Then he goes into the hospital for 5-6 weeks and doesn't hear a word. In his depressed state, he might've felt we were all "glad he was gone." Then suddenly - this past Saturday, and trickling in all this week - OMG THEY LOVE ME!! STFU!

Add all this up, and I bet his physical condition improves quickly because of all of our letters. ;D

Even money he's back before opening weekend ...

I jused to go "close down" the pizza joint where she managed...she would skim at least 40 bucks a night...then weould have a big party into the night...We would all be stupid drunk and the cops might bang on the door and we all went quiet...we shook down the pac man machine and defender to get their quarters...

I mean turned over...People don't have a clue who I was in my prime...I wrecked 6 cars by the age 22. Let me think. First one, I was in a swamp and wentinto a cornfield and it a tree...that was a bad one...Then my dad got me another, another Cutlass, and some chick said we could catch air...I sunk the frame...Then I got a 69 LeMans 400 which was crazy fast, I let someone drive that and he sideswiped it...Then I went and sold cars...I took a Celica...I didn't wreck that one...then my dad died, and I just took a demo...that worked fine till the GM saw me after a big general meeting...all I did with that car was hit a bunch of road markers on I-225. That was a good car..I did a full 360 in that car.

Bevore that I had a Corolla GTS, same engine as the MR2...I odn't think I wrecked that car. I wrecked it, Ijust can't rememger how.

Then I had a ForeRunner and I had the odometer unhooked and some b**** pulled in front of me,,,and that that one crashed.

Then they took demos away. (mind ou I stole one)

So I bought this cheap 300 buck Cutllass thre on the tree that had clutch shatter...

When I went to fix the Forerunner the guy said he would fix the odometer!

I didn't even tell you when I kidnapped a mitsubishi PU on a 2000 mile trip...

One time I was in Dallas, and in a Mustang GT C. He's doing cookes...he takes off...

Thay caught him and dragged him off.

Here's a good one, it gives insight to the persona Mock. Note:I edited out some stuff with ***.

I was so pissed I made a bunch of spelling errors.. People think I don't do anything...I'm co-chairman of two LLC's and a financial advisor...yes I'm incredibly lazy but can get stuff done people don't know about.

Stuff like *** washes off in a few minutes, but damn, I'm full blooded German...and I have a temper to match Hitler. It's really short lived tho. I carry more that *** will in his life. It looks like I'm on this place constantly...I'm usually opening the 20 letters every day. I've gone thru 6 inch piles. Baja...I freakin' have a letter opener and put bandaids on my two fingers. Then I have to go to the farm account books. We have three disaster litigations, ***k in unsecured CC debt and I have to listen to this two bit POS? Mech wants me to visit...I'm a much bigger player than these punks think. Oh it doesn't matter Baja...people don't know I do alot more that it looks like. Beezer says high from the quilt. He's giving himself a bath again.

Few people know that stupid cat saves my sanity. He does have a serious gambling problem tho and somehow got oahold of the business account. I check this thread out every few days to see how he is doing but I am not sad he isnt posting. My dream is that he comes out A ok and then realizes he has been wasting his life away posting on the Mane. He will go on a walk across America to bring the attention to Peanut Butter misgivings. Of course he will go off on a tangent about a whole different topic during his curb side speeches. He then decides Canada needs to hear what is going on and tries to promote jelly and banana sandwiches as favorite sandwich of Canada (he knows US wont go for it). He walks 5,000 miles and finally gets all the alcohol out of his blood system (hey, there is a lot of alcohol in there). He then comes back as a poster to the Mane as a totally different guy. His handle is Doug. That is it. Just Doug. Well, that is my dream.

I don't understand the issue.

We all sent in cards, I for one don't expect updates or a thank-you, just wish the guy well.

I guess what I am trying to convey is that we are not entitled to regular updates.

I am confident as revelant info comes out we will get it.

BTW I am glad that there are not 3 or more guys from this site hounding loved ones while he is in ICU.

I think most of us here are very anxious for news updates on Mock's condition... it certainly appears to me that a lot of prayers and positive thoughts are going his way. Hopefully he'll be back here himself soon, with tales about flirting with all the nurses. :P

I had a conversation with Mock's Mom tonight. He's no longer in the ICU, though he's still connected to machines and still has a treach tube running down his throat to keep his air flow open. As such, he's still difficult to understand, though his mom says that the nurses there have really gotten good at conversing with him. And wouldn't you know it, Mock loves talking to nurses. Apparently, he's got three favorites whose company he really enjoys. She didn't say whether he calls them his kittens, but everyone here knows that it's sitting up there somewhere in his head.

She says that there are some real signs of progress in his motor skills. He's regained the feelings in his arms and legs, and has been able to demostrate ability in his hands, though it's not entirely smooth. Still it's a very good sign. She says he's got strength, for sure, but his brain isn't exactly clear on how how to use it correctly. He's got some physical therapy ahead of him.

He raised eyebrows on Saturday, when he crawled out of bed and decided he was going to leave the hospital. He only got as far as the door though. Everybody was astonished that he made the attempt, but overall, they took it as a very good sign. The doctors fought hard to get him well enough to be out of the ICU, and so seeing this kind of will in him is reassuring to everyone (even if he should have stayed in bed).

He and his family are very touched by the cards and letters that everyone has sent. His mom wanted to relay how it really means a lot to them that people care enough to do this, and they're all very touched by it.

That's all for now. Keep up the prayers. He definitely needs them.

Nice to hear of some progress. I knew two people that were in ICU for at least 10 days each. Both had motor problems and had a hard time making connections with their brain. For both, several days after being taken out of ICU they began to improve rapidly in both areas. I think it may be the drugs they give them while in there. I hope this is the case with Mock.

What do you estimate long and short timeframe for his comeback to the Mane? Do you think he's out of the woods or could he go south given the lack of infromation?

They don't have any answers for that. At one time, they didn't even think he was going to make it out alive. The doctors just don't have any idea how long any of this will take. It's up to his body.

Yes ... the fact that a good portion of Mock's health troubles were reactions to medication of some kind does complicate things. These "peanut butter" attorneys are nothing but "referral mills." Local attorneys pay the lead class-action counsel a fee to be referred local cases. Most of the attorneys (their support staff actually) who responded to my messages have been maddeningly uninformative. I ask to have counsel himself/herself call me back, but only one actually has, and he sounded bored and hick-ish. I've narrowed it down to 2 or 3, but Mock's brother and Mom sounded like they didn't want to choose between competing guys, so I'm kinda feeling responsible to get the right firm for him. He should get a visit by the end of this week, early next at the latest.

I sent him a second packet Saturday, with a few printouts of articles and stuff. I'm collecting some of the TC reports to send him later.

and the alcohol is part of the recovery (rehab) that probably isnt to his liking. That Arkansas roof is gonna look like crap when he gets working on it so he can get back to beezer and help his son on Meth Alley all before regular season starts.Where did you get that information? I am assuming that they dont give Mock beer during his physical recovery. I was answering a post from some that thought he is in alcohol rehab. I was stating that he is NOT getting alcohol currently. Tie my post to about the 10 posts before mine to figure it out.

Well, I kinda thought it went without saying... I was replying to the title of the thread. It's great that he is getting better. You never know though, but I'd imagine there are those who wish ill will on others out there. I haven't combed through this thread, but I hope no one like that has replied.

“It’s truly a miracle that he’s alive” were the closing words of Mock’s brother tonight when I talked to him for the second time. As you all know, he was comatose and is currently in a rehab clinic in Arkansas.

Without going into too much detail, here are the updates from notes I took when talking to his brother:

He is “out of the woods” when it comes to life/death situation. Two weeks ago he had a trach down his throat, now he is able to eat and speak.

He is very quick mentally and is keeping the family laughing a lot. His brother thinks he is wittier than ever. He has good memory, and has vivid memories of dreams he had when he was in the coma.

His brother sees his progress as going well, but Mock is easily frustrated and agitated with some of his perception as to the lack of physical progress.

When he came out of the coma, he had very little feeling or controlled movement of his arms or legs. Currently he is getting more ability with his arms, but Mock feels like he is “all thumbs” and isn’t very close to being able to navigate a computer.

Obviously he isn’t able to walk, and the prognosis for that isn’t known when I asked about it.

Bottom line, it appears that he is very fortunate to be where he is today. On the other hand, he has a long way to go. If you are a person of faith, I encourage you to continue to pray for Brian. His family is grateful for all the mail and encouragement that he has received.

** Taco - feel free to merge this with the Mock update - I thought perhaps more people would read it initially here than if I just added it to the current thread.

Wow. I really hope he is doing better. The rehab is so mentally taxing as you have no basis for what is OK, what is good, or what is not good. I have worked a with a few people who have struggled with recovering from a stroke or other debilitating injuries and the families need as much counseling or more than the the person themselves. I hope all the spit and vinegar can be channeled into his rehab efforts

On a side note, Springstein see if he has a DVD player and I will send him the preseason games of his choice OK. I have all the Denver games on TIVO and a lot of the other teams as well that I can burn to DVD if he wants them.

Cutler looks good, but the OL is still struggling like always in Protection in the preseason. Luckily, there are only minor injuries to this point. Scheffler, Marshall, Henry, Mike Bell, and Jarvis moss have been dinged. Hamilton, Lepsis, and the OL have been out with nagging stuff too, but not serious.

Med pretty much answered your questions but this TC has been injury riddled. Luckily mostly minor but they are adding up and there has been very little gelling time.

He was going to Arkansas and on the way he ate a sandwich with peanut butter on it. You may have heard about the tainted PB that had salmonella. Well he had to go to the hospital and the medicine they ended up giving him caused a severe allergic reaction and put him in a coma. He was on a breathing tube and everything.

funny, he is still waiting for the answers to his questions. Warren was sent to Faiders for a 5th round pick. Dont worry about injuries, just your own recovery and Cutler is doing fine. Mock, there is a program that I use at work called Dragon Natually Speaking (it is a voice recognition program) that allows me to just say the words, and the program will type it on the screen .. way faster than typing for me ...and pretty darn accurate ...

For what it is worth, and once again glad you checked in! :thumbsup:
