In an off-season that claimed the life of CB Darrent Williams, the Broncos have been one of the most active teams. First, to replace Williams, the Broncs sent Tatum Bell and George Foster to the Lions for CB Dre Bly. Later they signed Travis Henry, Daniel Graham, Sam Adams, and Patrick Ramsey and cut long time Bronco Al Wilson. In all I think the Broncos made some very good personnel decisions. Mike Bell is ready to be plugged in to the system and carry the load and Dre Bly gives them a bookend All Pro corner opposite Champ Bailey.

QB - Jay Cutler starts his second season with big expectations. This team was not that far away last year, but Cutler needed a little experience to build on for 2007. He certainly has all the tools to play at this level and showed flashes of greatness last year.

RB - Mike Bell takes over the bulk to the ball carrying duty with Tatum Bell shipped off to Detroit. Travis Henry may or may not be past his prime, I can't decide. As much as he likes to platoon RBs, don't be surprised if Shanahan brings in a third back to compete for carries.

WR - Javon Walker anchors a solid WR corps. Rod Smith is like 106 and has some nagging injuries, but Brandon Marshall has made an impression on coaches and Brandon Stokley adds depth at the position assuming he can stay on the field.

TE - Tony Scheffler and Stephen Alexander caught a combined 36 passes for 446 yards and 6 TDs last year and Daniel Graham gives Cutler another sure-handed target in the red zone.

D - John Lynch, Champ Bailey, Nick Ferguson, and Dre Bly are arguably the best secondary in the league (Baltimore is good too). MLB Nate Webster played in only 3 games last season and the down linemen can disappear at times. It's going to be up the the big guys up front and the LBs to stop the run because passing on this team will not happen.

I expect Denver to be better than their 9-7 of a year ago. This has the look of a playoff team to me. Put me down for 11-5.
