Anyone know if any of our rook's have been signed yet?
Do you forsee any problems with signing anyone this year?
I haven't seen anything and am too busy/lazy to look it up.

Broncos first-round DE Jarvis Moss expects to have his contract signed (http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_6336437) in time for training camp.

They will all be signed by camp. Most years they don't announce the signings till the last week before camp.

Usually they try to get them all done at once.
Now that you mention it, I havn't heard much of any signings, but I could just be out of the loop.

Any of these rooks represented by Drew Rosenhaus? Considering Thomas signed this early, I'll take that as a "no" for him....

Nah. Expect two or three by Saturday next.....
I am positive that none of the 3 remaining draftee's will hold out. You will not have a very long career playing for Shanny if you hold out. See Tatum Bell as my example. I expect all 3 to be signed by Friday afternoon.... or sooner.

You know that's right. If you don't want to end up on Shanny's chit list you better get youself signed and in camp

Yeah, Tatum's inability to stay healthy over 3 seasons was less of a factor in his trade than the fact that he wasn't into camp on time in '04.

Tatum certainly put himself behind the eight ball and lead to a relationship with Shanny that Tatum could never understand after his holdout. Its certainly a total package...health, the fumbles and of course Shannys attitude towards him part of which was built when tatum held out.

So that's why he was the starter this year when healthy? And why Shanny kept giving him every opportunity to be the starter all 3 years he was here? You guys are massively overexaggerating the impact of his holdout. It might have impacted year 1, but not years 2 and 3.
The "Shanny's doghouse" comment gets way more play than it actually deserves, right up there with "stashing" people on IR.

They will all start signing soon since camp is around the corner. Once when guys drafted around Jarvis Moss are signed he will be signed very shortly after.

So it is massively overexaggerated...... Your opinion on this is based on what FACTS? or is it the same exaggeration we are talking about. Tatum is the only draft choice ever to miss a day of camp under Shanny's reign because of his contract/agent issues. Funny that things happened the way they did ever since then.

Yeah, all those injuries in Years 2 and 3 were because he missed the beginning of camp in Year 1.
That's absurd on its face, but keep up the quality posting.

Steelers signed their first round pick. They set the mark all the other teams that pick by them will work off their numbers. Only a matter of time before Moss signs.

Herc, last year you made the statement that the league has "procedures" and stuff to ensure that there is no stashing of people on the IR, yet one week into camp, half this board was already calling Eslinger to the IR when it was undisputed that he was perfectly healthy. It's obvious, dude. Same with LeSueur and others.
If there are really procedures in place, then half the board will not be able to call it a month before it happens. Come on.

Well to Herc's defense, Mason (Andrew) actually stated, or was is J. Michael Moore (Now with the Falcons) that said Eslinger did have surgery. . .

I think in regard to IR that young players you can sort of do a wink wink thing with and no one raises a stink. Many times it would be the player screaming hey I'm healthy and can play, if you don't want me cut me etc. But with younger players that may be only slightly injured they are just glad to not get cut. IE Eslinger.

Ofcourse he had surgery...they found something old to clean up....they have to do something....same as with LeSueur, they cleaned up some old back injury or whatever (according to Med).
The chance of people collectively calling it a month before hand and it being a coincidence is basically zero.

Uh huh. I believe Eslinger tore his pec in one of the final preseason games, he was actually injured.
and speculation from people on this board is about the last thing I'm going to put stock in when it comes to the veracity of the claim that he was stashed.

Bull****. This is a board full of people who don't know dick about what is actually going on with this team (and I'm not claiming I do), 99.9% of the posters here have no connection to the team. Look at 95% of the threads on this board, just about every conceivable scenario is thrown out there by someone. Just because something that's speculated on actually happens does not make them right. A bunch of people thinking Eslinger might be stashed on IR because they believe he won't clear waivers, does not mean he was actually stashed there when he was put on IR.

No, he did not have a pectoral tear, it dealt with his shoulder.

Unlike what Herc says We're just extremely smart. We could tell by the Eslinger was sitting on the bench that he was obviously going to be prone to injury.

Yeah but the scenario you are talking about is not what happened. Its not like we are saying ok, X/Y/Z/A/B/C could all be on the IR and throwing everybody's name out there, so that it wouldnt be surprising if one of them actually came to be true..it was basically JUST Eslinger from the start because he was physically weak and was getting overwhelmed by the DTs. Yet, he was too intriguing to cut because he fits the style so well and is so smart.
And now you say that it was in the final (or one of the final) preseason games that he tore a pec. Wow...well that sure helps to make decisions easier right before the final cut down date. That is a load of crap. Nothing is wrong with Eslinger, just as there was nothing wrong with LeSueur, other than the fact that he was way down on the depth chart at corner and Coyer thought he was a long way aways from being where he needed to be.....he is fine, he plays in all the games, nothing is reported....then *poof*...out of nowhere, he has a hernia problem. Give me a break. It's obvious. You cant cut a 3rd round pick, you want to be laughed at around the league? Come on.

MoC is a different situation because it is becoming a cancer in the lockerroom whereby he is violating team rules, constantly coming up to Shanny and saying I need more touches whereby Shanny needs to sit down with him like 10 times (his words not mine) and talk to him about how he needs to work his way up etc. We are talking about the situation where there is no infection of the lockerroom and problem children, but rather just a guy who you selected high who is an absolute stiff. You gotta save face (and maybe more importantly, if u feel he has any upside, u gotta keep him on the club somehow).

Oh ok, I never knew that part. I thought it was just 'cause he was half hurt all preseason. I remember the old classic "You can't make the club if you're in the tub" line. I thought that was the biggest issue.

I can't speak to this injury stashing business, but IMO Herc's original comment was true. Tatum not getting into camp on time had zero to do with his being traded. He had poor hands (couldn't catch and fumbled a lot) and displayed on multiple occasions that he couldn't be the #1 RB. He was given many, many chances.

That is obvious. He was the starting RB last year if he would have produced he still would be the starting RB. His camp from 3 years ago has nothing to do with it.

I've learned that the team has made considerable progress with the three remaining unsigned draftees and all should be in camp beginning this next weekend.
I don't know the details, but I've heard that the toughest of the contract talks has been with 3rd rounder Ryan Harris.
A litte surprising there, I suppose, but Moss & Crowder have stated publicly that they have told their agents to get the contracts done so they can be in camp.

Isn't he the guy with the least leverage? We do have some Oline depth. I would think he would want to be in and compete.
