I didn't agree with the assesment that he "struggled a lot" - I mean, he had his moments, but compared to most rookies, he did fine - outside a few bad interceptions and the fumbles. He looked like a seasoned veteran out there on some instances, probably the best performance by a rookie quarterback in a while.

I believe Cutler sandwiched three good games in between two bad games (SEA, SF{in which he was pounded repeatedly until he was knocked out of the game}). But I never got the feeling that he was 'struggling'. You're right, it takes time.
