Where do some of our Broncos fall....I've been planning out some of my picks and it doesnt seem like I am in position to get any of them near their value...here are my picks
5. Too early for Henry but he won't make it back around
20. Walker shouldnt be drafted this high
29. Nor this high
44. He'll be gone by now
53. Cutler?
62. ?
77
It doesnt help that I draft with all Jets fans who take complete delight in picking a Bronco and then slapping five with each other....they even reach for guys...last year Mike Bell AND Tatum Bell went in the late 3rd early 4th round. Javon went in the 2nd

Don't forget Daniel Graham. The guy was always a pretty good fantasy backup TE in NE and he has the potential to be a pretty good starter with the Broncos. I'd say if you can get him in the late 90's or early 100's you might have a steal on your hands.

In my draft I was able to grab Cutler in the 9th(86) and in some mock drafts I've seen him go anywhere from high 60s to 90s. With Walker you are probably right in that he will go somewhere around 30-40.
Henry might be a very slight reach at 5 but I can understand taking him that high. He has very good potential to flourish in Denver and put up some great numbers. Your top 5 in no particular order are most likely Tomlinson, Jackson, LJ, Gore, Alexander.

yeah, I do have that top 5 but there are so many questions
alexander - the line could be horrendous this year
gore - did he peak last year? as alex smith progresses he'll lose touches
LJ - I would never pick a chief
Tomlinson - will go 1
Parker - again, did he peak last year?? and they have a new coach and scheme
McGahee is a close 6
Henry isnt a BAD pick at 5 but it definitely is a HUGE risk....it pisses me off because i took 3rd in my league last year but we had a draft lottery and i ended up in the middle which is tough

I would take westbrook at 5..if lt & gore gone......I would also not hesitate to take addai at 5 either...before question marks Alexander, LJ

#1 rule of fantasy football - dont be a :homer:
But I dont play fantasy football because I am not comfortable rooting against my team for any reason. Watching a Bronco game with a fellow fan, and he has LT as his fantasy RB - made me puke in the back of the mouth to hear this guy (a bronco fan himself) cheering when LT would make a solid gain. I told him he was a traitor and sell out to meaningless $25 fantasy football league. lol

yeah, its hard but it makes it all the more fun when i get to see chad pennington taken at #35
i usually stay away from Broncos, except for the Defense (you can't go wrong with that, except for the end of last year haha) but this year I NEED one of our "studs" (don't want to jinx it) on my squad
but then again that leads to me yelling "PASS THE BALL!" at the 1 yard line because i have Javon Walker

At least 5 people are making a big mistake if they pass....twice....on T. Henry. Seriously. I almost never pick Broncos unless they drastically fall down the charts....but that's just silly. He's guaranteed a 1,200-1,500 yard season and double digit TDs if he stays healthy. Who here can name 15 RBs that are realistically going to do better than that?

oh I agree, but so far I have done 4 drafts and he hasn't been any higher than 10...and that was by me......lol

I know how you feel but I separate fantasy football from Bronco football. If I have LT on my team and they are playing Denver I hope he gets shut down and doesn't do anything and the Broncos get the W. I don't play for money so it's not that upsetting if my guys don't do anything against Denver.

Thats how it should be if one must play fantasy football. I was disgusted with this 'Bronco fan' for rooting against our D every time LT touched the ball.
Fantasy Football bragging rights is not worth it IMO.

I'd only take Westbrook if very few starters were left. The guy is always injured. I got LT and Gore on one of my teams last year. When I picked up Gore a SF fan laughed at me. I was laughing at him at the end of the year and told him to learn something about his own team.

LOL at the SF comment. I agree with Westbrook, to me he is one of those guys I will only take if I really need too. Last year was his first time rushing over 1000 yds and who knows what he will do this year since we all know Andy Reid loves to pass the ball.

First rule that I go by is that I don't draft or pick up any Bronco/Chief/Raider players in FF. Second rule is that if a player on my team is facing the Chargers that week, I bench him. I don't care if he's Peyton Manning. Sure you may suffer one week in FF but it Solves all the problems of rooting against your team or rooting for other teams in your division.

You're more man than the rest of us Boltaneer. When I have a player against the Broncos, I do notice that it gets a big part of my attention. I'll always talk it up in a "I don't care about FF, I just want the Broncos to win" but I've caught myself trying to validate it with "If they MUST score, please let it be so and so." That's a reason my old boss hated FF is that he couldn't be loyal to his team and still root for everyone else, the conflicts are always there. I generally end up reminding myself about 300,000 times per season that no matter who I cheer for, it wont affect anything and I generally sit there idle watching. I do try to avoid playing the D that's playing the Broncos - First because it's never a good play and second because that's cheering for complete offensive failure for that D to succeed, that's just too much for me to put on the line. When the sun goes down, I'm still a Bronco fan at heart. Beating my buddies in FF just comes in close behind.

You're right in that it doesn't matter who you cheer for because in the end it doesn't have any affect on the game but it does have an effect on your enjoyment.
I put my enjoyment of my team and the game above FF. Where I do get enjoyment is rooting for teams and players that I normally wouldn't care much about (mostly in the NFC). I usually watch the games at a friend's house and we have the NFL Ticket so we watch as many games as we can. FF definitely makes that experience more enjoyable (especially if some of us have players/defenses going against each other in those games).
I don't know if I've gotten lucky or what but I've made it to the championship game twice in the three years that I've been playing, despite using my non-AFC West strategy. But I've turned into the Marty of our FF league because I can't win the Championship. ;)
Anyway, I would suggest giving it a shot one year and see how much more you enjoy rooting for players you actually want to root for (unless you have the number one pick. Then you have to pick LT!) :)

Sad but true. I don't know how many games LT won all by himself for me last season.

KFFL.com will have individual player rankings up in about a week, and they have early outlooks for young players like Brandon Jacobs up already. They also got specialized team notebooks, so you might want to check that out.

That is definitely one of the first rules of fantasy football. Even though logic says that your team will do well if the real team wins, players detract from each others' values in some way or another and you're better off taking a risk on either the No. 1 or No. 2 receiver of a team--not both. Quarterback and receiver pairings are ok, but I don't recommend quarterback-running back pairs.
Travis Henry should be ranked somewhere between 10 and 14 among RBs. Henry is a border-line #1 Fantasy RB and great #2 RB. Realistically he's still playing with a QB with only 5 starts, he has a minor injury history, is playing in a new scheme, and has a backup (Bell) that scored 8 TDs last year. I expect 1100-1200 yards and 8-9 TDs.
Walker should be ranked somewhere between 12 and 16 among WRs. He's among the lower-tier of #1 Fantasy WRs and a steal as a #2. Realistically, like Henry, he's playing with a QB with only 5 starts and he plays on team with a traditionally strong running game. Other (yet smaller factors) are that he's still just 1 season removed from a major knee injury and we don't know if he still has emotional/mental disarray for being with D-Will when he was murdered.
I personally don't think Graham or Scheffler are "starting" Fantasy TEs in leagues with 14 or less teams. They'll both be solid plug-and-play backups and Scheffler makes a nice sleeper but, at this point, I wouldn't peg either a Fantasy starter.

i got killed last year when the Broncos played Indy
I never start players against the Broncos...
I had Wayne on the bench (4TDs) and the Broncos D
lost by about 80 points

Javon will be a top 5 fantasy WR.
Write it down.
If you don't believe me, look up Rod Smith's stats with Elway.

In the past i have had guys like LT on my team and just wouldn't play them against the Broncos. But this year is different. I don't want anyone from the West on my team, except for Broncos. I had the 1st overall pick in my league and i did take LT and the internet went down so i autopicked Gates as well. But those two will both be gone before the season starts.
