I just heard on ESPN that Matt Holliday will be the 4th National Leaguer in the Home Run Derby tonight. I guess Miguel Cabrera had to pull out for a shoulder injury.

I'm not big on these spectacles they create around the all star games, but good for Matt. He deserves it and I hope he creates some exposure for himself nationally.

The HRD used to be cool....now one has to mute the channel in order to stand it....unless you actually like hearing Chris Berman say "backbackbackbackbackback" 8,000 times in one night.

For the record, my money's on Vlad to win it.

I agree with you. It is a blown out of proportion spectacle. With that said, I am happy to see the Rocks get some representation tonight.

Seems to me that AT&T park favors left handed HR hitters, doesn't? I like Fielder or Howard in this thing.

I was hoping he wouldn't get in. The last few years, a good portion of those competing in the Home Run Contest have sucked for the rest of the year. It seems to me that they mess up their swings.

Vlad, take it home baby. I have not been this excited about a derby since Big mac days.

Not to mention ESPN dragged it out into three separate rounds and the event spans three hours now.

He jacked one 460 that is pretty impressive.

I thought he did good. 13 total homeruns, tied for 4th.

I've never really watched one of these before because they didn't do it back in 1994 when I last paid attention.

Tried to watch it last night but stretching out about 20 minutes of content into 3 hours was insufferable.

Thumbs down to ESPN...

However, I thought that Bronx is Burning show was pretty cool.
