Broncos' Peterson suspended for steroids
By The Associated Press
Article Last Updated: 07/06/2007 12:13:23 PM MDT

Denver - Denver Broncos defensive end Kenny Peterson has been suspended without pay for violating the NFL's steroid policy, the team said today.

The Broncos released an NFL statement saying Peterson will be suspended without pay for the first four games of 2007 starting Aug. 31. The statement said Peterson had violated the policy on anabolic steroids and related substances but didn't specify what he had done.

Peterson will be able to join the Broncos for training camp but won't be able to return to the active roster until Oct. 1 after the Broncos play the Indianapolis Colts.

Peterson was cut by Green Bay last September and signed with the Broncos to replace Courtney Brown, who had to undergo a left knee operation five weeks into the season.

Green Bay picked Peterson in the third-round of the 2003 draft.

Bummer!

Thanks for nothing. Raiders are calling. We bag them yesterday on their player and now it happens to us. Hope someone else step up during those 4 weeks and knocks him down on the depth chart.

Damn blood/piss tests.....why couldn't the league just hook him up to a lie detector?

How can you further knock down the lowest person on the depth chart?

Peterson made a big mistake. He didn't need steroids, all he had to do is stay within 5 feet of Domenik Hixon. His aura of power increases the speed, strength, and stamina of all in his presence.

The real question is: Is it illegal to do blood doping with Hixon's blood? If Hixon could give transfusions to other team members, the Broncos would go 19-0, no problem.

He was on the bubble and living off the fact that he's played in Bates' system before as it was. This is probably the end of his pro career.

It all plot by the Mastermind to keep extra depth on the roster for 4 more weeks. The league must be getting wise to the pinkie injury scheme

Think he'll play hard in TC now??

It's prove himself or sell insurance time.

And then even after that it has to go into arbitration before I will fully consider it.

It is a good idea to keep him around until his 4 weeks are up. Why not? Just do what we did w/Sourbuns last year.
