The Gist: The Bush administration filed a friend-of-the-court briefing last year urging them to uphold a 33 month prison sentence for an ex-marine (24 years served).
The charge? Perjury and obstruction of justice. Interestingly, it was exactly the same conviction that Libby received. They argued that the sentence was reasonable for the crimes committed. Which is interesting, because the reason given for commuting Libby's sentence was because the sentence was obviously 'to harsh'.
It'd be hysterical if it wasn't so sad.

How sad. Heard about this guy who is serving 55 years for selling pot to an undercover cop. He has been trying to get this sentence reduced but bush has done squat.

Talking about Marines...look into to the Col Chessani case. As a former Marine, this makes me want to puke. I can't wait for Bush to be out on his ass, now all we need is a viable third party candidate. Anybody know of one?? lol

Maybe his family hasn't suffered as badly as Libby's.
The litany of sad stories related to drug-related prison sentences is endless.
