Billy Corgan is singing with his nose pinched, but it's a pretty good cd. I like it.

Shockingly, he talks about how fkd up this country is ala Linkin Park, Green Day, Tool, and any other artist with a working brain.

I agree. A few singles here and there were good imo.

Mellon Collie could've been pared down to one great single CD, IMHO.

Although not nearly as annoying as Blink 182's Tom DeLonge, Corgan deserves some blame for popularizing the annoyingly high pitched, bratish, nasal vocal whine that ruins much of what passes for Alternative and Emo these days....an unforgivable offense in these parts.

Corgan has a terrible "singing" voice. It's horrid. It's like listening to someone running their nails down a chalk board. When I heard the Pumpkins remake that old Fleetwood Mac tune (can't think of the name of that song) it made me cringe, Corgan's voice was so bad. But, it still got played on the radio...

On the flip side, Corgan has a great "rock" voice in the sense that when the band is playing their good stuff, IMHO, Corgan's voice is kinda like Ozzie's voice when he was with Sabbath, it ain't good but it works for the material they were doing.

Beat me to it. I can't stand his whining. I thought these guys broke up some time ago.

Listened to it. Didn't really connect with it at all but haven't spent a lot of time with it. As an aside though, I enjoyed Zwan.

That's it!

Good griff he butcherd that song. It's so bad that everytime I hear it on the radio, I immediately switch stations. If I was Corgan I'd be imbarrassed by it. If Corgan was not already a rock star, and he did that crap on American Idol, he'd be a laughing stalk. Whoever that English judge guy is would rip him a new one and he'd be cut in the first round of cuts.

But noooooooo! It's the Smashing Pumpkins, that means it's good! Hilarious!

I played that song for my partner who helps me on the truck. He thought the singer was a girl. Hilarious!

Mellon Collie was good IMO. The stuff after lacked, I was a big time fan of the Pumpkins. Adore was too electronica and tried to get all victorian goth I didn't like a single song on that one. Machina had a few songs that grew on me. Zwan was a band he put a album out with sounded alot more like the Siamese Dream style Pumpkins but everything on it was much too "Up with People" and religious in tone for me. So far I've heard Tarantula and the song in the Transformers movie. They have dropped the electronica stuff and it sounds more like rock but I just haven't heard it enough to form a opinion on it yet. I think Jimmy Chamberlin is one of the top 5 drummers around.
I try to like most of their stuff, they are one of the few bands that I will buy the CD without hearing anything off of it first. I've been jamming them since Gish. Lots of the best years of my life had the Pumpkins on the soundtrack.

I haven't listened to the Mary Star of the Sea in awhile but when Zwan came out with it I went out on a limb and bought it and I didn't think it was that bad either.

They put on a decent show the few times I saw them back in the day. I don't think I'd buy any of the new stuff, but I'd go see a show.

Overall not my cup of tea, but in the 15+ years I've been going to concerts, I've yet to have a bad time.

Dave may not have the most appealing singing voice, but he can thrash. And really, what more do you need?

Hey, nobody can growl thru 'Holy Wars/The Punishment Due' like Dave, not even the master James Hetfield.

I bought that Megadeth greatest hits, not a bad cd.
