View Full Version : Why Do The Gay Guys Like Judy Garland So Much?

Or is it Liza Minelli? I don't remember which. Why wife was shopping with my daughter and apparently my daughter grabbed some funky shoes to try. My wife was trying to explain the shoes to me and she was saying,"They were red sequins...like...uh..." and I said,'Whore shoes?" and she said,"No, ruby...like..." and I said,"Judy Garland in Wizard Of Oz?" and she goes,"Yeah. A whore wouldn't wear them. They were that ugly." so I say,"Well what if it was a transvestite whore? A gay one. They like Judy Garland. Or is it Liza Minelli?"
So you see my dilemma. Do the gay guys like Judy Garland, Liza Minelli or both? If I'm going to be using them for a pop culture oriented smart ass comment I want to get it right.

I don't. I don't do interior design, I do not enjoy show tunes, I think a man in a dress in public is ****ed up, I also do not want to be casted as one of Cher's half naked **** boys in her next video. I am a guy...who happens to **** dudes. Keyword is guy. I am unique, and I revel in it.

Yes, a good friend of mine dresses in drag and hes says the most beautiful women hes ever seen. She shines like an angel and floats like a butterfly, ahhhhh to be young and in love.

Well, I'd like to be lean enough to be in one of those guys in the Cher video but I'm too lazy and I enjoy eating way too much. As for the other stuff, I have a gay uncle that acts stereotypically male-same as you it sounds. He doesn't get the draw either.

They also like Cher a lot, and while I think she is very talented, I hardly see her as an ideal for womanhood. Rainbows, Cher, Judy Garland, Erik Estrada - there's a lot things that Gays have taken and made "their own" for whatever reason. Whatever floats your boat.

We once had a buddy in grad school whom we suspected to be gay (not that there's anything wrong with that), and one time he had a party at his house. When we saw his room, all suspicions were verified: the walls were coverd with Audrey Hepburn ' Breakfast at Tiffany's' posters, and he had the Celine Dion boxed set. bwahahah!!

I've known gays who kept pictures of Marilyn Monroe (I think she tops that list more than Judy or Liza). When I ask why the answer I get is that she (Monroe) was soooo feminine.

I doubt that pam does anything for them. my wifes aunt has a life partner and pam does nothing for either lady so I am guessing no to a gay guy.

Looked into it a little bit and I guess its because she was one of the earlier celebrities who spoke well of gays in the media, in a time period when gays were even less socially acceptable than today.

Marilyn in my opinion is better looking that Jane, except in pictures. Marilyn is a woman i don't think ever looked good in pictures but in film was incredible.
and Jane looked incredible in pictures.
