It's come to my attention that we need to have a dialog.

There are tensions brewing over moderator functions on this board. I feel that sometimes vendettas maybe interpreted as action taken by people on this board. Now i'm not privy to all information available to a certain
situation(s), so i'm only making an appeal based on my own facts taken.

If there is an issue about a poster's behaviour, that person needs to have action taken. I think one reason things are boiling over (specifically about slap v. garcia) is the lack of information available to as why he was banned, etc.

Maybe this would be a good time to vent our issues/frustrations and resolve them in a manner that isn't childish, etc.

Thanks,

Josh

Slap is a cockmunch sometimes.

Garcia is a troll sometimes.

Beerslug whines all the time.

Slap was banned for being a cockmunch by Garcia the mod, not Garcia the troll. Beerslug whines because his political threads are moved to the appropriate forum. Mods will from time to time move political threads of great importance to the main forum for a short period of time, or allow some important political threads to remain on te main forum but generally leave propaganda threads relegated to the propaganda forum. Beerslug whines about this because Garcia enforces the rules.

militia is right, the offseason is ****ing gay around here.

What I want to know is this. How come me telling Taco where he can stick a male body part merits a one month ban but Slap actively threatening people and wishing ill will on others only merits a one week ban? Where is the justice in that?

I teach my daughter to be BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HERSELF! It cuts down on tattle tailing and the fact that she thinks she can blame someone else for her problems. She is only 4 & she is understanding how to be a responsible and respectful person.

It is none of our business what went down. We need to accept the disipline as does Slap.

to find out more Lee Canter Assertive Disipline techniques google Lee Canter Assertive Disipline.

I tell you the world would be a better place if people worried about their own actions/accepted responsibility for THEIR OWN ACTIONS/and kept their nose out of others business.

people just love to bitch. In reality the Orangemane has relatively hands off moderators. They'll move some threads around, which is nothing panty bunching as far as I'm concerned. Banning is pretty rare, so if you got banned, you probably deserved it. Banning isn't always punishment for one act ether, often times the person was on that road and finally went over the line.

Bottom line is, this is a pretty well run forum. I hope a bunch of whiners with sand in their crack don't ruin that for the majority of us.

No Raenos, I b*tch when a "political" thread I post is removed without explanation and the mod in question renames it "keep political threads off the main forum".

Clearly a personal bias without regard to board rules being exercised by said mod.

In a sense, you are right. But this is not a democracy here. This is someone else's message board, and I get to post here for free. Therefore, IMO, it's my PRIVELEDGE to post here......NOT my right.

The owner/mods can have any rules they want.....if enough people REALLY thought the rules were bad, then they'd go find somewhere else to post. And if the mods don't want "subscribership" to drop, then yes, they would "listen" to the masses......

Simple solution.... Spend a buttload of your cash and more of your personal time that you do not have and Start your own website and let the inmates run the prision. There are rules here, either accept them or move on to one of the numerous other Denver Bronco fan sites that you feel will let you say or do anything the posters please.

I doubt I missed the mark on this one. This is a privately owned site. The owner (Taco John) has set up this board and its rules. He has picked Moderators to help run his site in his vision of what he wants his site to be. If someone can not play by HIS rules they can either be banned or pick up his toys and find a new place to play.

Why is this so hard to understand? If you do not like the way the site is being run, spend your time and money and do what the EFF you like.

PS: I have had my avitars sensored on many occasions by the mods. And if the Mods choose to warn me about them I would heed any warnings or find a new site to play at... Not act like a child and biotch about them.

Personally, I love off-season mode. I like seeing the subjects that people want to talk about left on the main board.

I mean... why not let people discuss what they want? If people don't want to talk about American Idol, they can simply avoid the thread. If they don't want to talk about Pitbulls or Investing, they can avoid the thread.

When there's enough quality football info to discuss, the board will be predominantly football talk. Off-season mode should last all year long.

The exception being when football threads are hijacked, which is a different story. That shouldn't be tolerated, imo.

As for the mods... what a total joke. I'm not sure who they ALL are, but considering Garcia is a moderator, one can deduce that there are absolutely no qualifications needed, whatsoever.

The thread merging is the biggest joke. Having to dig through a 3000 post thread to find information on a subject is easier than just reading thread titles? It's one thing if 9 people start the EXACT same thread. It's another if some considerably different info comes out on a subject... and people try to point to that info with a new thread. It's MUCH easier for us (who don't have all day to spend here) to browse through the topics and get some info.

So, to sum it up. Mods should be keeping this place family-friendly, and that's about it. The rest of the crap they do is counter-productive and silly.

I agree with what you are saying CBF1 but why bother calling it a community if the Broncos fan community has no say in what goes on here. People b****ing is just a way of life in the real world or on here. At the end of the day you just can't please all the people all the time. I learned that lesson when the tailgate parties hit 200 people or so.

Without any formal structure of the membership base here it is what it is. I tried to organize it so the online community meshes with the real world side a bit better but we never seemed to be able to pull it together. Damn shame because by pooling all our resources together it would have been real cool but it was just too complicated. It is happening on smaller scales via some things that STG is doing though which is cool.

Either way it's working itself out but it's plain and simple. The more people you add to a community the more complicated it gets.

I just have seen some mounting tension and before people fly off the handle, i just wanted to give a forum to express any issues openly.

This isn't about ownership of the mane, etc - this is about a group of people co-habiting a site.

In regards to Garcia - he and i have had differences and sometimes i think certain threads get to hang on the main board that are beyond stupid and myopic - but my ire just gets redirected that people don't care about important (or what "I" deem important) issues.

But personally - i've had no real issues with garcia - he trolls no less than i do at times. ;)

I doubt I missed the mark on this one. This is a privately owned site. The owner (Taco John) has set up this board and its rules. He has picked Moderators to help run his site in his vision of what he wants his site to be. If someone can not play by HIS rules they can either be banned or pick up his toys and find a new place to play..

Couldn't agree more. But, I think the confusion for people comes in when the site is sold as a "community." Regular users are made mods, people are asked for their opinions... the site takes donations, etc.

So, it's one thing to run a "my way or the highway" site. I'm all for that. But, that's not necessarily the way this site is sold to people. So, don't be surprised with the "community" gets involved and lets their opinions be known... as a community will do.

How ****ing stupid is this thread? Slap gets banned, and his fan club loses their mind.

Have you people ever posted on another board before? Have you? If you have, then you would know that there are REAL nazi-moderators in the world. The ones that will give you an OFFICIAL WARNING and SUSPEND you for calling another poster an IDIOT. You got that? The ones that will delete and edit your posts DAILY. The ones that lock threads because THEY don't agree with the LOGIC of it. The ones that threaten you on a daily basis with suspensions for doing something that you had no clue was wrong, but they just decided it was...mainly because YOU did it. Now that's ****ed up. Is this board like this? Absolutely not. The mods here are freaking great.

You clowns have no clue.

Remember, kids, your slappy will be back in only 7 days! Can you make it till then? Can you come up with an original thought of your own or are you depressed you can't quote him 10 times a day and give him a smilie?

I just have seen some mounting tension and before people fly off the handle, i just wanted to give a forum to express any issues openly.

This isn't about ownership of the mane, etc - this is about a group of people co-habiting a site.

In regards to Garcia - he and i have had differences and sometimes i think certain threads get to hang on the main board that are beyond stupid and myopic - but my ire just gets redirected that people don't care about important (or what "I" deem important) issues.

But personally - i've had no real issues with garcia - he trolls no less than i do at times. ;)

Just a thought for the mods but maybe a smak forum would alleviate some of the issues going on around the board? It seems to work well at the other boards I post on.

General board is for civil discussion and maybe some friendly banter but if two people need to tear into one another they can do it in the smak forum. The upside is it's totally understood that that forum is for smak so if someone has thin skin they shouldn't even enter it. Simple solution.

An FAQ section of expectations of board conduct and thread moving, political threads etc might help?

Just brainstorming here....

Thanks,

Josh

The Mods do a fine job they just need to lighten up on avatars!! LOL

Actually this forum is loosley moderated and it's just about perfect. I mean if you want the Mods to loosen up more go to any raider forum. Those places are just ridiculous and they are nothing but name calling and 12 letter words.

It's a great idea that works well. I belong to Mecks other board and believe me, with a forum for ALL teams, a smak forum was necessary. Some of the fighting that goes on there can get down and dirty and downright nasty. Of course, theres banter back and forth on the regular boards and the mods don't get power trippy and move it, unless it gets out of hand. Then it gets moved. It works well to keep the crap off of the main boards and in it's place.

I mean... why not let people discuss what they want? If people don't want to talk about American Idol, they can simply avoid the thread. If they don't want to talk about Pitbulls or Investing, they can avoid the thread.

TJ created him as a mod and that's good enough. It's his board and his decision who to make a mod. If you don't like it, then leave. Simple as that. Besides your post count I sincerely doubt those that are complaining have donated anything to this site.

I don't have a problem discussing it.

I forwarded a message on to five people that was addressed specifically to me regarding a "disturbing email" about some entity starting a mass move of posters to another site. It didn't actually have anything to do with SLAP being banned from a moderator discussion perspective. More from a fallout of banning SLAP than anything.

I don't doubt that Garcia probably has some negative feelings about the whole thing. I also don't doubt that TJ feels justified in the decision. And lastly, I know that I don't know much about what happened that ultimately led us here.

But Garcia has apparently chosen to take the high road regarding the situation, at least publicly. I respect that, and think we would all be wise to do the same thing.

It's kind of getting a little tiresome to see thread after thread after thread after thread (Do I have enough yet??) of this! :oyvey:

I realize we don't have to click on the thread title...but, just seeing the titles and knowing it's all about MORE drama....aye! :bandwagon

Screw that I enjoy watching Orange Melrose. ;D

You were removed as a mod for that? Wow.

Looks like the writing was on the wall and TJ was looking for a reason to act. Whatever.

So people talking about leaving the Mane is against the rules or something? What is this a cult?

LOL

All well. I've had enough of this place. It's become very similar to the teams forum several years ago when I left there. Now it's time to leave here. If anybody should feel the need to contact me for whatever reason I'll be on the South Stands (http://wc0.worldcrossing.com/WebX/.1dde6920/). See you on the south side.

Geez. Is there a list or something that I can look at to see all the people that are leaving or have left, just so I know they haven't died or something?

This is crazy.

Eh I checked it out seems to be a lot like here. The stuff I read is mainly a b**** fest about things over here. Its the offseason, I am pretty sure all the sites suck right now. Its not enough of an improvement to leave this site though.

Just for the record, this wasn't the case at all. I'm not diabolical enough to plan on fooling my moderator who has been with the site since day one into a false sense of security only so that I can go on vacation and invent a reason to let him go. The bottom line is that I need to be able to hold conversations with my moderators behind the scenes without those conversations being forwarded for self-serving reasons. If people don't want to buy that, that's their perogative... There's still going to be plenty of people talking Broncos once the news starts rolling in regardless.

There was nothing self serving about what I did.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on that one.
