Im not one to pile on and talk about folks when they are banned unless its Boob. Slap however was warned, and I verified this through more than one source, about threatening folks.
What amazes me though is ****heads like Gonzo and Slug have never been banned.

It seems he was warned, and then told a mod to kiss his ass? Why don't you just walk around with a sign on your chest that reads "Please ban me?" I may not always like the way Garcia presents himself, but you can still be polite and civil. And, when a mod warns you about something, just back off and don't be an assclown.
It's too bad. I usually enjoyed Slap's takes. I hope he's not serious about not coming back. But, then again, he is the type that would be stubborn enough to hold a grudge, say f*** it, and not come back.

If it was the kiss my ass post in itself then I would say it was totally unwarranted. But it was the cumulative troll, past history, and then the kiss the ass post. Hopefully he comes back.

why just a mod. People tell eachother in arguments to kiss their ass all the time. The term Mod makes it that much worse. I don't agree.

With all due respect to the mods, I disagree. Why would it be any different? They shouldn't be any more sensitive to insults than the rest of us. In other words, if something said to a moderator is a bannable offense, then it should be bannable when said to anyone else.
I have to admit, this whole thing has something of a seventh-grade flavor to it. I understand that things feel different when you get caught up in the moment. But from a third-party perspective, it seems sort of petty and juvenile, on all sides. We're adults, protected by the filter of anonymity that is the Internet. Take a deep breath and take the high road every now and then.

I think tone and intent are something to be gauged in the response. Me telling taco, in jest, to kiss my ass doesn't have a lot of venom in the message. Slap and Garcia have been antagonistic towards each other for a long time.
It all comes down to respect. The mods run this place, they take the good with the bad. Garcia may not be the greatest mod, but why try and make him mad if has the power to do something about it? While I agree it's not good policy to be openly disrespectful to regular posters, it's stupid to go after a mod. It shoudn't make a difference, but it does.
For example, I can flip off other drivers all day long. However, let's see how far I get when I start flipping off policemen when I'm on the road.

Message boards can be such a funny place. Quite the sociological study. They can turn some grown men and women into spoiled foul mouthed little children. I can only assume it's because of the anonymity of the whole thing. I don't hear people talking to each other in my "real" world the way I read them speaking to each other here and on other message boards I frequent. I use to be a bit of a dumbass on the net too back in the day but I sobered up (for the most part :) ) and make an attempt to act like a grown civilized man and speak to people here the way I would in person, unless of course I have the right to be extremely pissed off and should defend myself :) The WRP forum can be a real hoot. It's a non-stop "mine is bigger then yours" , your too stupid, your clueless, what a dumbass, I'm always right (of course) and your always wrong pissing contest where nothing EVER gets solved. Kinda like Washington D.C. ;D

Dunno, sort of think that's one of the positives of message boards, you don't have to waste time on all that polite formalia crap, you can get straight to the point of things. Of course pointless personal abuse is of no use.
To me, trouble at most message boards I've frequented has stemmed more from hypersensitive peeps who can't stand the heat, than from the people bringing the heat.
(of course I can't be sure this is the case here as I haven't been here that long or often, but from what little I've seen, it seems to be).

Bingo. Admins and mods are in place for a reason. I believe that TJ has really let things get too far out of hand that now when something like this happens everyone is stratching their head wondering why someone got banned because of it. On my forums i keep a tight leash on things. We allow discussions and even arguements but once the insults start flying warnings are given out and even some bannings if necessary.

I know all about the chain of command with admins, mods and whatever. Ive been in a online pool league for five years and its the same way. The head admin gives someone a little power to be an admin and they fly off the handle.
They play favorites and give out one month bans like candy. Or suspend you for six months for questioning a admin.
I think its the same way here. Give some guy behind a keyboard a little pull, he thinks hes god gift to the net.

I don't know about for life but every once in awhile a person needs a swift kick in the nuts to really get the point. Hopefully he'll be back in a few days/week and he and GB will just ignore each other for a few months. After that things should pretty much die out. I've had my share of arguements and smack sessions with Slap. It got a little too personal on both sides. I stopped reading his posts for a good long while and I assume he did the same with mine. 6 months later you can act civil and it's a non-issue. I'm sure the same thing can and will happen with Garcia.

I hear you, but you know as well as I do that sometimes your internet tough guy persona is more play and BS than true or reality.
I'm not saying that it's okay to go around picking fights or threatening people or anything like that... but you also have to put some perspective to it. Does Slap deserve a couple days off... YES. It will do him some good to let things cool down. Same goes for Garcia. He's been pushing a lot of people's buttons lately. Maybe this will force him to think about his internet persona and calm him down a bit as well. I doubt it will stop him from protecting a douchebag like Michael Vick, but perhaps he'll stop protecting the likes of Michael Jackson.
In the grand scheme of things, I have no ill feelings toward Slap or GB. I know both of them through the Mane and have known them for over 6 years now. Will I lose any sleep tonight over Garcia "trolling" his own board or Slap being an "asshole" toward GB... NOT A WINK!!! I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully GB, Slap, and even Mock will too.

Slap had a lot more distasteful things to say than that. Including a lot of cheap shots at my wife and kids. People like you who think it's funny are the ones that keep the Slaps and Mocks in their distasteful moods.
The funny thing is, I have a ton more respect for Slap than I do someone like yourself. Slap had a beef and was willing to talk the game. Meanwhile you sit on his shoulder yelling "do it again, do it again."

Alec, you've been playing this stupid rebel act probably your whole life and frankly most of us see through it. If you're pissed about being banned, why not try not attacking the owner of the board just because he's the owner of the board? You have this retarded desire to lash out at authority figures and play tough guy - to what end? If I owned this board and you treated me like you treated Taco, I'd have life banned you long ago and if people whined I'd say "Suck it: It's my board."
As for -Slap-, he deserves to be banned for violating the multiple account policy. That doesn't change the fact that I and a majority of the people on here think Garcia Bronco is a troll and shouldn't have moderating privileges. And before you or someone else pulls the jealousy card out, I don't want to be mod and would refuse an offer to be one.

I don't agree with half of the time, but he'll present a sports take with history to support his point. That's what I'd like to see back. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad though. Oh, and when you were banned... I didn't realize you were gone!!! Otherwise, I would have launched a free Alec thread and forced hundreds of posters to spend their time in the HORSE'S ARSE!

Im not pissed about being banned. Im not banned. I got me a 24 hour ban recently but didnt even notice until the ban was almost up. Prior to that the bans I received were justified.
I dont play tough guy. I tell people what I think when I think it. Its not playing, thats how I am. If I dont like what you say, Im going to let you know EXACTLY how I feel. You dont like it? Go see a shrink and put me on ignore pussy. Taco and I may not see eye to eye on a lot of things, but then again, I talk to Taco in IM almost every day and if he ever needs help with anything I am there to help.
Like you said, it doesnt matter what you think about Garcia's moderating priveleges. This is Taco's board. If Taco makes the decision to revoke those priviliges, so be it. Slap deserved to be banned long before now, and his banning should have been longer than 7 days, just going off the loose forum rules we have here. I dont care if he is banned or not, but there have been people banned for 30 days for a LOT less than what Slap has done on this board. All I would like to see is fair punishment dealt equally across the board regardless of board status.
I dont think you would make a good Mod. I think the mods that we have are fine, including Garcia. What he does as a poster has no bearing on his moderating as far as I am concerned. I have seen him ban only Slap and anything else he does is move Beerslug's propaganda threads to the APPROPRIATE forum. Fact is, I dont think ANY of the mods have absued their privilidges on this board and they all do a good job. So if Garcia is a troll as a poster, big ****ing deal. We got lots of trolls here, deal with it. As long as his trolling does not affect his moderation, thats not an issue.
Im sick of people defending Slap like he is some sort of saint. The multiple accounts, the abusive language, the attacks on people's family members, all bannable offenses and all should merit a 30 day ban on each count.
Mock has made a joke, albeit a racy one, and received a 30 day ban. Slap wishes DEATH on people and their family members and gets nothing? No, Slap got what he deserved. If you, him, Tredici and the rest of the little groupies leave, peace, see ya, have a nice life. Will suck to see Tredici go, but I'll still talk to her in email. No more camp reports from you? Thats OK, they have all been more hype than substance anyway.
One thing I learned, this community does not rely on any one poster no matter how popular or well liked. Slap and his little clique of sheep leave, another will take his place, no big deal. So pout, whine, cry, bitch and moan all you want. Be a baby and take your thoughts elsewhere if you have the sack to stick to your principles, its not going to affect anything.

If you haven't caught on yet, you're the fan boy that follows like a lost little puppy. That, IMO, is pretty funny and certainly is worth bringing Slap back.
Slap- I'm back
Fontaine- Oh how I missed you so
Slap- Back-up freak
Fontaine- Yes o'mighty slap
Not really. I've made my feelings clear already on a thread in the main page where I said I'm pretty happy with the way the Orangemane is run and moderated after Slap was banned and he's old enough to handle it too so there goes your half a$$ed theory.
And for the record I never laughed when anyone insulted your wife and kids. So pipe down with the whole "woe is me" bs.
I just remembered the liongirl13 remark only because I have a pretty good memory when it comes to fans quitting on the Broncos.
Anything else is you're own bs, liongirl13.

It's funny how that's transgressed over the years. It was during the Griese days, and for the record, I have a Griese Jersey. You saying that I quit on the Broncos speaks more to your ignorance than my fanship. There's probably a half dozen posters on this board that have moved all over the country in order to end up in Colorado so that they can live in Broncoland.
Like I said, you questioning my fanship speaks more to your ignorance than anything. I haven't missed a game in probably 9 years. That inlcudes the infamous game against the Bears in 2003 that featured Kordell Stewart entering late in the game and leading the Bears to 10 straight 4th Quarter points... That game put us 4 or 5 games behind the Chiefs in the standings and it was week 11 or so. We started of our typical 4-0/4-1 that season and after that loss we were around .500. Yeah, you could say I was pissed off. Kind of like Garcia when the Broncos drafted Lelie I was hot!!! Doesn't mean I gave up on my team and doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan! That thing was blown out of proportion by people like you and Slap b/c you don't have any other "dirt" on me.
You'll forever be one of Slap's clones fontaine. I hope for your sake he does turn real fast... your head is so far up his ass that he'll snap your neck!
