I love that......extremely limited and "mostly single seats". That Pats have been playing that game for awhile now as well. Useless.
I always have better luck scoring decent tix from ticketmaster when they release the visiting team allocation a few days before the game. Using that method, I've found that there are always pairs available, and they're almost always in better sections than the garbage they release over the summer.

What's the deal with half priced tickets? Why are they half priced? Are they in undesireable sections? What?

Trust me - I do. I've got the Comcast connection and always get through on my first click within 5 seconds of their actual release. And, in the past, I've had SOME luck with getting pairs of Broncos tix (I can always get single seats or pairs in the club level); but that was before they instituted this new "mostly single seat" program that many teams seem to be employing now.
For the Pats/Broncos game here at Gillette, the Pats even admitted that the only pairs you could get from the first release of tix were standing room. Otherwise, you're stuck with single seating scattered throughout the stadium.

For the playoff game Pats @ Broncos, I used ticketmaster and got face value tickets in lower level just 12 rows off the field....two of them next to each other! That was PURE luck!
For all other games, we've had luck getting them from ticketmaster close to each other.
The half price tickets are some sort of requirement that was built in when they chose to build Invesco. The tickets are all of the stadium. The only catch is that the purchaser is the ONLY person that can pick up those tickets and they MUST go directly into the stadium. There is also a limit on number of tickets and I believe you can only purchase half price tickets for ONE game a season.

When the stadium was funded with tax dollars, part of the agreement was that 2,000 seats per game would be available to the average Joe and sold at half price.
I get them almost every year - they are usually close to the top of the stadium, often in ther north end zone. But they are a bargain.

STG - You can get a maximum of 4 tickets. So you can get four for one game or two sets for two games. But you are right, you have to show ID and go straight into the stadium which prevents scalpers from getting them.

Hopefully I will be able to hit up a couple of games this year. Right now though I don't know what games because of my work and school schedule. I am definatley planning to go to a playoff game if we host one though.

They usually are available for pick-up prior to the public release of tix. Mid-July!

I thought/ understood the 1/2 price tix are limited to 4 tix max, and one event max per household. I may be wrong!

just a quick note.... i used to work answering the phones for ticketmaster .... so i sold a lot of tickets for the broncos as well as others..... there are many pairs of tickets together but they do go fast..... also you have a better chance of getting pairs of tickets together if you go for the regular price tickets right when they go on sale..... i usually get south stand tickets which i love

I'm not disputing any of this, just pointing out that recently (past year or two in particular) several teams appear to be moving towards offering fewer and fewer pairs together for these regular season game "ticket releases". And they are doing it for two reasons: (1) scalpers are less likely to be able to grab them and re-sell them for huge profits and (2) opposing team fans are less likely to travel alone and purchase these "stand-alone" tickets.
In an even more extreme example of ticket sale limits...just look at what the Broncos did with the playoff tickets two years ago. They wouldn't even allow ticketmaster to sell to anyone with an address outside of "the Rocky Mountain Region". I'll bet you never had to deal with this when you were employed by ticketmaster....

I think that theory would actually hurt them more than help them! They could care less if scalpers purchase those tickets! (I wish they WOULD care, though) They are in it for sales purposes and to sell out. Most stadiums are regulated and required to offer certain things by the codes that were written when the stadiums were built and mostly by whatever methods it was funded.
Just like the Broncos are required to offer half price tickets. The seats that we sat in for the broncos/pats playoff game were purchased on ticketmaster. They were next to some long time season ticket holders. They had tried to purchase those seats but were told that those particular seats were required to be made "single season" seats and could NOT be purchased as an addition to or part of season tickets. I did find that quite interesting and they were GREAT SEATS!!

It could hurt them if the product wasn't already selling ridiculously well, but the simple fact is there is such a demand right now for NFL tickets in most of these cities that they could limit sales to just the major city that hosts the team and they'd just sell out the entire season in 15 minutes instead of 10.

Yup...and that ticked me off, too! We wanted to go to that game but you could not purchase the tickets unless you LIVED there. Thus, we couldn't get them unless we paid something close to $400 a seat.
BTW...why do we have TWO threads on this? I keep getting confused! LOL

No don't feel bad, they changed that policy 2 years ago. Before they did I was able to get half price seats for 4 games. The year I "found" out they had changed the rule, they still took my money and didn't inform me until a week before the game. So I had to scalp tickets for the Cheifs game, then for the set that I thought they allowed me to keep, I found out that a clerical error showed that I really did have seats for the KC game and they took my Raider game seats instead, so I wound up leaving unclaimed tickets at the booth for KC and was S.O.L for the Raiders game. I went to the stadium and raised Hell until someone came outside to see me. He took me in and pulled out the KC tickets from a box, refunded the money and then found a seat for the Raiders game, it cost less then the KC one but it was nowhere near where the original was supposed to be, but I made it in.
All in all it's a crappy policy, that leaves to alot of empties on Sundays. Now I have to bring a different friend to each game so we can use their credit cards;D
