View Full Version : Ellison has speed

Second-year linebacker Keith Ellison is one of the men on the spot in the Buffalo Bills' defense this year. He's taking over as a starter in place of Takeo Spikes. Ellison has bulked up this year but he's still on the smallish side. Ellison's best asset, however, is speed, and that has been in evidence at minicamp. Ellison closed the gap between himself and tight end Kevin Everett during 7 on 7 drills Wednesday and got himself just a couple yards shy of the sideline in order to distract Everett and force a drop of a pass from J.P. Losman. The Bills have a good coverage 'backer in Ellison. How will he hold up when the Denver Broncos line up and pound the run on the Bills in the season opener? We'll have to wait and see.

Gotta love the off season optimism.

Bill's biggest problem will be who to put on Javon Walker and Brandon Marshall. They have Mcgee5-9 198 who last yr was the number 2 cb. He didn't really play well and most Bills watchers feel he regressed a bit from the previous year. I don't see how losing Clements will help his play. The other corner will be Youboty. 5-11 189. Javon Walker 6-3 209, Brandon Marshall 6-4 222 are simply too big and too good for them IMO. I know Brandon is unproven but his size on the field in undeniable. Even without a good number 2, the bad new for these 2 corners is Javon Walker is bigger then them, and runs very fast. I just don't see bills secondary being able to hold up to what is going to be a really good Broncos passing attack. I don't even half to talk about the running game. I just know the Broncos will be throwing the ball alot openers vs the Billy Goats.
