Thanks folks. Y'all make this a great internet community. Even for those of you who think I don't like you? You're right! -- No actually, everyone contributes and a place like this would be no fun at all if we all thought alike. Even though I have no idea how some of you come up with your whacked out opinions...

;D

And Alec - the whole idea is to infuriate you. Makes you think. Which might take a little prodding but you've actually shown the ability on occassion.

Never take anything too seriously, folks. I can assure you I don't..

Tredici's wisdom per post ratio blows away the competition. I can't say how many times I've opened a thread and read 80 posts on some topic, then I'll read what Tredici has to say, because she possesses this unerring ability to cut through the crap and get to the truth of any topic. She would probably have many more posts, but she contributes so much time and energy to helping America's veterans and other charitable endeavors. I'm so lucky and proud to call her my friend.

10,000 posts? It makes you sound so old. Imagine people still around this place 20 years from now. Tredici will have 1.5 million posts compared to Mock's 10 million.

Kamensky doesn't count. He leeched off of Forsberg, pretended that he couldn't speak English to avoid talking to reporters and became one of about 600 ex-Avalanche players to defect to the Rangers and get wildly overpaid in the process.

Hinote was the Deuce Bigalow of the Avs. They didn't call him Dan The Man for nothing. :twokisses

Sigh.

Does it say HINOTE .... or TREDICI ?

Where the F did Hinote go?! THAT'S the problem with the Avalanche .... I hung on after the Drury trade, but the Forsberg release was the end of the line for me (at least of my rabid nature). That pp line - Sakic, Hejduk and Forsberg, was beyond any other I ever saw. Even when the Wings ran Yzerman, Shanahan and Hull out there on a penalty, we still had the better PP line (even though some think Hejduk 'leeches' off Sakic ;D). I think Milan won the Maurice 'Rocket' Richard Trophy - was that the same year Sakic won the points and Forsberg led the league in assists? Even if is wasn't, that was a pp line for the ages. Just lioke football, special teams are underrated in hockey.

For that matter - have we ever had a better penalty killer than Stephane Yelle? That warrior would lead with his face if it meant blcoking a shot.

I guess some trades are okay ... I hated to see Deadmarsh go, but Rob Blake is a worthy return, and the move might've won us the second Cup ... but where are all these guys? Why does Pierre seem to trade just to trade? Where did Stephan Reinprecht go? Greg deVries? The excellent offensive rookie that wore #17 a couple years back? Why does Pierre let all these guys go? I'm still torqued he let (who was that defenseman who went to the Blackhawks?) go!

Hejduk won the Rocket Richard Trophy that year with 50 goals, Forsberg won the Hart & Art Ross Trophies. That year was one of the few that Sakic has missed extended time due to injury (broken foot, took a Sergei Zubov slapper right off the skate).

I'm still torqued he let (who was that defenseman who went to the Blackhawks?) go!

I believe you're referring to Jon Klemm.

Well, this is only partially true. Tredici is bit of a mystical figure...she was nowhere to be found at the tailgate or in the French Quarter the night before (an all night affair for Blue D., Orangeknight, Sass & I), she just kinda appeared when we reached our seats if I remember correctly.....and that's pretty questionable since I was the same color as the road jersey I was wearing that day....I was beyond hurting.

I scrapped myself together enough to try to get her on film, but either my cheapo camera wouldn't work or she'd successfully dodge the shot every time I tried to do so. After the game, she disappeared into the cajun afternoon just as mysterisouly as she came....gone. Really, I do hope to see her again sometime but I just have this weird feeling like I won't. Hopefully, the feeling is wrong.

And the game was virtually over halfway thru the first quarter if you remember....and that made recovery a bit easier for me IMO. than a closer contest would've. I've gone to many a Saints game over the years and always felt they should be scheduled for 5 PM or a late game like a Sunday nighter. Having a noon kickoff after a Saturday night in the French Quarter really tests the bounds of human endurance unless you don't imbibe. I've always said it's damn near inhumane.

Sounds like a classic OM road-trip ... :spit:

That was a great game actually ... Al Wilson took a gift-wrapped Aaron Brooks pick to the house, and Champ went flying like a blur across the back of the end zone to intercept a pass and drop his tiptoes inbounds. One of the Top 10 all-time athletic plays by a Bronco.

I guess the fact that it was a New Orleans Saturday night means you and Alec get a pass. :flower:

Guess the first sports forum I posted in didn't have any of those type of bells and whistles so I've never found them necessary. Not to mention I sign on at work so I have all that stuff shut off.

Besides, how does one go about choosing what will represent or define them? It's like that old saying I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me for a member...

I never told her, but she was within a hair's breath of being hurled all over.

I was hammered for two straight days. Doesnt help when Meck is partying all night with a Raider fan (who was quite cool but stopped posting here sometime after the Fade went to ****) and Im so drunk I can barely breathe.

All I wanted to do was sleep and I couldnt do that. So the next day was miserable and Deb almost sufferd because of it.

Speaking of the Russian mob, BroncoBuff, did anyone see the Spike Lee film "The 25th Hour"? There's a well-known NFL player who plays a Russian mobster in that film ... see if you can guess who.
