Jack Elway is going to be a senior in high school this year, right? What kind of a college prospect is he seen as? Will he be sticking at QB?

No Stanford? They need help anyway they can. A big name like that would help and maybe Daddy doing some help in the donation to the AD.

Reports I have got say he is very raw, and lacks pocket presence for someone his age. Arm is great, release takes to long. College away from colorado will do him a world of good.

This kid should never play college football. Switch to tennis or something. He's going to be a psychiatric case study. Poor kid.

He'll be fine, he just needs a movie montage seen where he trains with the guru.

and, up to this point, those are based on his last name and not his play on the field.

his release is PAINFULLY long, though i think the "lack of pocket presence" criticism is largely unfair and used moreso because of his father.
his pocket presence is average to slightly above for a kid his age.
he sometimes takes off too early or stays in too long, but most times (ive at least seen a handful of games) his decision making is pretty good.
what i find most interesting is his apparent ability to lift his game in crunchtime (remind you of anyone?).
also, his arm, while strong, actually DOESNT seem to be that much above average, though his accuracy is good and he has the ability to thread one in from a reasonable distance. good velocity with average distance.
anyway, thats my .02.
he looks to me like he has yet to really grow into his body, so it'll be
interesting to see what happens with his senior season. i'd love to see him stay in colorado. just my .02

He throws off his back foot too much and some guy on the light rail said he blew out his rotator cuff and Cherry Creek is covering it up.
Bust.

I doubt Hawkins wants to bring him to Boulder.

I hope he goes to CU...then to the Broncos. I miss Elway.

I think it would be the worst possible thing for his career if he were to land on the Broncos, if he ever made it to the NFL...Though, it would be cool.

It would be cool if he was better than Dad.

And everyone in Denver would think that. And he'd know it. Which would be bad.

WTF, would you prefer he be a Raider? Or Chef?

No. I would love nothing more than for him to be taken with the 1st overall pick that we acquired when the Raiders gave us a 1st rounder for Brandon Stokely, and him to go on to win 5 superbowls and retire as the greatest QB ever.
However, since that's unlikely, I'd like it if he was in the NFC somewhere good.
Or did all of you forget that by the time he's out of college, Cutler's gonna be something like 28?

The kid is a one star prospect who may not even see the field much in College and you´re talking about him playing in the NFL?

He comes from John Elways sperm. He is going to be great.

Jens, before Hercules jumps on you, I think 1-star just means they haven't rated him yet. I haven't heard much on him yet.
He threw a few pretty good deep balls against Mullen in a game they lost last year.

AND Janet...
There's a cute story I remember when Jack Elway (Sr) said John actually got most of his athleticism from Moms...said those big ol' hands were from the other side of the family.
You never know.
Although, in every famous sports family no two members are ever equally good. There's always the 'best' one, a 'good' one and an 'okay' one. Seems like the total package only works in singles.
The Ripken brothers
The Earnhardts
The Pettys
The Andrettis
The Labontes
The ice hockey family (I forget their name) that had four brothers, but one was top dog
There are other examples, but these are the first that come to mind.
