I'll put them down on my blockbuster list and watch them again.Man, both these flicks are great action packed films!! Damon is great in both of them. I hope you have a great surround system and HDTV to watch them on. I have a Samsung HD-841 DVD player (that I got on eBay for $40) that upconverts regular DVDs to great resolution (not quite HD but not far off).

I bought mine originally to play Super Audio CDs and DVD Audios but was really surprised how good their upconversion picture is.
They are getting scarcer though as more and more people found out just how good these cheap DVD players really are :)

I just hope they fix the shaky camera problems that plagued the second one. It nearly ruined the movie for me. I just hated the director's overboard usage of it. The fact that it's the same director makes me wary of the third.

I think they mean the camera angles that show the fighting in a first person type of mode moved too fast. I've heard from a lot of people who couldn't follow it and had no idea who was who or what was going on.

To be honest, the movies aren't bad but I keep coming away disappointed each time I see a Bourne movie. I've read the Ludlum books and the plots are completely different unfortunately in the books the plots are a 100 times better than what the movie plots are. If the directors were to follow the book plot for this movie it would have been similiar somewhat with an earlier movie called "The Jackal" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jackal). So I am excited about this movie and have to read The Bourne Legacy soon before The Bourne Betrayal comes out sometime this year.:D

I did some pre production location shots for this movie a while back...not sure if they decided to use any of the spots I shot. In the movie the guy is from Nixa which is right by Springfield so they wanted to do a hometown for some small portion. Fun project.

Funny how Bourne was seen as a James Bond rip off, then surpassed the Bond franchise which then took influence from the Bourne movies to make posibly the best Bond yet.
Paul Greengrass is 3 for 3 (Bloody Sunday, Bourne II and United 93) so I'm looking forward to it. I saw the 2nd one doubled with SHrek 2 at a drive-in in Ft Collins, strange combo.
For anyone interested, there was a new Bourne book out this week.

I thought both Bourne movies were better then The Jackal. But it was close. The Jackal is a damn good movie. Best movie Bruce Willis has ever been in. I can't wait for this next Bourne movie. It could be the best movie this summer. The fighting scenes in the Bourne movies are just amazing.

This is easily as good as spy movies get, each of these compare, in my opinion with the Connery and Moore versions of James Bond. Its edgy, but not unrealistic and everything thats done makes sense, it makes you think fast and as you follow the film you seen how off the wall Damon's character is.

I was referring to the book, in the Bourne Ultimatum book Jason Bourne is threatened by a former top KGB agent who is pissed off called Carlos the Jackal. The Jackal wants to do two things before he "retires" from the business. One being killing Bourne himself and second destroying the place Carlos the Jackal was trained. It's completely different plot from the movie and if they did follow the plot of the book, it would be somewhat similar to "The Jackal" because Carlos the Jackal was untraceable.

Yeah I need to read the Bourne Legacy first...but this Bourne Betrayal book is getting some rave reviews.
After reading The Bourne Betrayal, I now know why Jason Bourne is so popular. He’s one of the great modern-day characters. How can one not love this haunted man, who fights for the good of others, and who keeps going, even when his damaged body screams for him to stop? This is the type of man who keeps America safe.
The Bourne Betrayal is a cleverly plotted, incisive thriller with a hero I’m glad is on the good guys’ side. In an amazing work of fiction, Mr. Van Lustbader takes us into the minds of terrorists. He shows us the horrifying hate they have for the infidel, their whacked-out reasoning, and their sheer determination to wipe us off the face of the world. And what’s most horrifying is that they truly believe they’re fighting in God’s army. You cannot reason with these people.

Go to your blockbuster account that you love and look under NEW RELEASES>. There you will find the two movies. I know they are a few years old , but BB thinks these are new releases so they can charge more to walk in customers. You report back to us when you get your brain in order. To not have a 2nd thought on these movies is absolute nuts. Every time these movies are on, I am in full watch mode. Enemy of the State, Shawshank Redemption, Beverly Hills Cop are others i will watch for the umpthenth time. Revenge of the Nerds if it is on without the nudie scenes cut out. I like my pie original. BTW: Just got Old School unedited version at Walmart yesterday for $9.97. That movie will be a classic.

"Live Free or Die Hard" was a much better action movie. Die Hard had stunts people don't normally see. I've seen car and motorcycle chases, so Bourne didn't offer anything new. I'd put "Bourne Ultimatum" in my top 5 of the summer, but that's not saying much.

I really enjoyed the Die Hard movies, but the last one really disappointed. When Bruce Willis is getting chased by a fighter plane while driving a big rig, I felt like walking out of the theatre. Espoecially, when he jumps onto the plane and slides down the broken asphalt bridge on his back-side without tearing his clothing/getting injured. Gimme a frickin' break.
Bourne Ultimatum will have you on the edge of your seat from the get-go.
Be sure to catch this one in the theatres!!

I go to the movie theater about twice a year (why sit inside when there's such a beautiful playground outside!) so, when I pick a movie, it better be worth it! This was definitely worth it. It is non-stop action from beginning to end. So, pee before you go into the theater and know that when you get out, it will be a quality two hours spent. The thing that got me, it only felt like we were in there about 45 minutes! A couple of good fight scenes, too! I had to cringe, so you know it's good when I cringe! :clown:

I cannot believe how great this movie was. I loved every minute of it. Great story and great action. I loved the first two, and loved this one just as much. I'd have to put this one on the top of my list of movies that I've seen this year.
On my personal list, I'd put it above 300, which I liked a lot. I liked Transformers, Pirates 3, Ocean's 13, and Spiderman 3 and Die Hard. I had some issues with all of those movies...except for 300, which was great. Die Hard had two scenes that I thought were over the top. The action is supposed to be a little over the top, but the scene with him fighting a jet and the scene with him destroying the helecopter with a flying car was a bit too much. In Transformers I wished they had developed the characters of the Transformers a lot more.
If I'd have to rank the movies that I've seen so far, the Bourne Ultimatum would easily top the list, followed by 300, which isn't far behind. Then would come Pirates 3 and Ocean's 13.

The bolded movies do not qualify as they were not released in theaters in the summer of 2007.
You're wrong on Knocked Up. It was released June 1st...

Damon's minimalist style is key to why the Bourne movies have become an oasis from other blockbuster action fare; freed from the bells and whistles of computer-<wbr>generated effects...and they've succeeded in bringing the genre back down to earth.<!-- CLEAR -->

We picked up Bourne Supremacy and watched it Saturday night knowing we would be watching Bourne Ultimatum this week.
We just got home from the theatre and the movie is action packed. It starts out where Supremacy left off. A great movie!
