Well it looks like Eddie Moore is getting a lot of playing time at the starting SAM position so I went and researched him. He was the 49th pick(second round) in the 2003 draft and he is pretty talented. The Miami fans seem to think he had a lot of talent and potential but he just could not stay on the field with his injuries. Once i started reading up on him I am kind of exited to see what he can do because the Miami fans say he was good when he actually played and was not out with a injury.

Anyways here is a thread over at FinHeaven where they are discussing the article where it said Eddie Moore may end up starting for us at SAM:

Hopefully he can stay healthy. He ain't much good if he's in the training room all the time.

Taking Eddie Moore 49th overall is probably one of the big reasons Dave Whatsdat and Rick Spielman were relieved of front office duties in Miami. Not that our off-the-charts horrible performance in the 2003 draft gives us a right to laugh at anybody, but I'm guessing Anquon Boldin, Osi Umenyiora or Mike Doss might have been better choices for the Phish that year.

At least Moore is still in the NFL and competing for a position. We took Terry Pierce two selections later and barely got him on the field.

He really seems like our best option at SAM if he's healthy.

Any of us could show up and they'd give us a look with the 1st team at SLB, they're throwing anyone they can in there right now to see if he'll stick.

I think Moore is on the field, at this point in camp, due to his knowledge of the Bates system.

I feel that on week one Holdman will be starting strongside.

Foster and Pierce, where are they now.

Seems like out best option at sam. If he can play hard and make plays, why not.

Well, if Donnie Spragan beat him out as starting Sam in Miami, my hopes are not too high for this guy.

Besides, I recently read where the Warrick Holdman signing - while obviously not a headline-grabber - was acknowledged as a very savvy play around the league.

We'll see ...

He wasn't healthy. He was going to be dealt to NO but couldn't pass the physical.

Ack, that 2003 draft flashback makes me ill. Look at all the talent we could have had instead of Foster and Pierce.

I don't think this is getting resolved until literally the end of the season. Who starts, who sticks and who performs are different questions. Can the DL maintain the push all year? Who works best with D.J.? How is D.J. progressing? It's going to fun unit to watch. A lot of good problems to have.
