Off topic, but I just wanted everyone on the board to have the chance to see one of the best heavyweight fights of all-time:

That was a slug-fest of all time proportion. Maybe the greatest all-out slugfest ever.

Is that the entire fight?

An all time classic. Boxing literally reduced to its most primordial terms. You half expected them to resort to bashing each other in the skulls with stones or clubs at some point.

Ron Lyle didn't even turn pro until he was 29 years old. He pulled four or five years in a Colorado prison for killing a guy in a fight that almost ended his own life.

That 4th round may be the best round in heavyweight history. Lyle knocks Foreman down, then Lyle goes down, then Foreman goes down again with 3 seconds left in the round. Good lord, if we could get half this fight it would save save boxing in the US (I stress the last five words because boxing does not need saving in many parts of the world).

I met Lyle about a year before this fight. It was weird...I stopped for gas on Alameda Avenue in Lakewood on a Saturday morning. While I'm pumping the gas, a car drives into the pump next to me, the dude gets out and starts getting his gas and it was Lyle. I shook hands with him and told him I was a fan. He seemed like a really quiet guy...not what I pictured. Pretty cool for a 16 year old kid, but nobody believed me. I didn't think to ask him to sign anything.

Damn, find me a better round than the Foreman-Lyle 4th round. Maybe Castillo-Corrales round 10. Maybe.

One great thing about being older. I remember the great fights of the seventies and eighties.
